The best NY style pizza in South Florida that I have found so far. The minute I stepped into the pizzeria I could tell by the wonder aroma that I had found the real deal! It’s no thrills dining until you take your first bite of this heavenly pizza pie!

Pizza is extremely good I would give it a 5 but the service and people here are terrible! The girl who was attending me was so rude when I told her it was to go she gave me an attitude and put it in the box and handed it to me in a rude way. I also asked her if the ATM machine was working and she responded with a «I don’t know I think so» which I thought was rude how do you work there and not know whether it’s working or not.

They give you a consistent slice that’s cheap and tasty. if you want a shop who will bend rules and make exceptions, this is not the place to go. I love the no parm sign!

If you’re from Ny or Nj then you’ll appreciate this spot. The pizza and crust are amazing. I gave it 3 stars because they’re not customer friendly. There’s a laundry-list of NO’s posted on the wall throughout. No ice, no cups and like 10 others, along with other signs that make you feel like maybe you should just leave. Not the best experience but if you’re ok with that, then by all means!

Ordered delivery on a Friday night. The large is huge so be careful the box will not fit in the refrigerator. Best pizza in the area. We had the large with extra cheese, mushroom and sausage. Our favorite cooked nice and thin. Even though the delivery time was about 45 minutes it was delivered hot.

Pizza is great pretty close to New york. And I mean close! But the help is never ever friendly. Dont know were they get their help but must be a prerequisite to be rude and not smile. But i will deal with the counter trolls pay them the tolls, just to eat the yummy pizza!

This place reminds me soooo much of how Casola’s(in Miami) started. A hole in the wall place with delish pizza. Exepect Mauro’s is a million times better than Casola’s. The slices are extremely large, and they are open late. The perfect late night drunken munchies! We always come here in our drunken stupor after leaving PRL, or the pub. $ 3 cheese slice, cash only. See you this weekend Mauro’s!

I got a cheese and pineapple pizza slice and it was fire. It was my first time eating here and it’s awesome. I personally like the signs on the wall because I work in a small business restaurant and I wish there was signs to direct 90% of the idiots who ask obvious questions or hearing the same stuff over and over again. If you’ve worked in any customer service you would know how annoying and rude people can be. Maybe they could be a little more welcoming but I don’t care I like the pizza and I’ll come back. Just don’t be needy get your ish and leave.

Ginormous slice. It’s the right balance of flavors and delicious. When you want to have pizza, but not a whole pizza, it’s the best place to pop in for a slice! I mean, really, you should never eat a whole pizza.

There is nothing good about this place except the location, and the pizza! What more do you need when you’re craving pizza? I’m from Brooklyn, so I know good pizza, and I actually like this place better than your average NY pizzeria! If you are looking for a nice place, this isn’t it, this is where you go when you crave good pizza, nothing else!

The crust is good, the slices are generous, the atmosphere is blah. Basically, they take cheese pizza slices and add toppings and flip it back in the oven for a bit. So the toppings are warm, but not cooked. I had a ham and pineapple slice, and a slice of italian sausage and mushroom. The ham was surprisingly good, nice and smokey. The mushrooms are tinned, I suppose a necessity when they are not cooked in the oven. It is a properly made thin crust pie, the only critique is that the sauce is slightly sweeter than I prefer. It isn’t pretty, cash only, no utensils, but then it is folding pizza, isn’t it?

Love this place! I normally don’t crave pizza but when I do, I crave thin crust New York style. I thought I was S.O.L. until I found out that Mauro Pizza is just over 5 minutes from my place. Now, Mauro’s Pizza is very… «what you see is what you get». Nothing flashy or showy; there is a counter you order from, there’s a cooler with bottles and cans of soda and beer behind the counter, and then there’s the huge ovens that are constantly consuming and regurgitating fresh, delicious pizza. I have only gone in the afternoon but I have never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for my pizza. Their pies are HUGE… and their slices are two paper plates long. Very simple and straightforward. You can order by the slice and add toppings for an extra buck, or you can order by the pie. Eating two slices works perfect for me — I usually get one pepperoni and one italian sausage(slices, not ground). I tend to be picky about my crust — I LOVE Mauro’s crust, flavorful and doughy, not oily or bready. Perfect amount of sauce and cheese, not too much or too little of either. The place is cash only, no exceptions, come prepared. The signs will also instruct you not to ask for parmesan cheese, silverware, or ice. It is what it is, take it or leave it; I think it’s fantastic and delicious and will return often. After your pizza, sneak over to PRL for some delicious beer!

****They only take CASH**** We ended up here after a night out in Hollywood. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza($ 3) and a bottle of water($ 1.50). The pizza was enormous and delicious. My boyfriend and I only had $ 5 in cash so we decided to split the huge slice of cheese and it worked out perfectly. They were nice enough to slice it in half so we didn’t make a complete mess trying to eat it. I only really like cheese pizza but I overheard someone else ordering and the man behind the counter told him that there was a maximum of three toppings per slice and that each slice was $ 1 extra. I thought that was a little strange and pricey for toppings but all in all I liked this place. They really need to start accepting credit cards though!

I love Mauros ! Large slices of pizza! Great prices! They have a couple tables outside if you do not mind eating around loud drunk people or people begging for money.

«Cash only.» «No parmesan cheese, and don’t ask.» «If you are on a cell phone, you will not be taken care of.» Lots of No’s posted around this business. Does it sound like a hostile environment? Some might argue that yes it is. Amusing? Sure. But I actually do see the business’ points; perhaps way too many people ask the same old question over and over and that gets annoying after a while. Mauro Pizza is an alright place in Downtown Hollywood, Florida, though you probably shouldn’t expect such friendly service in that sense. Pizza slices are really huge compared to what I’ve seen from other places in the past and they weren’t bad at all, though the only kind I ordered was their cheese pizza slices. It is indeed cash only, but I think for what it has and is, it’s worth a try or two. Just get in, order what you need, and then on your way out. And no, don’t be talking on your cell phone when ordering, hehe!

Do you know it’s very difficult walking around Down Town Hollywood hungry and you don’t have a clue on what you want to eat. There are many restaurants to choose from specializing in Greek, Irish, French, Italian, West Indian, American, Latin, and Japanese cuisine. But I was starving and wanted to grab something quickly. That’s when I came across Mauro Pizza. Small pizza place that only accepts cash. Don’t worry, if you don’t have much cash on you, there’s an ATM right near the entrance. The lady behind the counter was very nice as she heated my cheese slice in the oven for less than 5 minutes. In my opinion, the slice was big enough for 2 people to share, but in my hungered state, I tore that slice up. It was pretty good. Not too oily, thin crust baked to a golden brown, and the cheese and tomato sauce was sufficient in taste. Oh yes, I shall return to indulge in that big slice of pizza again.

Great pizza except the customer service there is terrible, almost every employee has a chip on their shoulder and they aren’t very hospitable or nice to clients. Young stuck up and snotty girls and they fire n hire new ones all the time But the pizza is good so I just get a slice and leave as quick as I can. They don’t offer parmesan cheese and you can’t pay with card, it’s cash only so $ 3 for a slice is all you should really ever need to spend there.

Really good pizza in a tiny shop. Follow the rules on the board or risk not getting your pizza. It’s sad that the rules are really just to use good manners(don’t talk on your phone while you order, don’t ask for crazy stuff). I always get the pepperoni. Cash only.
