11⁄17 — HOLLYWOODRUNCLUBMEETUP @ 7 p.m. I was invited to meet the Hollywood Run Club by some members I met this past Thursday at another runner’s meet up. We met at 300 Connecticut Drive. There is a public parking garage there, very safe. You pay the meter(cash or credit) plus they have one at every floor for your convenience. When you get to the bottom floor, there are bathrooms, tennis courts and eating areas. The group meets up every Tuesday at 7pm here. It was a pretty large group, around 50 poeple. They stretch, take pictures, and are super friendly. We started running towards the new Margaritaville Resort area. There are plenty of shops and restaurants on the boardwalk. You are running on brick pavers, asphalt and concrete. There are areas where it can get a bit dark so if you are running at night, run with a buddy, and bring a small flashlight you can hang on your waist belt. There are all kinds of level runners, I ran 3 miles, some ran over 6 miles. At the end, everyone stretches and hangs out, some meet at the restaurants near by. I highly recommend running with a group at times. My mile pace improved significantly. Overall, it is a nice, secure area to run and exercise, or bring your furry friends.

Coming from Texas(where public parks do not always receive the upkeep that they need), I was very impressed with the amenities and beauty of Charnow Park during my April 2015 visit. We were here on a sunny Sunday morning for the annual Race Home 5K down the boardwalk of Hollywood Beach. The nearby parking and the clean & functional bathrooms were very helpful, as were the splash pad and beach showers(for post-race cooling off). Perhaps our early start gave us an advantage, but we had no trouble getting parking. By the time our race event was finished, there were many people out on the beach & boardwalk, but it was by no means uncomfortably crowded. Everyone seemed friendly & in good spirits, and why not? Sharing a gorgeous space at seaside certainly brings out the smiles in me!

Not a great place for toddlers, better suited for ages 5+. Water is freezing and it’s very crowded. The adjacent beach had beautiful water but the sand was littered with cigarette butts.

This cute little park is located near the boardwalk on Hollywood Beach. If you are having an event then you can rent one of the gazebos to hold it. There are also water/splash areas for the kids along with things for them to climb on. The only problem is the parking, minor issue but not that big. The Good — Location The Bad — Parking Would I Come Back — Yes

I came here the other day for a birthday party — what a wonderful little place! My friends rented a pavilion for four hours, and all of us commented on how great the location is for a party. In the past, they’ve gotten pavilions at John U. Lloyd, but we had no view of the water there. Charnow Park’s location, however, couldn’t be better. It’s right on the broadwalk with a lovely ocean view, and a parking garage just behind it that only charges $ 1.50 per hour. Hollywood is my favorite beach, but I’ve always hated parking here, so discovering this garage is huge for me :)

Really nice, cool atmosphere during 4th of July weekend. They had live music that was really cool. The fireworks right off the beach was awesome.

Great place to take the little ones. Charnow Park has been totally transformed with four new picnic pavilions, a new entertainment pavilion and pergola-shaded seating areas. Two new playgrounds for different age groups offer innovative play equipment with an artificial soft grass safety surface. It includes an interactive water fountain and rock climbing. Directly behind the park is the paddle ball courts and a new five story garage.
