Their regular slices are good, but their Sicilian ones are really great. It’s one of the better Pizza places in Hoboken, and the people who work there are friendly. Their Italian dishes are solid, but Pizza is what they do best. You really can’t go wrong ordering from here. It definitely belongs in your rotation.

Primarily a takeout spot, a few outside tables and a standing counter inside. The Sicilian slices($ 3.50) are good, better than the regular triangle slices($ 3) IMO. Very cheese-heavy slices. OK if you’re in the area, but I prefer the competition.

Decent if you want to grab a quick slice to go. However don’t plan on it being hot enough —they plop it in the oven for less than 2 minutes and it’s never enough.

Sicilians are phenomenal. Their sauce is sweet, tasty and plentiful. Regular slices are on the thin side. Doesn’t try to be anything other than a take-out pizza joint, something more pizzerias should look into.

Really good thin, crispy pizza. Unlike many pizzas that are dripping in oil, this one was not oily and that’s a huge bonus for me. Ordered the mushroom and sausage pizza, which came to $ 4. So worth it! Will definitely come again.

Order up a sicilian, walk over to pick-up, walk home and enjoy. Good stuff!

take out only! Sometimes the crowd can get sketchy. Depending on what time you go… I do like their pies though. We just got plain cheese and it was interesting. It wasn’t like the plain cheese you normally find. But had these layers of cheese and pizza sauce. Definitely worth a try!

I have been coming to uptown pizza for a while and although I feel it has been better in the past it still serves a good slice of pizza. I have never ordered a whole pie but the regular plain slice and the Sicilian are always good. I think it is one of the better pizza places in Hoboken but was definitely better a couple years ago.

I moved to Hobo three weeks ago, and have ordered in once and have stopped by to grab a slice twice, so I would venture to guess my analysis is pretty valid and encompassing. I guess you can make the argument that 3 weeks and 3 visits is not all encompassing, but I won’t be going back so it will have to do. The pizza is so-so, we ordered once and the pizza was a bit soggy but that may have more to do with the fact it was delivered(I live one block away, so don’t give that excuse to much credence). The second time I went there was after I came back from the city around 10pm with no dinner, so as you guessed I was a bit hungry. I ordered a slice and felt like I was still in NYC but not due to the flavor of the pizza but due to the price. We are in Hoboken people — $ 3 for a slice is reserved for the other side of the river. While I wish this review only was due to myso-so pizza, because quite honestly I wouldn’t care enough to write anything. However its not… My fiancée came back from Thanksgiving on Saturday evening. It was a bit chilly on Saturday evening around 9pm. Now I’m all for eating outside, under a few of premises. For example maybe if it was above 50 degrees or if its below 50 maybe with heat lamps. I know ingenious suggestion. But again — I am sorry this post has nothing to do with if Uptown Pizza has heat lamps or not(for the record they do not, and if they did I would recommend them using it on the pizza to make the delivered pizza a bit less soggy). This post has everything to do with the lack of customer service intelligence the manager has or had. When we got to the Pizzeria we noticed there were chairs and tables outside, so because it was a bit cold out we asked the gentleman at the register if we could move them in. He said yes — now one would think he would assist us — he did not, maybe he was perfecting how to improve their so-so pizza. We ordered two so-so slices and one Diet Pepsi and sat down. We were talking and debating about ordering an additional so-so slice to share. We decided that we would have another so-so slice and ordered from our register friend. The manager came to the register shortly thereafter but prior to the additional so-so pizza from being finished. He informed us that we weren’t allowed to sit inside and would need to move outdoors. We explained that we asked for permission and he informed us that he was the manager of this so-so pizzeria and was again informed we had to move. So we moved. We also moved the chairs and table back outside, because obviously this wasn’t within the job requirements of anybody at the pizzeria. And then we moved home. Now if you got to the end of this review, you have either decided one of three things. The pizza is so-so, the delivered so-so pizza is a bit soggy or you can’t eat inside Uptown Pizzeria. In all cases, I’ll assume you understand that there are better places to sit inside and spend $ 3 for a so-so slice of pizza.

This place is ehhh. Had a slice of meat pizza and it was a little under cooked. This was kinda hard to believe because the crust and pizza were very thin. The crust was also incredibly dry. $ 10 credit card minimum. Dollar pizza from just across the river is way better.

How anyone can knock Uptown shocks me. My cousin lived in The Shipyard for years and we walked across the street dozens of times to grab a slice from Uptown, never to be disappointed. I’d give this place a 3.5. You can order by the slice or by the pie. This thin crusted pizza is loaded with flavor and is a favorite to many after a night drinking. Whether drunk or sober you’ll be satisfied.

I am a pizza connoisseur. Trust me when I tell you that this is the best pizza you will EVER have. Make sure that you order with extra sauce though, otherwise it will be dry. There is no reason why this place should be rated behind the other landmark Hoboken/NYC pizza places. I have been to all of the pizza joints in Hoboken(Benny Tudinos, Grimaldis, etc.) and none of them can hold a candle to Uptown. All of the bad reviews for this place must be people who bought slices. I will admit they there are lacking in the slice department – undersauced and therefore dry. This is why I stress the importance of ordering a pie with extra sauce; it is necessary.

Slightly overpriced… And that’s the nicest thing I have to say about them. The chicken parm was def undercooked and there was a hair in my sandwich… Absolutely gross

This place is so underrated. Many see it as the only pizza place around but honestly it’s pretty good. Lots better than molfetta’s. The buff chick slice is a good addition. The subs(chicken parm, buffalo chicken, etc.) are all decent and reasonably priced too. Do it.

More like 3 to 3.5 stars, but since some reviewers seem unreasonably down on the place, I’m rounding mine up to balance things out. I come here mainly for snack or lunch slices on the weekend, and for that, this place fits the bill. They usually only have 5 or 6 thin-crust pies out at a time. One reviewer seemed to note that as a negative(less choice), but to me it’s a positive: fewer pies sitting around means quicker turnover and fresher slices. Compare that to a place like Basile’s, where they’ve got 20 pies out, 19 of which look days-old and completely congealed, and you’ll see why fewer is better. Even with only 6 choices, they cover a good range and always have something I’m interested in. In terms of the pizza itself, the thin-crust slices are pretty large, the sauce is on the sweet side, and the toppings and cheese are average /decent, but not special or top-notch. I wouldn’t put this place in the same league as Napoli’s, Grimaldi’s or Johnny Pepperoni, and if I’m ordering a whole pie or getting it for dinner, I’m going to one of those places, not here. As some other reviewers have noted, they also make a good sicilian slice, which I like every now and then as an(admittedly carbolicious) old school change-up. Somehow the sicilian slices always look just-out-of-the-oven fresh, and if you can grab a corner slice, you’re in for a treat. I guess I’m less price-sensitive than some other reviewers, but to be honest, I don’t really care if a slice is $ 2, $ 3 or $ 4 as long as it tastes good. If I were ordering 1000 slices it would matter, but for one or two, what’s the difference? Since I live a few blocks away, I usually walk here and get takeout, so I can’t comment on delivery. I can say that I’ve been here many times over the years, and the service has always been fast and friendly.

Ok so this review is for me coming here on July 4th after the fireworks but I still think the experience was ridiculous… They charged us $ 4.50 for a slice of pizza and the worst part is — they gave it to us cold. when my friend asked if they could warm it up some more, they said no its already warm. They also charged her $ 3 for a bottle of water. Fine– I understand you are going to charge people up the bazooka on a holiday but at least give us hot pizza. The only reason why i’m giving it a 2 instead of a 1 is b/c the pizza was half decent…

Pizza, Calzone, and Chicken Cutlet sandwich were 4 stars when you rate quality and price. Stromboli might have had more butter than crust, meat, and cheese so it was gross(0 stars). I’d go back and try other items. Overall, averaged out to 3 star rating

This is really in the 3.5 range but I am rounding down(unlike me). It’s definitely not as terrible as people say here. walked by around 7:30 to grab a slice. Ok, the slices are not NYC prices(meaning .99 cents) but rather $ 3.(It’s less than that for a pomodoro slice Ok, the slice price is a wee bit high given that the pizza is rather. 1) floppy, and 2) unvaried– not a lot of selection.(cheese, pepperoni, chicken with veg, etc) I got the white broccoli and while I liked the cheese, the broccoli was a bit sparse and the crust overall floppy so it didn’t really stay up when I tried to eat it. They do have some thicker slices– the Sicilian and whatnot. The garlic knots(4 for $ 1) are AWESOME– so fluffy, buttery, and garlicy– real garlic! The marinara sauce is great too :). Better than the slices. The people are super duper nice though — they’re fast and they package everything for you in a nice to go box. Minus brownie points because there is no place for you sit down inside :(. It’s def a to go place.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been living on that side of the river, but this place had one of the tastiest Buffalo Chicken Pizzas and very solid BBQ Chicken Pizzas that I have ever eaten. If your’re in the area, it’s definately worth a visit.

What a terrible pizza place. One of the problems with uptown Hoboken is the lack of walk-in/pick-up food places. Vito’s and the other delis close by 6 or 7pm, and most of the bars are a little pricey for a quick casual meal. The food trucks on 14th st by The Shipywards are a great idea, but they’re never consistently there(and can get chased away by the Hoboken Parking Authority at any second). So you think Uptown Pizza would be able to fill a nice niche with virtually no competitors in the immediate area(unlike Newark/Hudson/1st with like 5 places in 2 blocks). But no, either they don’t know what they are doing, or they get so much business from the late night/drunk crowd(from City Bistro/Hudson/Madison) they just don’t care. I’ve been there a bunch of times and every time I order a slice, they never leave it in the oven long enough to heat it(even after I ask them to). The cheese tastes a day old, the sauce has no flavor, and the crust isn’t good at all. I like to judge a pizza place by their plain slices, and I can say that I’ve enjoyed the $ 1 slices from 2 Brothers in the city more than their $ 3.00 slice of blandness. Sorry guys.
