This review is only for their buffalo wings. They are tiny and soggy. Not worth it.

This Chicken Delight store has been here since at least the early 70s. I’ve been getting take-out from it since around the mid ‘80s(both chicken and pizza) when I used to visit my sister who lived close by. The quality and consistency of the food has been both excellent and amazingly consistent throughout all those years — and, in fact, the chicken and pizza still taste *identical* to the Chicken Delight franchise that used to exist in Norwood, NJ when I was a kid — in the mid/late 60s! That fact in itself makes it pretty special and highly unusual. When the original owner, Bill, retired a couple of years ago, I was afraid this place would become yet just another memory among all the many good places that used to exist in the area or were bought by new owners and changed(always for the worse it seems). Fortunately, it was taken over by his son and the quality remains as good as it always was. He is also just as friendly and welcoming to customers as his father was — something which is true of the entire staff, not the least of which is the original owner’s sister, Sylvia, who also still works there. And it never seems a «phoney» kind of friendliness either, no matter how busy they might be. They are always accomodating. Anyway, I’ve always thought this was the best fried chicken around. As to those who complain of «greasiness»(?)…it’s called FRIEDCHICKEN — get over it! If anything, I’ve found this probably to be among the *least* greasy of any take-out fried chicken I’ve had. That said, I think maybe those who complain might be mistaking the natural juices it’s loaded with for«grease» — especially when it comes to their breasts(always BIG and with white meat that’s actually *white*, rather than the«semi-tan» which passes as white in some other places). The chicken here is always moist. Their french-fries are also perfectly cooked and delicious and seem to retain their crispness far longer than others during the time it takes to get the take-out home. The onion rings here are also exceptionally good, although they don’t seem to hold up quite as well as the fries in a 15-minute drive back to your house. I highly recommend their pizza should also be tried. It’s at least as good as many popular dedicated pizzerias in the area — and superior to more than a few(and with their prices being more reasonable than many) — and I’ve been to virtually ALL of them. Sorry for the rambling review, but this Chicken Delight has always really impressed me and I just recently signed-on to Unilocal and wanted to give my opinion. Despite my raves, I have no connection with the owner or workers here in any way — other than being a satisfied and loyal customer for the past 30 years — even though I don’t live that close. Hopefully the younger Bill will keep it going for another 30 — even if I won’t be around to enjoy it anymore. ;)

Came here after reading the great reviews. Ordered 8 piece buffalo wings, 8 chicken tenders, ½ clam strips and cole slaw. The wings were tiny and soggy. Chicken tenders were… bleh. Clam strips just tasted like breading… cole slaw was pretty decent considering everything was… bleh. Maybe i shouldve gotten fried chicken… but pretty disappointed with this place.

Longtime staple of Hillsdale for a reason. Best pizza in miles with perfect crust ratio. Best fried chicken around, although I am unsure as to where else to get that besides KFC and Kennedy Fried Chicken in Patterson, both of which are filth. DON’T COOKTONIGHT, CALLCHICKENDELIGHT!

Just an okay pizza and lackluster chicken. They have been in Hillsdale for a long time and I see a lot of people going there but I did not enjoy the food. For Pizza I would rather visit Broadway Pizza, Ray’s Pizza or Cousin’s Pizza

Pizza Delight? Chicken Delight? Same place for us townies and the terms are interchangeable. Yes, chicken is their first love and it’s something they’ve been doing ever since I can remember. Pizza came along well after that, but both are amazing experiences. There’s a KFC right down the road but nothing pales in comaprison to this place. The pizza is pretty good but there are other places around that do better… and it does pain me to say that. Their menus is pretty extensive so there’s something for the whole family… they even do fish! The prices are reasonable and the sides are indeed a bit pricey but don’t let any of that steer you away. Parking is a bit of a pain since it’s on street so many people opt for delivery. There is a commuter lot behind it which tends to get full because of Cornerstone. No matter what you do, make sure you get corn nuggets!!! I don’t think that they would be where they are for so long if they didn’t know what they were doing!

Like all the other reviews say, it should be called Chicken Delight. However, they do have ribs which are actually quite good, but once again the chicken is where it is at. The reason that I am giving this 4 stars is because this place causes me to gain a lot of weight :)(just kidding).

This should actually be called«Chicken Delight» because the main food is Chicken and then Pizza happens to also be made there. If you are going to have fried chicken and you are in the area, this place cannot be beat. A#1 chicken. The fact that you can also get good pizza here is a bonus. The prices of the meals are really good. The cost of the sides however are a bit pricey when ordered as extra. Make sure you have soda at home. Delivery is the problem with this place as everyone orders from them so pickup is much quicker! Always friendly and helpful on the phone or counter.

My mom has been ordering pizza & chicken(with coupons!) from here forever. Pizza is pretty good, greasy! My family loves the chicken. Some of the same people have worked there forever. One recognizes me every time I come in, even if it’s been years! Looks the same as always, which is actually kinda cute, old school and comforting. Oh, and! I would rather give my business here than KFC that opened just down the street: P

I know you’re going to think I’m crazy for saying that pizza from a divey looking place called«Chicken Delight» is really good, but it’s really good! It’s honestly probably some of the best pizza I’ve had in or around Hillsdale. It’s also pretty cheap and fast. Lesson learned: never judge a book by it’s cover!

This place is a little piece of Heaven. They do chicken LIKENOOTHER. It might be a tad greezy, but it’s damn good. Crunchy, juicy, and as long as you don’t eat it every day, you can still live a long and prosperous life. Factor in that we live in the most polluted state in the country, and you realize why fried chicken isn’t really an issue for us. The fries are still crunchy when you get home, not sure how they do that, but they are and most others are not. I’m ordering some right now.

There really isn’t a better fried chicken place in the area. It’s a little too greasy, but that’s perhaps what makes it fantastic. The pizza is ok at best. Then again, there aren’t too many places where you can order a pizza and fried chicken, so as long as you’re getting the chicken the pizza isn’t bad. The batter fried chicken is tasty and crispy while the meat is tender and juicy. Once you’re full it’s still tempting to peel skin off the leftover pieces and just finish it off. I highly recommend a side order of onion rings. The only onion in them is in the name, but it’s enough for me. At the end of the day, can you really go wrong with some greasy fried chicken? I didn’t think so.

I’m shocked and amazed that they were able to get our Christmas Eve order right: two 13-piece chicken meals plus 16 breasts and 5 wings or something like that, with a bucket of fries and a container of cole slaw.(Our family isn’t really that big — we just loves us some Chicken Delight.) The chicken here might be greasy as hell, but the batter-fried pieces are a lot better than anything KFC has to offer. Chicken Delight’s pieces are actually large enough to feed an adult human, and they look like they came from an actual chicken. Even better, they’re tender and juicy, even as leftovers the next day(or the day after that). The people who work here are really cheerful and courteous, and they didn’t even bat an eye at my wingnut order when I picked it up. This place is a tradition in my family, and it’s no exaggeration to say that a riot might have broken out if we didn’t have Chicken Delight on Christmas Eve.
