Pizza Plus is an excellent take-out choice. The pizza is excellent. I also enjoy the chicken sandwiches and don’t forget to make it a grinder.

I was not a fan of the pizza or the to big to be true calzone. I was hoping that something that big would be amazing, it was not.

Great pizza place, great food and prices, clean, fast service, around for decades. Been around since the 70’s or early 80’s. Wanted to mention my friends Nancy M. and the Testa family from Hometown I often ate here with when younger with my mother Donna as well.

They Over cook everything. I ordered a couple chicken sandwiches on Fathers Day. When I opened the bag they were so over cooked they looked like burgers. They also over cooked a 4 piece chicken dinner. It should not be asking to much not to over cook these items. I keep on giving them chances because they are very close to my house. But they are simply running out of chances for me.

Once upon a time I was a child on the Southside and this was THE place to go for pizza. We ordered from here every Friday, always walked here with our friends, and I think even had a few parties here. Since then they have really gone down hill. Rumor has it they changed owners but I can’t say for certain. Last night we ordered from here hoping to take advantage of their 2 slices for $ 2 on Tuesday special. When I went to pick up our food they were missing half the order. I went back in and after a few minutes they gave me the rest of the order. The food wasn’t bad… maybe a few steps above frozen pizza. It definitely wasn’t the worst pizza I ever ate. I think part of the problem was that the oldest person in there working looked about 19. I can’t speak for all teenagers but I know when I was a teenager I wasn’t a very reliable worker. I was more interested in laughing with my friends and it seemed like this guy was too. Maybe if they got their act together this place would turn around.

This place used to be amazing, 3 or 4 years ago I would of gave it 4 stars but unfortunately it has changed. The pizza and other food just doesnt taste the same. They must be using cheaper ingredients as a substitute. Today I ordered their thin crust cheese special since its Tuesday. I ordered 4 slices and mini tacos with salsa. My first problem is they said its a 25 minute wait for 4 slices! Most places can make a whole pizza in that time! They werent even busy. So my girlfriend picks up the food and they only gave us two of of slices so we had to go back in to get the rest. Then I get home and they didnt give me my salsa for my tacos. I think one of the problems is they seem to have high school kids working the front and back. Bottom line, save your money and try Grassanos or Vito and Nicks if you want a good meal.

I stopped by here for lunch a couple of times and found it to be alright overall. The atmosphere is a little bit out-dated, reminiscent of an old mom and pop place, and the people at the counter are very friendly. They have an extensive menu. Ranging from pizza to burgers to pasta dishes. On Tuesday, they had a really great lunch deal where I got two slices of pizza for like 3 dollars. The pizza, I thought, was not very good. It may have to do with the fact it was by the slice, so I’m sure a fresh one would be better, but it was not tasty. It did not have good flavor at all and was reminiscent of cardboard. I also had the grilled cheese once and that was awful! How do you mess up a grilled cheese? But I guess that’s what I get for ordering a grilled cheese at a pizza place: P I only ate here the times I did because it was close and convenient. I don’t think I would go out of my way to eat here again.

Cannot get an order right. The music from the Kitchen is so loud and the mouths on the girls are like a truck stop. Ordered pizza and garlic bread as an appetizer. They both came out at the same time. They big guy in the kitchen looks as though he needs to shower and wash his hair. Garlic bread has no flavor. Pizza will satisfy your taste for a pizza that place will never be the first choice, or second or third. Go the extra few miles and hit Vito and Nicks,

This place has some decent pizza for its price. I’ve been coming here since I was a youngster. For some odd reason they’re close on Sundays. If I remember correctly, they have a deal on Tuesdays for deep dish slices. Can’t remember exactly as I haven’t been there in a long time.

Grew up going to this restaurant and I love it. It’s a neighborhood place where everybody knows everybody. The owners know me by name and will make it a point to say ‘hi’ when they see me. I don’t understand how anybody could say anything bad about this place.

Used to go here all the time. They are shady people and I can’t recommend the place because they put stuff in their food that nobody should have to eat. Lastly, the pizza is nothing special anyway, so no loss on anyones part. The crust tastes like the cardboard box it comes in.

Pizza Plus is by far my favorite thin crust pizza in all of Chicagoland. Being a transplant from FL I was unfamiliar with the ‘chicago style’ pizza. I had been to Gino’s East and Giordano’s for deep dish and after the suggestion of my then boyfriend decided to give the thin crust a try at Pizza Plus. The first thing I noticed was the strange chicago style cut of the pizza. It’s perfect for people who like the crust or people who don’t. Thankfully my husband and I don’t fight over the same pieces. The pizza is delicious. It has the perfect balance of cheese, sauce and toppings. Often times the cheese covers the crust which makes it extra delicious. The sauce is a bit sweet but it balances well with the zing of the pepperoni and sausage. I try to get here as often as I can and find it worth the 35 minute drive from New Lenox. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the prices are so reasonable. My mouth is just watering thinking of that tasty thin crust pizza. Can’t wait to get back there again!

If I could only eat one pizza for the rest of my life my choice would be any of the thin crust pies from Pizza Plus. The crust is thin and crispy and holds the ingredients well. The ingredients are plentiful but not overpowering and don’t weigh down the pizza. The sauce is a good blend and has a pleasant sweetness to it that I haven’t found anywhere else. The staff there is also very friendly and accommodating when asking for special requests, holding a dinner/event there, or asking that Grey’s Anatomy is switched to the current sporting event on one of their TVs. Granted, during busy times of the evening they might not take the time to stop, smile and hold a conversation like they usually do but more often than not you will feel invited and welcomed when ordering at the counter. I like these pies so much that I continued to go with my family most Thursdays(for Thirsty Thursday of course) even after we moved out to New Lenox. It’s worth the trip and the pizzas are affordable which is always a positive; however you should be aware of a few things. Seeing as though this is a family style counter service type establishment some people get worked up over the fact that someone won’t come take your order, they’ll bring you your food but you have to actually go to the counter to order; also, seeing as though this isn’t as fancy as a place like Giordano’s you will get the occasional birthday/baseball/football/basketball party in there that will add pre-teen running/screaming/partying to your dinner experience. These parties are hit or miss though and in no way should sway you from enjoying the deliciousness that is Pizza Plus. One final note, if when you show up there is a red Hoveround parked by the door say Hi to Linda when you walk in, more than likely she will be sitting in the chair closest to the counter and will probably let you know all the current happenings in the Hometown area.

Im still gonna give them 4 stars cuz their THINCRUST is really good, their beef sandwiches are the best damn EVER. and their lasagna beats Magiano and Rosebuds hands down in taste and price! Oh, and their homemade chicken noodle soup is like grandma used to make! Note: If you like Fries, theirs are a very close cousin to Portillos in taste! Also, for a little restaurant in a strip mall, their bbq baby back ribs put to SHAME bigger rib restaurants! Fall off the bone goodness with a great sauce! The bad — Combo basket is mushy and not crispy. Their other sandwiches are meh at best. Their deep dish and stuffed are nowhere near as good as the thin and their calzone is horrible.

The atmosphere is okay if you are planning to take kids to a place where they can run around, play video games, and eat junk food. I go here when I am in a pickle but overall I am not pleased with the quality of their food. The exception to this rule is their homemade soup. Their Cream of Broccoli is do die for.

I have never been inside this place but my buddy has ordered it take out on multiple occasions. Not a pizza that will leave you speechless because there are so few that can do that anyways, but it has been good and consistent quality thus far. Prices are ok as well.

The pizza is not bad. The service is not bad. The prices are not bad. Good: They have an arcade game that is rigged up to play Super Mario World and F-Zero. Bad: I guess they think Jesus would come in and fuck up the ovens if they were open on Sunday. That’s my only guess to why a small joint like this would stay closed on it’s biggest potential for business. Good: Tuesday’s boast 2 giant slices of pizza for $ 2. Bad: The preteens who hang out at this place have a serious mouth on them. Imagine Jay and Silent Bob in Clerks but way younger and less imaginative. Prepare to feel stupid for having a blue shirt on. Their remarks aren’t clever enough to make you feel stupid, but the fact that you’re too much of a pussy to tie them to your car and drag them around the Hometown Shopping Center will. Probably a good place to go if you’ve given up on a better life, or if you need a quick bite and are in the immediate area(which usually refers you to having given up on a better life).

I ordered a thin, medium Super Supreme(sausage, mushroom, onion, green peppers) pizza for pick-up yesterday. I was told it would be about a 20 – 25 minute wait. Unfortunately, I ended up waiting 40 minutes. While waiting, I scoped out the medium-sized dining room and neighborhood feel. Most people seemed to order the pasta dishes. So I’ll have to return here some time and try the entrees for myself. Prices are under $ 10 per person. And people of all ages and group sizes were here. The décor was nothing fancy, and it was pretty busy on a Friday night at about 8 p.m. I waited by the register, and I got suckered into buying a large chocolate chip cookie for $ 0.89. It looked too good to pass up, as they brought out a fresh batch. Thin and large is how they serve up their cookies. I FINALLY got my order after the cashier explained it got a lot busier after placing my phone order. All ingredients were very fresh, sausage seasoned reasonably well, the tomato sauce very sweet, and the crust thin and crispy. For some, the sauce may be too sweet, sausage not hot enough(just add some red pepper flakes) and the crust may require more butter. But for me, it was all very good. The cookie was also quite a treat. It reminded me of a lighter, fresher, larger version of a chocolate chip cookie from Subway. High ratings for value, freshness, and menu variety. Recommended.
