Maria’s Family Place

I run Grooms Motors & Automotive on the island. Trying to find a place with great food and that is affordable is not easy. I can eat at Maria’s 3 – 4 (sometimes 5 :)) a week and not get tired of it. Very friendly you can tell they are in the business to see people love their food and not all profits. I’ve never had a bad meal and I AWAYS get my money’s worth.

Very nice staff. Got here at 8am not crowded. End of April. Crab cakes Benedict. Would have been 5 stars if egg yolk was runny all the way through.

Fabulous breakfast place. This is the first time I have tried this restaurant and I am very happy with the food. I had the crabby sensation omelette with home fries. Both were very tasty and fresh. My boyfriend had the smoked sausage egg platter with hash brown casserole. It was delicious and you could tell it was homemade. They hash brown casserole had an original flavor and could have been an entrée all by itself.
The service was fantastic too! Our server was very attentive and even offered me a coffee to go when I left. All of the employees have a great dynamic and their conversations with each other we’re keeping us laughing.

Loved breakfast at this family establishment! Great service and fresh food. Can’t wait to try lunch or dinner.

Walked to Maria’s this morning for breakfast and we’re glad we walked. We had gone to another restaurant earlier in the week publicized as one of the best for breakfast, but Maria’s blew it away. We knew it was going to be a good start to the morning when we were asked as soon as we sat down, «Mimosa?» My wife had a gyro, spinach, cheese omelet and cleaned her plate. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits, and I was informed it was homemade, with eggs and home fries. Everything was delicious. The servings were generous thus the need to walk back home. There’s no doubt we’ll be walking back to Maria’s soon.

We’ve been coming to Anna Maria for over a decade and have watched the restaurant go through many iterations. Hopefully ths one will stick. The restaurant is small and cozy. We didn’t have reservations but we think that as word gets out Maria’s will be high on everyone’s list.
Maria’s has recently added a dinner menu and we thought we’d try it. Great decision!
Maria herself waited on our table and couldn’t have been more informative or friendly. We followed her recommendations and were all highly satisfied with our dinners… lamb chops, basa, spaghetti and a great salad were the dinner choices. The Greek-​lemon soup was fantastic and the gelato wonderful.
Maria’s suggested wine was a hit with all of us.
The prices were quite moderate…$ 12-​$ 19 dinners.
Maria herself was charming and seemingly loves her work. We will be heading back to Maria’s a few more times in the next couple weeks. There were many menu choices we will try based upon our experience.

This terrific breakfast/​lunch restaurant is now open for Dinner Wed-​Sat! I am an island resident who so appreciates the staff’s welcoming family style service and great mediterranean influenced entrees at very fair prices. We had the broiled seafood special and baked spaghetti bolognese and they were both amazing and served up with such friendly, casual manner that we felt right at home immediately. Beer and wine, fresh bread and savory soups and sides complete the meals. Save room and don’t miss the homemade gelato in decadent irresistable flavors. Bravo Maria and staff on job well done! We will see you again soon.

My husband and I were staying at Anna Maria Island and we had a difficult time finding restaurants that had vegetarian options. We called Maria’s Family Place and they said they would accomadate us. We went there tonight and we had the best meal. The chef made us a baked spaghetti with assorted vegetables and it was truly the best I have ever had. Besides the delicious food, Maria and the others were the nicest and sweetest people. Unfortunately, we only have one more day of vacation, but we will stop by for breakfast on our way off the island. Thank you Maria for a wonderful expierence. First time came for breakfast and today for lunch. We ordered a grilled fish sandwich, cold tuna platter, the Greek salad and the gyro. It was all delicious and freshly prepared. The service and attention were also great. Will come back on our next trips to AMI.

What a great little spot. The homemade food was DELICIOUS and HOT! The sautéed vegetables were awesome and I could eat the lemon chicken soup every day. Wow! We will certainly be back!

Best breakfast anywhere! Everything we sampled in two visits was especially tasty (the link sausages, for instance). The menu is diverse and creative with touches of Greek, Southwest, and Floridian preparations. We asked for modifications to the menu items and were accommodated cheerfully (e.g., spinach in place of potatoes). The hashbrown casserole, however, isn’t to be missed! It’s a delightful mix of classic hashbrowns with melted cheese (so much for subbing veggies for the potatoes). Service was prompt and cheerful, and the kitchen flexible and accommodating. It’s our new go-​to place on Anna Maria Island for breakfast.

The service was friendly; the mimosas were the way I like them :) The crab cake benedict was out of this world — best crab cakes I’ve ever had! The biscuits and gravy were wonderful, too. ENJOY!

Delicious breakfast. Had the hash, cheesey potatoes and scrambled eggs. All served by a lovely waitress named Cindy. I’d give a five but I thought the coffee was a little weak. We’ll be back!

Maria’s place is a little hole in the wall that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. The are open most days from 7 – 3. The breakfast was okay. Nothing awful but nothing really outstanding either. If you’re on the island give them a shot maybe you will like them. Friendly staff and food came out in a timely manner.

Great, local place for breakfast. Everything was homemade. We tried the waffle and egg special and the smoked sausage and eggs. The cheesy hash browns had a yummy spice in them that have great flavor. The hash browns also looked yummy. I didn’t try the mimosas but they were generous pours!

They take American Express which was a huge plus as a lot of places are cash only. Very nice service. Came in for pick up and server anticipated needs I hadn’t thought of. Like extra milk for my oatmeal! Generous portion sizes and most importantly, delicious.

Huge breakfast sandwiches to go. Reasonable prices and huge portions. Friendly service. Nothing fancy but great value on island

Nice breakfast spot. I liked the small outdoor area if you want to bring your pet too– water bowls provided for the pups. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. I wasn’t too hungry, so I ordered one biscuit and gravy which wasn’t really anything to rave about. (Personally, I like my husband’s better). but the side of bacon I had was cooked perfectly crispy and I tried some of my mom’s cheesy casserole which was delish! There are lots of good omelet options, which my mom and her friend both ordered (the special that day). They both loved their omelets.

Love it here! This morning was my first time going since they changed the name/​changed owners. AWESOME service, so friendly and welcoming. The food was delish!!! Highly recommend this place!

This is a new location for Maria’s the people were as friendly as you could possibly find there are new owners the service was wonderful and friendly the restaurant is pet friendly also the food very nice well flavored highly recommend it
