Sushi was killer Got the fantasy roll and salmon sashimi My lady got tuna and a yellowtail roll Super fresh fish loaded with flavor Wasabi was on point and will bring a tear to your eye if you’d had too much We split some fried dumplings to start which were standard but thankfully not oily at all Definitely would come back Sat at the bar and the bartender was awesome

This place has great tacos. Every time I go I can eat at least 6 – 8. Chicken Steak Pork are amazing. Not much of a fish guy but they have that as well. Service is usually great as well. They have sushi which is good as well.

My experiences here have been meh to A-OK, never really great. It’s a weird mix for sure, Asian/Mexican some of the stuff actually works though. I don’t eat sushi so I can’t comment on that. We’ve sat at the bar, dining room and the back courtyard and each time service has been ok to bad. At the bar, the bartender was nice but was too busy talking with her friends who were quite frankly obnoxious and not even paying customers. The service on our last journey was absolutely atrocious, about 15 minutes to get greeted, we almost left. Then once they took our order it was even longer to get our food, now it was taco Tuesday so it shouldn’t take too long to make some pretty basic tacos, but it took about 30 minutes. Water glasses went empty, one check in about 28 minutes into that 30 minutes. Then the guy just kinda thew down the check. Really bad, and it was like that for other tables we saw the lack of service for everyone. The taco Tuesday is a decent deal $ 2 chicken, pork, beef or fish tacos. The last time the tacos were lacking anything inside them, it was really pitiful, I was still hungry after 4 and the wife still hungry after 3, and it took 30 minutes for these. Disappointing. I almost got the chips and 3 salsa app, but for $ 8 I saw other tables get it, hardly worth that. I have had the nachos and they are absolutely excellent, they are gigantic and really filling, the nachos and a decent happy hour is really why it gets 3 stars and not 2. After the last experience here it will be awhile before we come back, it’s just average food with less than stellar service.

The Special rolls a bit pricey…2 cost my beaux $ 33 alone for the King Crab and Saucy Girl rolls. Pretty yummy though — fish is definitely better than average. When I got my eel roll though, I thought it was accidentally a salmon skin roll because the fish in it was so slim… skimpy rather…

This review is solely for their take-out sushi menu. Ordered the most basic rolls — spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and the Godzilla. All rolls were good. I assumed the Godzilla roll would be fried(my fault for not asking) so I was a bit bummed when it wasn’t but overall good sushi. They have a diverse menu so I’ll def be going back to try some of their other dishesthat sound delish. The restaurant looks great for a more intimate dinner night.

Love this place! It’s hidden up at the top of Washington at 14th. They have an awesome patio in back for warm nights. They have specials several nights of the week including happy hour all night, taco tuesday, ½ price sushi, and endless wings Thursdays! Their sushi is good and they have a full bar. We recently went for the endless wings which was delicious. They have six varieties — our favorites was the Asian style. Their staff is also very attentive and quick. Great place in Hoboken!!!

I’m not too picky on sushi. I eat the deli stuff at Shoprite on 11th street. Sushi from the cheap Chinese places too on Washington. Illuzion when I want guaranteed delis houses. Tonight was the first and last try for Las Olas! I ordered several things for the fam tonight. A few rolls, a grilled chicken. The yellowtail was way off, strong fishy taste, not fresh at all. Good heavens I haven’t gotten bad sushi in years. There was something weird about each roll. I figured the wasabi was«fusioned» up into something else and it did suck too, but even the rice was weird. The grilled chicken thing was silly salty, oily and barely edible. This was my first order and while I’m sure people love taco Tuesdays(lol), the sushi was a real low. Gotta say this places days are numbered. Hoboken isn’t exactly a restaurant paradise, but the serious uptown competition will crush las Olas.

The food was ok — I got two different rolls; one I ate because I was hungry and it wasn’t that bad — the other I simply didn’t finish. Service was terrible. Took a long time to get our drinks ordered, for them to arrive, to find our waitress to get another round, to find our waitress to order our food, etc. The food actually came out pretty quickly — probably because the restaurant was relatively empty and there was no excuse for slow service. Our check never came. I had to search for our waitress twice in order to even find her and ask for our check. She was hanging out behind the bar. Our other friends got their check too, put their cards in, and she never brought it back. We ended up trying to leave and asked for their check back so we could actually get out of the place. Not worth the time. There’re places with better food, better prices, and better service.

Came here twice, and my date and I concluded to do taco Tuesday every week. Zero complaints on quality of the food, service, and the vibe of this food fusion restaurant. I love that you could order Mexican and/or Japanese food(which most likely always happens). Drink prices are a little high but i don’t doubt in its delivery judging off of the food. So make sure you find out when those specials are! In addition, walk 5 mins to Pier 13 for a movie under the stars and share a bucket or two if you didn’t cop that pricey cocktail at Las Olas. Hoboken in the summertime is where it’s at!

I don’t think any other place in hoboken can do better than $ 2 tacos on tuesdays. Its a bit of a hidden spot because most people think they only serve sushi but surprisingly they make some pretty good mexican food. I tried each of the four different kinds of tacos offered and my ranking from best to worst is as follows: steak, pork, chicken, fish. The steak taco was cooked well which went really well with the sauce they used. The pork was smothered in barbecue sauce which was great but i wouldn’t recommend getting more than one unless you really love your barbecue sauce. The chicken and fish tacos were mediocre. I also ordered the guacamole and chips as an appetizer. They really load up on the chips which comes with three different kinds of guacamole(corn, pineapple and cheese). My overall experience here was really good. I plan on coming back for the other weekday specials.

Taco Tuesday review! Came beer for the $ 2 taco Tuesday, and the deal is exactly that; smaller versions of their normal monster tacos for $ 2 a piece; choice of 5 varieties. Tired four of them, chicken, steak, fish, and pork, and all were excellent. For $ 8, I left stuffed and content. This is one of the best deals in town. And oh yeah, it’s tasty.

Love Love Love this place for their different specials throughout the week. We like all the specials but the BEST is Taco Tuesday with $ 2 Tacos(all included except the Shrimp). I’m a huge fan of ALL the tacos but especially the fish… cannot rave enough about the fish tacos. yum yum. The stuff I dream about :-). Always end up ordering a second round! My least favorite are the steak tacos which are pretty bland and«well done».bleah. Our 2nd favorite night is Thursday night wing night. $ 12 all you can eat! They come out 5 at a time so you can try all the flavors. I particularly love the asian, buffalo, and sriacha. So yum and so much variety. In general, I love coming here and sitting around the bar. There are undoubtedly fun and talkative locals to strike up a conversation with. They also play all sports so it’s great(I am a basketball fan and sometimes its hard to find an NBA game in Hoboken esp when hockey is on!) The employees here are also soooo nice and fun and remember everyone’s faces and names. Such a great neighborhood place. Love it!

Two words: Tuesday Tacos. Every Tuesday they offer $ 2 taco and it is great! Food is great and they offer lots of drink selection. My favorite is Fish Taco while my friend loves the steak and pork tacos. I think the shredded pork is too sweet but it’s a matter of personal preference.

$ 2 Tacos on Tuesday is a gut busting good deal. I’ve have said it before, but this place has the best tacos in Hoboken. Soft shell goodness come in chicken, steak, bbq pork, or fish. All include a fresh cut of ripe avacado. Usually you pay more for avacado, but not at Las Olas, Tacos are still only $ 2 during happy hour. All were really tasty but my favorites were the Steak & Chicken. Nice smokey char on the meat adds to the great flavors in ever bite. My friends had the Fish and Pork and said both were also tasty. Fish was light and flaky Tilapia baja style. You can order as many or as few as your want, which means a $ 2 Taco is always just an order away. If you come hungry starting off with 2 or 3 is perfect. The tacos are on the larger size, so you get a nice fill with each. Pair it perfectly with a seasonal IPA on draft and you have yourself probably the cheapest dinner you can find in Hoboken on a Tuesday. You can get a nice buzz going and have your belly feeling satisfied for under $ 20, if you play your cards right. The happy hour has drinks specials include Wine, Beer, and house Cocktails. Great draft selection of both your standard beers and some nice IPAs, including my favorite Lagunitas and Anchor. The bartender, I believe her name was Heather, is awesome!!! Happy Hour is available at the bar only, which more times than not means having to wait for a drink, but not here at Las Olas. Heather was friendly and quick with all our requests. She is a real pro who knows how to handle a full bar. Perfectly poured pints, expertly mixed cocktails, and a bartender who refills your water glass is always my new best friend. Not to mention she overhead a comment about wishing the soup had some green onions in it and went out of her way to get us a bowl of green onion to add as we ate. I can’t say enough nice things. Tip her well because she will take care of you! I think I found my new Tuesday spot. I mean where else can you get a drink and eat your fill for under $ 20. The place is a cheap bargain gem of a deal. Check it out if your hungry and on the hunt for mexican asian fusion. The tacos are true treats. Worth the trip!
