Pageant Nails

It looks great and then two nails broke off… and I noticed two green spots on both nails around the edge… I have been doing my nails since I was 15 years old and never had I ever got nail fungus!!! I thought it was weird that they sell nail fungus treatment kits right behind the nail tech desk (go and look for yourself!!!) and then now I know why… GROSS

This is my first time trying pageant nails. Since I’ve moved to the island I’ve only gone to angel nails… I think I found my new nail place :)
I’m SO pleased with the work the ladies at pageant nails did. Mimi is great! Very polite & efficient! You can see she takes pride in her work. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I will definitely return

Sadly this was a bad experience. Came in to get my nails done for the first time in 9 months, since my son was born. For the first time in a long time my nails were so healthy, long and all the same length. After asking her for a «soft square» shape she proceeded to cut all the sides of my nails off :(
Nothing warm and fuzzy in there either. She was very short with me and rushed me to pick out a color. Never talked to me once.
I paid for my botched pedicure but walked out in the middle of my manicure. That was a first.

I’m writing this review as someone from out of town (Los Angeles). I needed to get my nails done so found this shop on Unilocal.Mimi was the nail artist and she was excellent. I consider myself picky about my manicures because I’m a design person by training and usually I come home after a manicure needing to fix my own nails or redo them. Mimi was very skilled, not pushy or passive aggressively weird (common experience in LA) so I felt I could continue to express my preferences and she executed everything so well. Her art skills are amazing and my nails (gel French tip on an acrylic base) look so natural and feminine. I wish I could find someone like her back on the mainland! Thanks for a great manicure experience in Hilo.
