Mattress Firm Metromont Shopping Center

My husband and I were in the market for a new bed, and my sister swore by her tempurpedic mattress, so we thought we’d try one out at this store. We ended up purchasing a king size tempurpedic mattress, box spring, coconut pillows, mattress pad, and matal bed frame. We were told about the 30 day guarantee and that it only applied to the bed itself. We were fine with that, since we needed a new bed and that if we didn’t like the one we got, we’d be trading it in for a different one anyway.
Every morning, I woke up feeling like I’d been hit by a truck. The mattress was way too firm for me and I couldn’t get a good night’s sleep. After the first week, I called and told the salesperson I just couldn’t take another night on that bed. He assured me to just give it time and that eventually the mattress would soften. So I gave it another week, but with no luck. I finally went into the store and insisted on another mattress. My husband went with me, and we decided to purchase a softer mattress with adjustable frames (like hospital beds). He gave us credit for the tempurpedic mattress, but told us that the bed frame we bought was non-​refundable. I knew he told us this when we originally purchased it, but now that we were getting adjustable beds at an additional $ 2,000, and that we no longer needed the metal bed frames, couldn’t they just take them back? His response? They don’t take them back because it’s «not sanitary». Oh? and taking back a mattress is more sanitary than the frame it sat on? Give me a break. But fine, whatever.
The next day, I went online to bring up the mattress to show my mother the one we were exchanging ours for. Turns out that it went on sale that morning. Since it hadn’t been delivered yet, I called the store and asked for a price adjustment. IT TOOK TWO MONTHS for them to credit me the difference. Good thing I only have to buy a bed every 8 or so years. And the next time I do, it won’t be from this store.
