In Hilton Head right now on vacation, this is the second summer this place has been closed.

I LOVE this place. It’s my favorite italian restaurant. All of the reviews below complain about slow service, I’ve never noticed that, but when I go there I’m not normally in a rush, it’s typically a nice night out with my boyfriend. The food is fantastic and the veal meatballs are some of the best I’ve tasted. It’s definitely a bit smaller, but it’s also definitely down-​home Italian.

If you’re looking for a quaint, friendly, and delicious pasta restaurant, this is the place! Close to beach & shops. Extremely fresh & tasty pasta… will visit next time we are on the island!

This little gem is tucked into the corner of Coligny plaza, a short walk from the beach. I went for my birthday last night and had the most heavenly meal!
The new owner Steve is quite the mixologist presenting us with Lavendar Martinis! Delicious!
With dinner we had a nice bottle of Prisoner a dark purple colored Zin based blend that opens with a mild blackberry, earthy, and smoky oak bouquet. They offer an excellent wine list. The bread is fantastic and the caesar salad dressing is perfect! We shared an amazing tuna and avocado appetizer. I enjoyed the most succulent shrimp with angel hair pasta and my husband had the chef’s special a
french /​german sourkraut with wild boar sausage… fantastic!
I also love the roasted beets and chèvre. And you must try their delicious desserts!
Chef Olivier Allain is amazing! Not only is he a great chef, he also plays classical guitar on Thursday evenings, and brings his Chaîné des Rôtisseurs experience and fun personality to make this place really special.
To sum it up «Not Just Pasta» has it all… great food, drink, & ambiance… yup, as good as it gets. My favourite restaurant on Hilton Head Island!

While shopping at Coligny Plaza…
I hadn’t ready reviews before eating here, but it was lunchtime, and it was either this place or a deli. We chose PASTA!
YES — service was SLOW… but
We didn’t have any pre-​conceptions. The bread was really yummy — still warm out of the oven. NOTE: there were 4 of us and we got 1 loaf, and my sister noted that another table had 2 people and they got the same sized loaf. Lucky 2 people…
It also comes with a salad that already had dressing on it. We all really enjoyed the salad also. Maybe we were just really hungry, but we talked about that salad the next day…
You pick your pasta /​you pick your sauce /​you add additional items at an additional cost. The end (well — there were other things, also — my daughter ordered a pasta bake).
If you stick with pasta and a sauce it’s really reasonable ($ 7.95), but it you start adding stuff, it becomes expensive. I had linguine + creamy bolognaise, my sister had spaghetti with bolognaise. We both really enjoyed our sauces. My sister ordered meatballs. I believe it cam with 3 tiny little meatballs and I it cost her $ 3 extra. My niece ordered chicken with her pasta. I believe that added $ 7 dollars — the chicken was really good, but the additional cost was crazy (to me).
There was 1 waitress at lunchtime, and all tables were full (I’m not exaggerating — she worked hard. If she had sat around doing nothing I would have been more concerned, but we were on vacation, enjoying each others company and enjoying our pasta lunches!)
We really enjoyed our lunch, and my daughter asked to go again the next day (we’ll go back next time we’re at HH, but I just couldn’t go to the same restaurant when there’s so many to try while at HH).

Great bread. Fresh-​tasting pastas and sauces. Probably the best fettucini alfredo and gnocchi my wife and I have had. It is a quaint ambiance with small dining room. It is a great find. Looking forward to going back next time. Only reason we didn’t give it 5 stars is because there are no fountain drinks. Great wine selection though if you drink wine.

I went here on a recommendation of a friend. Sadly I was not impressed… the service was very slow and the food was just so so… with so many other places within walking distance… I wold say walk on by this place.

The service was inattentive and salads were much smaller than in the past. We’ve been coming to Just Pasta for a long time — this was not up to the standards we expected. Not terrible, but not «very good» as in the past. I will try another Italian restaurant next.

It’s not just pasta– they also have sandwiches, soup, salads. Service was friendly but as the other reviewers said they were SO SLOW. I don’t know if it was the server or the kitchen, but our food took a long time to come out– like 20 minutes at least. At lunch?
As for the food it was really good– I am pretty picky about caesar salads and theirs was really tasty with the perfect amount of dressing. We also had the baked ziti, eggplant parm sub, and fettucini with mushrooms at our table and it was all very good.
On another note I think they should turn their thermostat up a couple of degrees– it was freezing in there!

I cannot agree more with the prior review… i’ve come here since i was a kid, biking here from my house… repeat customers, even if we were just kids at the time.
the service at the time was poor i assumed as i was young, and they probably didnt think we knew about tipping and such (which we did), but after bringing my boyfriend here last year to show him one of my old favorite places, the service was still appalling. We asked for bread (which they brought to all other patrons as far as i could tell), and it took them until our food came (which wasnt fast either) to bring the bread. I didn’t get anything to eat this time, as it was really just for my boyfriend to try the place, but i always loved the mushroom cheese and chicken sub (SUPER greasy, but good!)! My boyfriend wasnt as big a fan, but it still looked good… either way, the service is the major downfall to the place, just rude, couldnt be more blasé, and generally just seem bored and unhappy to be there… which having waitressed before in college, i understand, but hello? tips?! at least fake it!

There are some things I really love about Just Pasta — like the bread, the food, and the location. But the reason for the 3 stars is the service. For the 10 plus years I have been going here the service is always the same — no matter how many different waitresses I’ve had. Their attitude is very casual, very matter of fact, not very friendly or warm. Now there is nothing wrong with this, the food makes up for it — but if you are expecting down home hospitality and a warm and cozy greeting — head elsewhere.
That being said — the lunch special is great and its a nice romantic date night with a glass of wine.
