Sunlight Express

Very poor customer service. Wont go there again. I stopped by this restaurant to buy some french fries for my son while we were roaming around the mall. Their menu on the wall stated the price of french fries as $ 1.5, but when I ordered, it was $ 3.5. Obviously, I asked why it was so, the lady at the counter said the price on the menu is wrong (with a bit of attitude). I suggested that they should probably update the price on the menu. On my receipt, it was written as Dosirak instead of french fries and her explanation was that, she they don’t have it on the machine. Hmm… Okay!!! Then i was asked to wait for my order to be ready. So I waited and waited… and waited for upto 15 minutes and my son started complaining that its taking too long. My wife came searching for me and I started thinking that they were possibly harvesting potatoes for the fries… So, i got up and asked if my order was ready. Then another girl went inside and brought my fries which had started loosing its freshness. So that was it. They either made me wait intentionally or like I said, they were growing potatoes for each order

Best bubble tea in Hilo! It’s creamy, smooth, no chunks of ice (like some places) and not watery. It’s a little more pricy than others in town but well worth it!

We arrived at the mall just as soon as it opened. We wanted to eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Maui Tacos but they weren’t ready yet. My wife and I were hungry so we decided to eat here because they had all their food ready, which is a super good sign. We shared a plate which consisted of Korean Chicken, Nori Chicken and Jap Chae! I’ll honestly say the food was pretty good, being that it was our first time eating there. The prices are affordable and service is great.
Would we eat there again? My answer is YES!

Cheap food court food. I’m a sucker for steamed veggies, spicy chicken and noodles. My husband likes the Shrimp Curry here. There’s not a lot of options at Prince Kuhio Plaza so it’s either here, Maui Taco or IHOP for us.
$ 20.88 for two plates and a large drink… NO complaints :)
BTW… ADDRESS at the top is incorrect… It should read 111 E. Puainako St.

I ordered vegetables that were too salty, long rice was ALRIGHT, and cone sushi
Service was EHHH, I’m a vegetarian and the girl thought it’d be nice to add her two cents to say how good meat is.

1 star for the food, my grandma didn’t enjoy her food either, her meat was too sweet
Overall this place is over priced and the food sucks, just go somewhere else to eat!

Sunlight Express is affordable and the food is made fresh. I highly recommend people stop by and try it!!!

The food was great and the service was wonderful. The price was just right. I will return. Worth taking the time to check it out.

Sunlight Express, located in the Prince Kuhio Plaza is a lunch shop type of restaurant. We got good from the line twice and both times our food was not even warm. Going back for a third time we decided to order plates (seafood and a mixed plate). The food lacked taste and portions weren’t very big. The only thing positive about this restaurant from my experience is the friendly service.

Still great food. Loco moco gravy is thick and tasty, service is always friendly. Clean setting. Yum!

Located inside the Hilo mall. I think it’s newly opened. But dannng… they have so much options in the menu. All of them looked soooo good! I don’t know why, usually these food doesn’t make me get so excited. It’s like Asian local food.
I order the mahi mahi with shrimp which includes your choice of brown rice or white rice and a salad with dressing. The fish and shrimp was well sauteed. A little salty but not bad. Maybe I was too hungry. It was around $ 8~

Food was ok, and their customer service is so-​so

I had some of the bento food. It was good, just like a lunch shop. Tried the chicken cutlet, that was really good. It’s always clean and tiddy!
