Every day lunch spot for me. Spicy ahi donburi from this place is the best. I don’t like ikura so I don’t get it with fish eggs but still ono.

Had the Tiger Maki and it was delish! I wish I was more hungry so I can taste more. Would love to come back and have their Spicy Ahi bowl. Even though this place is small, the food is great! Service is great too! Come visit and you will not be disappointed!

Cute little spot next to airport. Perfect place to grab a bite between trying to escape town traffic and avoiding airport priced food. Ordered a bowl of unagi and spicy ahi along with a hokkigai nigiri and some other random goodies. Rice was perfect and lady was very sweet.

Made a pitstop here before our flight back to Cali. Had to make a quick decision with ordering a spicy poke bento(had to get my poke fix) and it was delicious — they had several sushi selections to choose from and I wish that I could have tried them all. If I ever find myself back in Oahu, I’m dropping by again. Friendly staff too!

First thought upon entering this small little restaurant– whoa. Weird décor. There were a lot of stuffed animals of various sizes(specifically Nemo and one of the fishies from the Little Mermaid(?)) hanging from the ceiling. Maybe the owners were going with the whole ocean, fish theme cause it’s a sushi place, but still. odd. However, we did spot a child behind the counter, so maybe those were just his extra stuffed animals from the carnival or something. The restaurant has minimal seating(super minimal. Like 2 seats) so it’s best to take out. Although there were a few other customers, we didn’t wait long for our food and were in and out of the restaurant in less than 10 minutes. We ordered a dynamite and dragon maki, and both were really ono. The fish was fresh and both rolls had a really clean taste(if that makes sense)! I’ve had just the rolls before, but the maki is so much better! The convenience of the restaurant serves as another incentive to come here again. Short drive and good, cheap sushi. Score!!!

This place is definitely a hidden gem. I have gone to this place for years, and their quality has never faltered. I love their spicy ahi bowl, in fact it’s the only thing I ever order. I believe that are a family owned operation, and their customer service has always been great! If you’re in the mood for fresh sushi, and in the Honolulu airport area, this is your place to go!

First time here and stopped by around 5pm on a Monday. It wasn’t too busy at all. There was a couple of people who ordered takeout before me. The cashier was really nice and everyone’s orders came out pretty quickly. Salmon nigiri(3 pieces for $ 3.79) was your typical precut, fast food quality salmon. Nothing wrong with that though. Spicy ahi nigiri(3 pieces for $ 4.59) was pretty good. Hot sauce is mixed with mayo so it’s creamy, but still had a spicy flavor. I’d reorder this again. Oyako donburi($ 8.99) is one thing I’d never order again. If you’re used to oyako don that’s saucy and cooked with a shoyu based sauce, do not buy this. Once I opened the cover all I could smell was sesame oil. I ate a few pieces of chicken, but I didn’t eat anymore because it was really dry, there was no sauce where there normally would be. Despite not liking the oyako donburi, I would come back here and try out the items they have to offer.

It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t that great or special. The location is convenient if you are going to or coming from the airport… Very small place and no restrooms(eww). I’d much rather pick up to go sushi from marukai market.

Hubby ordered the crunch maki and another maki he was not overly impressed it was just okay to him. I will have to try for myself next time. Place seemed pretty clean. Really decorated, cute… really nice and helpful, patient. Lots of choices available almost too many, but a little cheaper than Ninja Sushi right down the street.

Nice friendly people running the sushi restaurant. Taro smoothie was delish but powdery texture. The sushi here is typical of fast food take out. Had a good laugh when I received my order. Very sparse and lacking of any fish roe. Not so fresh, sad to say. If you like rice though they will be sure to please. Did they run out of roe? Not in season? Took a photo after first bite, see for yourself.

Pro: Portions were large Prices are reasonable Cons: Could never tell the difference between the sushi rolls and they fell apart before I put them in the soy sauce.

This is my favorite sushi place. Super nice people, excellent fresh-made-to-order sushi while you wait. Prices aren’t bad, big portions. Huge menu, so many options! Give them a try!

Aloha Sushi is a cute little hole in the wall restaurant located in the Airport Commercial Center near Subway and Bale. I say«cute» because the inside is heavily decorated with stuffed animals, girly-type decorations and also a few inspirational/motivational Christian quotes and scriptures. Seating area is very limited and it can get really tight in there, especially during the lunch hours. I recommend calling your order in if you know what you want as it gets busy during lunch. Customer service is usually pretty good here. They have a wide variety of menu items. I usually order the Spicy Ahi Donburi-it comes with a small miso soup. One of my new favorite items is the Dynamite Maki which is not really spicy although they say it is but still a good maki nonetheless. In addition to their sushi, they also sell fountain drinks(Coke products) and random Asian foods and snacks including roasted seaweed and noodle bowls. Overall, this isn’t a bad place to get a quick bite of sushi if you’re in the area.

I tried the Dynamite Roll for about $ 9 and it tasted average. I’m not sure what was wrong with it, maybe the rice isn’t fresh or something. I also tried their Lychee Bubble Tea. It was a bit ghetto because I was expecting a drink, not some slush ice. It was still pretty good. The bobba is pretty good as well, it isn’t chewy as some places where you’d have to chew forever.

Good spot for poke! I tried all of em, but I like their spicy ahi the best. Decent prices, fresh fish, whimsical décor, and nice people working there. It is more of a takeout place, though there is a counter you can eat at. I’d recommend if you’re passing through the area!

I work in the neighborhood so I have tried just about every restaurant in the area. This place is hands down the best place to get your fish on. I’ve tried many things here and honestly alot of them are mediocre. What won me over however is their spicy ahi donburi. This behemoth of a meal comes with a healthy sized don spanning 6 inches in diameter. Heaping with close to 1⁄3 pound of spicy ahi, ikura(thats right I said ikura), masago, with a few slices of cucumber and avocado on top. Throw in a miso soup? Yes they do! This run $ 9.75 with tax which is slightly on the more expensive side for lunch, but oh so worth it for some quality fish! If you want to get ripped off go to Ninja sushi down the block and eat a palm sized portion of spicy ahi for the same 9 dollars. I do prefer Ninja’s over priced rolls(Superman roll! but thats for another review), but overall Aloha sushi is definitely the winner. If you are hesitant due to a bad experience at another Aloha sushi, dont worry! This one is legit. I’ve been to a few others and had a mediocre experience; but if you keep spicy ahi don in mind, you’re sure to have a good time. Pro tip, go on Thursday or Friday. They get their fresh fish in :)

After a 10+ hour flight, you would be dying of hunger too. So not far from the Honolulu airport Unilocal led me to this little sushi place. At first, it looks like it was take out only. They only have one table and a few bar stools on a breakfast bar like place. They don’t have a paper menu to look at, but they do have hundreds of pictures of sushi rolls and nigiri pieces to choose from. After I scanned the pics, I went for the Ocean salad nigiri(seaweed salad) and the Spicy Ahi Poke. Both were amazing and definitely hit the spot. I LOVE Ahi Poke! This ahi poke was no exception it was delicious. Just the right amount of spice and flavor. The Ocean Salad nigiri was just enough to offset the spicy burn in my mouth before I chowed down more ahi poke. YUM. If you love cheesy Asian/Hello kitty/Finding Nemo décor, this is the place for you. There must be over a hundred waving white kitties on display at this place.
