Awesome selection, lots of additional items since they moved into the larger store across the parking lot (into the old Staple’s store). Patio furniture, bbq’s, lumber and garden departments are all new.
The staff is helpful to the point of being annoying. Lots of young employees who do not have the life experiences or home improvement experience to give advice. It’s just too bad that the floor staff is not experienced in home improvements. They know where stuff is, but forget seeking any advice. Dumb looks are still free!
I’m glad that I rarely need help, other than locating things in this new, brightly lit store with wide aisles and LOTS OF STUFF !! Just when I knew where everything was, they moved…
They have almost everything to make minor home repairs. For larger stuff or huge quantities, you still have to go to the local lumber yard or the BIG ORANGE WAREHOUSE in Gilroy. Their prices are high, but the time and gas savings are a huge offset.

My brother & I were there to just look around. & we spotted these metal signs i didn’t know what old show the people on the sign were from so I asked a sales associate, who happily & charismatically informed us. A few weeks back my mom & I needed some soil, Kevin once again happily helped us out to the car struck up conversation, etc. Ace definitely is the helpful place thanks to him. If it’s possible to major in customer service in college, he should teach the class!

The store is kind of small will be nice when they move over to the old staples area I love that they carry Valspar paint now people are pretty nice seem to know what they’re talking about

Okay so I have always been a fan of the ace hardware store but I have to say that since moving to Hollister I love that store. The staff are incredibly friendly there always helpful and now that the store is moving to the old Staple store they say they’re going to have a garden department which is going to be credible because her prices are usually the best in town. Finally, I have found a store that has so many things on sale… you got to check out their seasonal sale aisle as they have the best prices for umbrellas, out door furniture and barbecue pits that I have seen anywhere, you wouldn’t really expect it but it’s true.

I’ve gone here for ant killer, paint, screws, keys, piping all in the last 3 months and the staff is so friendly and helpful/​knowledgeable and they remember you. This is just a great store to go to! i live by true value but i make the drive to ace. they don’t have everything so i have to go to the depot but this is my first stop. I’ve also been to the one in salinas and same deal, great staff and products.

A lady in a hardware store does not do well! Luckily Kevin (coolest sales associate that works there, he reminds me of one of my high school teachers) helped me find the exact screw I needed and now I know the difference between a screw and a bolt lol:) The prices are good but what really stood out to me was the customer service. I appreciated that. And yes it is true it is hardly ever busy and the location is convenient, its just across the target parking lot.

I have never left this store without a part or tool that I needed to finish a job. The men and women that work here are diverse in their knowledge and skill set. If someone can’t help you, they find two others in the store that can.
Great location and rarely too busy!
I don’t have and Ace card, they always ask if I do. Maybe I should finally get one.
