I love the food, but please turn off FOX news in the bar. It’s toxic speech and I feel like I’m at an airport lobby with support for Trump being pumped in.

I love the burgers at this place. Took the wife n my brother there. First time for him. I’ll say for 10.00 you get a salad or soup, bread and the burger n steak fries. That’s a deal!!! The burger is the most tastiest n moist burger u will ever have. It comes with mushrooms n cheese on it. Believe me you don’t need any it here condiments on it. It’s that good. They had 5.00 drink special Friday night. They have specials everyday. I will always be a return customer.

Food was fair. The bill was $ 36 and I added an $ 8 tip. When the charge showed up on my account an $ 80 tip was added. Went back to the restaurant and it took 20 minutes to discover their mistake. No apology from the manager. If you go here check your charge!!!

Usually we love this place so much so that we had our rehearsal dinner there a few years ago but last night was a major disappointment. I decided to have my birthday dinner here and first they didn’t know our name for the reservation but we were sat so no big deal. My husband had to go to the bar for drinks after we were sat. We were not offered appetizers before ordering dinner, no second round of drinks were asked about and especially for celebrating a birthday, no offering of dessert just the check! Seriously! The food was excellent as usual but the service was terrible! It was an eat and get out experience for my birthday. Not what people want.

I don’t know why this restaurant is still even here. The service is fine, but that’s about their only saving grace. Getting seated was fine, plenty of room, and I’m not surprised after getting the food. Portions are big, but is severely lacking flavor. My food was barely room temperature, it feels like it was microwaved. For the price of the food, I’d think it’d be freshly made or hot when it comes to the table. Soooo many better options than this

I was there last night with my daughter. We both ordered the filet medium rare. Hers came back medium rare, mine was not. Mine looked more like medium well. I showed the waitress the difference in the two steaks. She brought it back and the 2nd one was really well done. Again the waitress was shown this and brought the 2nd one back. The third one was NOT even cooked. I asked to see the manager, Chrisoulas Les., She was very rude and not customer friendly. She said that I ruined the 3 steaks, and she will just take my dinner off the bill. My daughter said well that is what you should do anyway because my mom did not touch any of the dinner. My daughter also told her that she has been to numerous restaurants downtown, and this is the worst customer service she has ever seen. And the audacity of Soulas Les to accuse me of ruining her steaks? I did not cook them! Anyway, Les comped a dessert(big deal). I never had dinner. A horrible experience. Sharon Heiden

Last time I went to Bonfire the food was terrific. That was about 2 yrs ago. So for my grdaughters birthday celebration. We decided to go there. The meals we ordered were just mediorce at best. The bread and soup were the best things we had. We said it was my grdaughters bday. The waitress had a bad attitude. But she did come back with an old, stale, dry piece of cake. Which you could tell it was old. The whole experience was a disappointment. I felt bad because I suggested Bonfire. But I won’t anymore.

Bonfire has been in our area for many years and we had not been there in several years. But it was an evening out with my husband and we decided to try it again with steak in mind. The restaurant was not extremely busy this Friday evening. About 50% of the tables full. We were seated and given menus. Then forgotten entirely for about 10 minutes. Waitstaff passed by us several times with barely a glance. We were not asked what we wanted to drink as we finished our water glasses brought by the bus boy. After ten minutes of being totally neglected – and we were dressed appropriately thank you– we got up to leave. Only then did the waitstaff approach us. There was a lame apology about being sooo busy – NOT! We went to another local establishment in the neighborhood and had a lovely dinner!!!

Went there last night and had the special which was a Parmesan crusted filet and 1 lb of crab legs. It was awesome! The salad was fresh and the warm bread was excellent! There was a crabby old guy at the table next to us that did nothing but complain from the moment that he sat down while his wife sat there and sneered. His steak was cooked perfectly but he complained that it was too big to be a serloin and complained that they served broccoli as the vegetable. The wait staff handled him well even though he was do obnoxious.

The burger was good(according to my wife)…the prime rib was good but not great. The horseradish was a sauce and not pure. Iceberg lettuce in salads. Good bread. Our server was great. Not a must go, but a good alternative when looking.

Very disappointed with the meal. It seems the place is having an identity crisis because they are a Greek restaurant, but their logo says steaks, chops, and seafood. The wife’s salmon was frozen and kind of bland and my teriyaki steak had a good deal of fatty pieces in it while our rice and veggies were okay at best. Wait staff was okay, but the place is far different from the outside than the inside. Speaking of the inside, it was definitely in need of a good cleaning. Too bad because I have passed it dozens of times waiting to try it out and probably will not go back.

I visited this Homer Glen Restaurant many times over the years and must admit it has seen better days. As my husband and I walked into the lobby we noticed that the hall mats needed to be vacuumed. We also noticed that the menus were very worn on the edges. That gave the restaurant a definitely shabby feel. Pushing on, we ordered our dinner. The porterhouse steak with the shrimp kabobs was superb. I also ordered the chicken fettuccine carbonara which was okay. Our only complaints about the meal were the salad and the bread and coffee. The iceberg lettuce looked like it had been frozen and quickly defrosted. It was terrible. A little tomato and some shredded carrots with a cucumber slice. Yuck. The bread was tasteless and the coffee was weak and tasteless. The waitress was wonderful. If they could focus on improving the lettuce and coffee they might have more customers. The place has always been dead when we have arrived lately. I think we will stop going there for a while.

The cumulative rating of this restaurant is way too low IMO, but many of the criticisms are correct. Yes, this place does draw a bit of an older crowd, but the décor is not dated. I’m not sure why having real tablecloths is a negative thing in some of the reviews. The atmosphere is welcoming and it’s a great place for a sit down meal where someone actually comes and waits on you. This is kind of rare in this area of pizza places and Italian beef stands. My family goes there very often(3 times a month maybe). Our favorite items are the steaks, prime rib, sea bass, and lamb chops. Also, they nearly always have a good seafood special. My only criticism on the food is they often run their steak specials with added shrimp or crab legs. On those specials, they put a blue-cheese encrusted blob of yuckiness on top of their steak… it’s really awful texturally, so I always just scrape it off. Their wine list is good and competitively priced of the area. For an appetizer, we like the octopus. For dessert, their créme brulée is always good. We’ve been there when they have been very busy — our service is consistently outstanding. That’s the real word to highlight in this review. «Consistent.» We go to Bonfire because we know we will always have an enjoyable experience. It’s a good local place that really fills a void in this area.

I ate there for the first time last month and it was really good. Service was nice food was even better. I did go at lunch time and the prices were reasonable. I am taking my wife and kids tonight and hopefully its as good as last time … I will write another review and see if it’s consistent. It seems every time I find a great place I brag about go back and it’s not as good. My favorite was Enrico’s in Frankfort it was always great… So I’m keeping my fingers cross …

This is a good restaurant to head out to on a better than average weeknight. The service is typically pretty solid, the drinks are good, and the food is typically on par with what you’d expect. It’s not always worth the price you’re dropping here, but occasionally you’ll hit a winner. I was lucky enough to get their rib eye with a bruschetta and cheese topper. Probably the best meal I have ever had there. I’ve been there enough over the years to know they’re not all winners, but this specialty was well worth it.

We came here for a nice family dinner and left feeling a bit unimpressed. There was really nothing wrong or bad with the food or staff, there just was not anything that wowed us here. We had an asortment of dishes b/t the six of us ranging from steak to seafood. I would probably not come back again.

This is another of those steak joints that hark back to another era. Older crowd … nothing for young kids, neither food nor fun … real tablecloths … a bit dressier dress code than the usual. And with all that said, the food was pretty good but did not quite match up to the prices. One of our party had the fish special of the day — something like a tilapia tower, and one had the prime rib. Both were good but nothing to hurry back for. As to the fish, perfectly respectable but NBD. We suspect sticking with the steaks is the way to go. As to the prime rib, nice size but just not near a Lawry’s quality. If size is your thing, come on down. You get a complete meal in a nice dining room setting, but it just wasn’t our cup of tea. Drink service was pretty nice and they had a reasonable selection … prices were a bit high though and portions were not generous. Our waitress did a nice job. There is absolutely no big thing wrong with this place, but just as importantly there is no big draw to bring us back.
