The Press Room Eatery

EDIT: The bartender upped the tip that I left her on my CC!!! So minus two stars for that!
Went there last night with a few other people… The bar get’s 3 stars because it’s one of the cleanest bars I’ve ever been in, which is nice. Plus, most of the clientele is in their 40’s-50’s so they’re a lot nicer and the atmosphere is calmer.
Things I didn’t like:
–The kitchen closes at nine… but the bar stays open till 2 (maybe later), so after 9 all they serve is pretzels, which stinks! They have a pretty decent menu, with good appetizers, so they should serve it! The bar was still full, they could have made some extra money!
–The drinks are somewhat expensive, and not that strong.
–The employees (although off the clock) drinking/​getting drunk and being belligerent there (some of them wearing their work shirts still, while another chick was still helping pass drinks out to customers but kept on going on about how she was «off the clock») That really bugged me, it’s a business, there should be some professionalism.

This is a great place to get a burger, pizza or wings! The food is top notch and the prices are very reasonable. I just feed my family of 5 for $ 30.
Saturdays are even better. It’s steak night and the steaks are fantastic. Everytime I bring friends they can’t stop raving about the meal.

We went here once for drinks. It was loud, almost impossible to talk, and very difficult to get bartender’s attention. Not our style. If you want a nice drink and be able to hear conversation, I much prefer Bamboo Blue’s bar.
The outdoor tables look much nicer and have more ambience, but they are nearly always all taken up during summer evenings.

After hearing a few raves about the 5^th Quarter/​Press Rooms burgers, I decided to try one out. I called in the order, went through the bar to the «eatery» side of this establishment and stood there for 5 minutes waiting for 2 waitresses to quit yapping and acknowledge my presence. Note that the eatery side had one table filled so it wasn’t like they were busy.
Finally one of them told me that the food orders are over there… pointing towards the bar. I finally got the bartenders attention and saw my food in a bag sitting at the end of the bar. It was a crowded Friday late afternoon and she seemed to be the only bartender.
Anyhow, got my food home and had a nice size burger with a slimey brown piece of lettuce on a bun that was hard and starting to mold.
I guess if I just ate the burger and threw the rest out, I’d give it another star.
Unfortunately it was so bad that I will never give it a second try, so hope to see some other reviews… perhaps I just hit them on a bad day!
