Variable quality and pretty uninspiring menu. There are much better options nearby in Hoboken.

I ordered the Signature Falafel. The naan was very burned and there was not enough tahini sauce. The falafel was dry. I won’t go back.

My friends took me here one evening and I am in love! The menu is opulent with various cuisines, ranging from sushi rolls to hot wraps. Dubious of the sushi at first(since this isn’t a Japanese restaurant), I opted for the tofu teriyaki wrap. My friends also got the sweet potato fries, chicken noodle soup, chipotle chicken sandwich, and beef sandwich(french dip style). All very tasty. I will try the sushi next time since one of the owners/chef is Japanese. The service was great too! The experience could have better if it wasn’t cinqo de mayo and we were next to one of the only Mexican joints in town. the couple permanently parked on the bench in front of the restaurant puking every 15 minutes diminished my appetite, but I still finished most of my meal!(That tells you how good it was).

On a trip to Hoboken from CA, My friend and I were walking around looking for some good soup. Lo and Behold, we came across a sandwich board listing five or six delicious tasting soup choices! They couldn’t possibly have ALL of those available, right? We stepped inside and found out. Not only did they have amazing soups to choose from, they had delicious salads and sandwiches too. The staff was LOVELY. they let us taste each soup before we chose, and they were very attentive. The food tasted fresh and good, the portions were big, and the prices were reasonable. This is the kind of place I’ve been begging for in Los Angeles that I just can’t find. It was so good, my friend and I went there three times during our visit. One dinner, one lunch, and one brunch with fantastic pancakes! Don’t walk by. Go in! You won’t be disappointed.

I am sorry to not have been the first one to review this because I had much different experience. I have zero to say about the existence of this restaurant as it relates to the food offerigns of Hoboken. I can only say that to date its the only Hoboken restaurant I have eaten in. I expected it to be much mroe of a sandwich grab and go place but I found they took the sit down and enjoy concept quite seriously. So I had to tell the guy at the counter, a very pleasant guy that we were in the rush. We eached ordered a soup and panini. He recommended half a paninin and the soup. We obliged and are we glad. The soup portion was so generous and so, so tasty. I had to rack my brain for a Butternut Squash soup I enjoyed so much and really it wasn’t until I thought about the Butternut Squash soup at the Ritz Carlton Las Vegas that I could a recall a soup that tasty, alothough prepared completely differently. My sister’s tomato bisque was equally as tasty and rich. The paninis were great too. We had to run out on this place and though it was a simple order to table service I tipped, but not generously enough so please make it up for me on your next sojourn here. Worth every bite.

In my 5 years here, I’ve seen many restaurants come and go on Washington Street. While I can’t be sure of the exact number that have opened and closed, I am sure that I do not have enough fingers and toes to count them. I always found it amazing that even in a town saturated with bars and eateries, that there would still be enterprising individuals would still try to get their share of the pie. They must understand that they need to stand out in order to survive, but how does this restaurant stack up against the rest? The first thing that will catch your attention while you walk by is the unusual green color that the restaurant is draped in. I personally love the color green(I have a green carpet and a green accent wall in my room at home), but I am not so sure about the combination of greens that they have in their restaurant. While they may be going for the green and organic look, I might just personally be biased but the additions of some strange looking kitchen cabinets for their counter make it look like my bathroom. But what else stands out besides the décor when you walk in is the attentive and personal service that you receive from the staff. The waitress, chefs, and even the owner were very warm and welcoming. It made some of the little short comings, like our table missing a salt shaker or a tiny ant that joined us for lunch, seem less of a problem. Now moving onto what really defines a restaurant, I’m not sure if it is just me, but I found it quite awkward that they offered breakfast sandwiches, Panini’s, wraps, and sushi all on the same menu. In order to have a fair sampling of their cuisine, I ordered a California chicken wrap, chipotle chicken sandwich, and an S.K. Mold sushi order. I also had their fresh squeezed blueberry lemonade as a drink on the recommendation of the waitress. I definitely could tell that the lemonade was mad from real lemons, I couldn’t really identify the peculiar after taste that the drink, and the rest of our food had. I was really expecting a kick in the Chipotle sandwich, but instead I my only surprise was that the chicken they used was a bit dried out. However, both the wrap and the sandwich were comparable to other restaurants in Hoboken both in quality and in price. What really stood out was the sushi that I had ordered. Listed under«Innovative Sushi Design,» the roll was a bit pricey but definitely worth the price and could be compared to some of the better sushi restaurants in the area. For desert, both my guest and I ordered their smoothies that only stood out because of their use of too much ice. Usually I am very excited about peanut butter smoothies, but the addition of protein powder really turned me off to their offering. The Signature Kitchen had its ups and downs, but all in all it was an average dining experience. What their food and décor may have lacked, their stellar service really made up for. Just from the quality of ingredients they used, I could see their breakfast sandwiches being delicious, but I suppose I’ll have to try those another time. However in a town where restaurants come and go, can the Signature Kitchen make its mark on Hoboken? Only time will tell. P. S. Coming from a tech school, their website is appalling.
