Been coming here since the early 90s. My favorite is kalbi and meat Jun. Cannot beat boneless kalbi, great flavor and price is very reasonable. Also, the couple the runs the place are the best.

By far some of the best Barbecue beef on the island! I go about once a week because I’m addicted to it): hahah but what can I say it’s so delicious! I recommended it to everyone at least to try!

For the life of me I don’t know how this place is getting four stars. Food– I honestly think this was the worst Korean food I ever had. Seriously. I mean it’s mediocre at best.(and that’s being kind) Even the sides are not good. I’m reading the reviews and I’m like did they go the same place I did. Mundoo– horrible. It was filled with fillers, like all kine vegetable left overs. It looked weird and had a odd after taste. Kalbi– was ok. I had way better. Go to Mama woos. Kim Chee– was so tasteless. Actually all the sides was not good. Over all I didn’t like the food and will never ever go there to eat again. The prices are cheap and believe me when I say you get what you pay for.

BESTKOREANONISLAND! been going here since before I was born(literally, my mom would eat here when she was pregnant with me). the special #1 is always a go to! kalbi, chicken tempura, bbq chicken, meat jun, bbq beef, two scoop rice, mac salad & veggies. I hope this place never shuts down! we always make it a point to come out from Nanakuli to come here at least twice a month.

Fast, affordable, good enough! Ambiance: Mom-and-pop casual Korean BBQ. Feels like you’ve stepped back in time to the 1980’s based on the décor. Parking: Free lot in front; busy strip mall. Food: I ordered the $ 12.95 combo plate, which I shared with my nephew. It had 2 scoops of rice, a wide array of proteins – kalbi(well-flavored and moist), meat jun(tasty), chicken tempura(not panko but flour battered; pretty dry but«interesting»), etc. Had kimchee, mac salad, and sprouts. Was acceptable for the price and quantity. Service: They were about to close, and the staff looked ready to go home, so the cashier encouraged us to take our food to-go, which was fair. Overall: Local dive, good for quick BBQ fix. Tips: Get a combo plate and enjoy a party in your mouth. Share with a friend or save the left-overs.

So a guy at work does a lunch run here once or twice a week so probably ate here fifty or so times already and hits the spot for a cheap edible lunch. While its supposedly Korean its really plate lunch complete with Mac salad. Had maybe half the menu and nothing really jumps out at me particularly good or bad. At this point I simply always get the meat jun and its not bad though rest of plate I chuck as not a plate lunch guy(I don’t do rice, Mac, or shit salad) and you get all of one bite of kimchi. My main complaint TBH is it doesn’t come with jun sauce but some other God awful sauce. Would bump a star if they gave more Korean appetizers, even if cheap and shit, instead of Mac salad and included actual jun sauce. Want to say wouldn’t repeat but that’s a lie, will have it again next week ad infinitum as convenient.

Very tasty! A friend recommended this place so my bf and I decided to try it. I got the kim chi stew and my bf got the kalbi plate, both had great flavor! The older male that served us wasn’t very friendly but I took no offense:) Over all, the price was reasonable for what you get. We would definitely go back.

Awesome food and generous helpings on a formica table– at the most reasonable price in town. I had the meat sampler at $ 10.95– couldn’t finish it! My son had the spicy pork– delicious. Wife loved the beef short ribs. This place is in an ugly strip mall next to the Thrifty Car Rental. We ate while they prepped our car.

Came here right after we picked our ride from Thrifty, which is right next door. I had the best Bap Bim Wha Wha here at the Nimitz BBQ. It is a run down Korean joint, but don’t let the location and restaurant fool you. Great food and is run by a elderly Korean couple. Will return again. There is only 4 or 5 tables in there. Most of the people get it to-go.

I’ve been going here for years. Whenever we have lunch meetings and/or parties at work we always picked up from here for 3 main reasons: 1. Food is delicious 2. Price is cheap 3. You get a lot of food(especially when you buy the combo/special plates) Special No. 1 is great. It’s large enough to food 2 to 3 people OR a really really hungry person

Great food love the bimbim bop and the mondo. Great place to eat lunch or dinner and fast service and family owned. Of you love really home made korean food then you have to eat here.

Good food, cheap, and free kimchi and sides for dine-in customers. Not much else to say. Meat jun seems to be really popular. Almost everyone that came in made at least one order. My husband and I came here for brunch while his bike was getting fixed next door. We had meat jun and chicken jun. Everything was very tasty.

I had a nearby appointment that ran late today, so wandered in to Nimitz Bar-B-Q on a whim. Glad I did, as I never would have made it here in any other way. Thanks to Unilocal,I knew that the food would be plentiful and good, which made me a happy woman. I ordered the spicy squid, and was amused to discover that the squid was served as a full cutlet. Most restaurants cut the meat before it arrives at the table, so it was interesting to see it in it’s full form. It was delicious. Perfectly spiced, and not at all greasy. My husband ordered the chap chae, and was pleased with his choice. Plenty of veggies and meat, and not overly greasy. Unfortunately, we were not impressed by the banchan offered that day. Honestly, the best side was the mac salad, and I don’t eat mayonnaise. The other small problem with this restaurant is the parking lot. Parking spaces were cramped even for my Smart Car, and they’ve managed to squeeze four rows of cars into space enough for three. Still, I’ll go back, just not at peak times.

I normally go to an okazuya for my airplane meal but this time I took too long packing, so we had to make a last minute stop before my flight. Nimitz Bar-Bq House is conveniently located off of Koapaka Street, a few minutes away from HNL. Ordered the meat jun/BBQ chicken combo, $ 7.85 including tax. The meat jun was okay, probably due to my memory of Ireh’s ridiculously good meat jun, which I had very recently. The sauce it came with was different, more like a tabasco sauce than the usual meat jun sauce… I ended up not using it. I really liked the BBQ chicken though! Very tasty and with nice pieces of chicken(there was barely any fat on it at all). You can’t choose your vegetables like at other Korean BBQ places. My plate had bean sprouts, mac salad, cabbage, and kim chee; standard sides that went well with the meats, and probably the same stuff I would have chosen myself anyway :) It was a huge plate lunch, totally worth it for under $ 8…and they accept credit cards! I already have my eye on the BBQ chicken/Kalbi combo for next time.

Came here twice during my stay in Hawaii. Once when I showed up, and once when I left. Simple, delicious, quick, and easy. Prices were decent enough. Fits in with the other local BBQ fare. Only issue was that ordering was sometimes dicey to the heavy accent of a couple employees, but not really any huge deal. I look forward to stopping by on my next trip!

I loved how the lady took my order from the kitchen. «Hi! Can I help you?» LOL!!! The poor woman was all by herself taking orders and cooking. I gotta give 1-star for that. I always appreciate a hard worker. 7 selections in their Combination #1 for $ 10.47 and it was ready in 10 minutes. Wow! The box seemed light, but then I opened it up. I swear that thing had a secret dimension in there. I stopped half way and saved the rest for later. What was in the combo: Sprouts, kim-chee and cabbage — winner. kim-chee was spicy! Mac salad — delicious Bulgogi — tasty BBQ chicken — juicy and yummy Meat Jun — okay. Sauce is great. Kalbi — mediocre Chicken tempura — funky and dry. pass. Shrimp tempura — alright. Mandoo — crispy and flavorful. Thumbs up!

My nephew brought me a plate lunch from here… Kahl bi without the bone, barbeque chicken, meat jun and buhl koghi, fried mun doo… rice, macaroni salad and kim chee. I was impressed! I think this Korean food is better than Kim Chee II… I am definitely gonna buy one of their plate lunches to take on the airplane for my dinner! Can’t wait go go there and see what else they have!
