I bought a jacket for my daughter at the golf road store at about 2pm. When the cashier took off the security device the price tag came off with it. Not thinking much of it I put it in my pocket and she apologized. The jacket was too small and I had to return it but was on the way home so I opted to take it back to a closer location(Sutton Rd. store in Hoffman Estates) Upon arrival I approached«lena» at the counter and told her of my intentions, she scanned it and proceeded to tell me that the tag did not match the jacket and since it was not still connected to the garment it could not be returned. WAIT!?! I just bought this jacket less than 3 hours ago! I pleaded with her to just call the other store and verify my story and she adamantly refused. By the way there was only one other person in line and they were somewhat dead. I kept insisting that she call the other store or refund my money and she kept refusing when all of a sudden her colleague came out of nowhere and started with the condescending scolding, talking very direct and slowly to me enunciating every word all while using the universal«finger sway» I am a very educated 45 year old businessman that is also a veteran of the US Army and I can carry on and comprehend conversations very well. Seeing that I was getting nowhere and feeling very embarrassed by the treatment of these 2 girls I decided to pack up my jacket and leave. I asked Lena her associates name(already knowing it as I saw her tag when she approached) she answered«I don’t know her name, it is her first day on the job» I returned by saying«well I would like to introduce you to Charlene then!» If that was actually Charlene’s first day and that was her idea of positive customer engagement she is in the wrong industry. At no time was a manager called over or did they even attempt to call the other store. The next day I called corporate and told them. soon after i get the BS call from the store Manager with all the canned responses and he set up the return. I added up my spending from TJ last year(2013) and it came in at just less than 5000 dollars. I will never step foot in there again .

You know this place is good if I came back 3 times in a 24 hour period! A little birdie told me that they have Justice clothing. Always looking for a bargain, I headed over with my little girl and our friends! They had a nice selection of girl’s clothing, but that’s definitely not their strong point or who they’re marketing towards. This location is geared towards the ladies/juniors rather than kids, shoes, housewares, etc. Not that that’s a bad thing since I love to shop, but if you’re looking for a HUGE selection of anything but women’s clothes, you might want to head elsewhere. The things we did buy, however, were super cute. I bought a couple shirts, sweatshirts, dresses, etc, for the grand total of $ 73. I also bought a bunch of housweares and some dresses for me the next day. Their prices were fantastic, and the selection was great!

Since I had lost a lot of weight, I have been shopping at a lot of clothing stores a lot more often. TJ Maxx, also part of the Marshall’s chain, is no exception. They seem to have a wider selection of accessories like purses and have a different variety of name brand designer clothing, bags, shoes, etc. than Marshall’s does, which is good considering I like to have variety. Also, to top it off, they are still as competative with their prices as Marshall’s is. So I don’t have to break the bank when rebuildling my new wardrobe. This time around, I bought at least 8 items of clothing and spent under 90 dollars! I liked the purse selection at TJ Maxx vs. Marshall’s so, I will be definitely returning if the purse buying bug bites. :) I love TJ Maxx! Time for me to be a Maxxanista! :)
