Tardes Caleñas Bar Restaurant

Below average, bathrooms dirty no paper towels to dry your hands. Food was ok not great.

We had not planned on eating here but rather Buleria, a spanish tapas restaurant a few doors down but they were closed.
We started with a Arepa De Chocolo and 2 empanadas. They were both good but the Arepa would have been better if heated longer. The empanadas were very good. Since we were not super hungry we spilt 1 Bandeja Paisa. The beef and the beans were great, the Chicharron was just too greasy.
The service could improve which is the reason for the 3 stars

Went for lunch. Ordered a kiwi drink, garlic shrimp with platanos and rice. The flavors on the shrimp was correct! And the server was a darling. Good eats!

I was really disappointed that every thing I would ask the waiter for on the menu she would say it was discontinued. They should redo the menu if that is the case. I went at noon for lunch and she said there was no more steak and only had a few lunch specials left. There are plenty of good Colombian places. Don’t waste your time here just to get disappointed

Absolute worst restaurant ever!!! I wish there was a zero star option! Not only is it in dismal downtown Hollywood, it is a dirty, unfriendly, uninviting overall experience. Wanted to try something new and sometimes that is not the best thing to do. This was definitely one of those times!!!
Food — Takes and while to come out and you would think would taste homemade. WRONG — not the case. It taste like a frozen meal from Costco which I would imagine is where they buy their ingredients having seen some of their trash on way to bathroom.
Bathroom — speaking of bathroom… here is an idea. Clean it!!! If my wife had gone in their during our meal we would have left immediately. I know I saw some kind of feces on the ground. It appeared to be rat droppings.
Service — For those who love being ignored and treated rudely please visit this place as that seems to be exactly what you get having read other reviews on Unilocal. We had the worst service I have ever had here!!!
I could go on and on but I hope everyone that reads this gets the point. Do not waste your time at this place.

Food was ok but not worth the wait. First they ignored us, after 10 minutes waiting the waitress came and we ordered something to drink. After another 10 min waiting she took our ordered and then we where waiting again, but this time for an hour! Customers who where seeded after us got their food before us, after complaining we finally got our food! Which was ok, not outstanding I had better Colombian food. And they had the nerve to include a service charge! Never again!

I had the seafood casserole which more of new England chowder type of dish and it was spectacular. My waitress was very pleasant to deal with. I enjoyed dining here very much.

I was optimistic about this place because it’s really difficult to mess up Colombian food, but let me tell you, they succeeded. The chicken filling in my arepa was disgusting, the churrasco was just okay (probably the best thing on our table) and the rest of our food was subpar. If you go anywhere else for Colombian food, it would be so much better than it is here. Also, the service was terrible. The women took forever to get our food out (slowly brought the plates out one at a time) and one of them literally have me attitude for ordering two arepas. Also, the music last night was so annoying and I could barely hear the waitresses over it. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.

Worst restaurant ever!!!
I came to this restaurant cause of a friend. Service took forever to get the table and when he finally order. The server was with horrible attitude. The food arrive and I have to return cause of wrong order. 3^rd time the hot did arrive all nasty. The took the salsa of the bread that was wet and put the hot dog. The fresh fries some of them had green. The server was to busy eating and never went to check the table. When she finally decided to go to the table I return the food. I only have 1 empanada and 1 Coke. Tip was I included.
It sucks that places like this have the tip include.
The restaurant was empty. Worst experience ever!
Please don’t go here. Quality of food and services sucks and they still have the nerve to put tip include.

Had a party of 17 people to celebrate a bday last Saturday night. The service was awful and the food was just ok. We had 1 waitress for the whole table. They had a lady singing outside but the music played by the dj was better after she stopped singing. They dont have a liquor license so don’t expect a full bar. They only sell beer and wine.
I am Colombian and this place was an embarrassment. Don’t waste your time.

Me encanto el sitio muy agradable, la comida estaba muy rica las empanadas deliciosas, música en vivo, estuvo muy bien …

One star is not enough! I’m colombia I love Bandeja paisa, but the one here has no taste. Even the chicharron taste old and bad, the ceviche taste old and aged, the shrimp is not clean and the tail is still attached to it.
They charge double tip (one service charge + the tip you will normally leave)
If you want a pleasant food experience don’t come here

Great food and down to earth staff. Enjoyed the meal and service. Live music was an added bonus (Oscar Arce)

Food is very good. Topical Colombian. I tried cheese empanada and chicken with rice. All good. Ladies are very attentive. We also get coffees here all the time. Recommended!

I wish there was an option for no stars. We went to this restaurant because it was recommended by some friends. My husband was eating his arepa when he pulled out the longest piece of hair ever from his mouth. There was a long hair that was cooked into the arepa. I told the owner lady about it and she said she wouldn’t charge for his plate but she ended charging us anyway and when we asked her about it she just said fine then just don’t leave tip and started making excuses about how they order the arepas from somewhere else. Who cares where they are from as the owner of the restaurant you take responsibility and the least you can do is not charge for the plate. Ughh never again plus it was pricey for some rice and beans and soup. It was also very hot in the place. Don’t waste your time here.

It was a decent restaurant. Per their empanadas the queso empanadas were the best out of the two choices available. (Beef or cheese). Order lulu drink.
We ordered the entraña but it was surprisingly small. At every other colombian restaurant the entraña is extremely filling for two people. But the ambience was really nice and comforting. Hollywood deserves to be busier. It’s a nice city.

Food is horrible!!! I ordered salad, which I find the easiest thing to make! Good thing I was drinking wine not relying on their bartending skills :-\

Muy sabroso y casero… pedimos bandeja paisa, sancocho de costilla y pescado frito… lo mejor de todo fue la atención, siempre atentos y cordiales.

Mi primera y única vez en este restaurante!!!
Un día antes del partido de Colombia vs Brasil, fui ahí a separar una mesa para ir con mi familia y pasar un rato agradable y ver el partido. Ese día que separé la mesa estaba el dueño y fue muy formal… pidiéndome el anticipo $$$ para la mesa que yo quería. Todo estuvo genial hasta el otro día que llegué junto con mi familia… la mesa que había separado y acordado con el dueño (la que me cobro un dia antes) estaba ocupada por otro grupo de personas. Obviamente me molesté mucho porque la seriedad y la palabra viniendo del propio dueño no sirvió para nada!!!
Yo molesta le pregunte a la mesera y al dueño porqué mi mesa estaba ocupada. «Groseramente me dijo: allá en la esquina va ser su mesa y si no le gusta bien pueda y se puede ir a otro lado»
Cómo es posible que ese señor sea tan guache y mal educado diciéndome media hora antes de comenzar el partido que si no me parecía me podía ir. Cuando un día antes me había cobrado para la mesa!
Estando toda mi familia parada (eramos más de 10 personas) no me quedo otro remedio que sentarme en la esquina dónde no se veía el televisor y comer ahí ya que era demaciado tarde para buscar otro lado y comer junto a mi familia.
No solamente eso, las meseras para atendernos se demoraron una eternidad, la comida llegó 40 min después de ordenarla y nunca volvieron a regresar a la mesa a decir si queríamos algo más.
La atención PÉSIMA. EL lugar no tenia aire acondicionado… todo fue HORRIBLE!!!
No recomiendo este restaurante Para Nada!!!
Desde el dueño que fue un grosero y mal educado hasta la comida.

It was nice climate to having outside table with my friend today. Food came out with good amount, but i think it could be more warmer.
our server was friendly and sweet.
The reason i gave them only 3star isnt their lack of communication skills in english. because
they didnt have any soup on weekdays (friday) and they didnt even have pan de bono witch i was craving for.

This should get no stars. My friend and I had lunch there and it was empty which should have been a red flag! The steak was cold and the beans were not cooked but they tasted and looked old. They brought are platanos maduro out way after the food. I wouldn’t have eaten if I wasn’t starving. The waitress asked how it was and we said horrible! She said it didn’t look right but, she still brought it out. Never again!

The food was awesome. We order Picada pa dos y empanadas de carne queso y pollo. It was very tasty and great. Plus the lemonade was very good made from scratch. I highly recommend the place!

They are open late, the food is good, not bad at all! The lunch portions are really big too. The only thing that sucks, is that they sometimes play music really loud. I don’t eat while dancing, and I don’t dance while eating… Please put the music DOWN!

A family owned and operated restaurant. The food is great and the service is excellent. If you want great Colombian food at a good price I highly recommend this place.
