I’m glad that this place closed. I had food poisoning from here in 2004 and never returned.

I used to study at their dining section back in my days of KCC. Sad to say, I’ve soaked in more Japanese language vocab and characters here than napkins blotting out the greazzzy goodness of Carl’s Jr., Kahala. In fact, I think I’ve eaten here less that 4 times since it opened. Their regular Western Cheesburger(there’s an Angus version), which runs about $ 4 is pretty freaking good. Beef patty and buns, stuffed in with onion rings and a nice, tangy American BBQ sauce. Total dood food. NYUM! The fried zuccini was also delicious and at around $ 2.70. For those who have never tried theirs, it’s cut into ovals. Unlike some bars I’ve had them at before, where it’s cut like fries. What makes their zuccini zing is that their ranch dipping sauce(complementary) has lemon juice squeezed into it. Only problem was both burger and side tasted like they were sitting out for a long time. Better than than burning your mouth I guess? Aside from their slow service, which is understandable due to lack of staff on this busy weekend, I like this place. Have always, ever since I first tried them on a road trip stop from Portland to San Francisco some years ago. Only thing about this Carl’s Jr. experience is that I was trying to hide from this lady who I mouthed off to at a Burger King the weekend before(PM if you want to know what exactly happened). She and her daughter were sitting on the other side of the dining area. Lucky for me, she didn’t recognize me. Even took off my hat and turned my head the other way, watching her reflection in the glass, to see if she would make an attack. In the end, food done and done, I took the long escape route to my car haha! Nyaaa Ni Nyaaa Nii BUUBUU! 4 stars Carl’s Jr. in Kahala Mall

Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger with Chili Fries. That’s the stuff. I’m just happy that they have a few in Hawaii, because this is pretty much one of my fast food chains of choice. The caveat? It’s better than most burger joints in Hawaii. The fries admittedly aren’t the best, but that’s why you slather them with chili and cheese. This location is in the movie theater end of Kahala Mall. There’s plenty of tables to sit at around the elevator, so sometimes you’ll have tons of teens over on this side hanging out. What is it with teens and gravitating toward the movie side of any mall? Anyway, we usually just park upstairs and walk down.

I stopped by here during my turn around point for my bike ride on the Sportster. Of course, as a visitor, I did some window shopping prior to settling in at a table here at Carl’s Jr. … Carl’s Jr… man this SO beats all the other regular fast food joints(lookin’ at you McDonald’s, Wendy’s, etc!). I was suprisingly satisfied after my Teriyaki burger, fries, and large iced tea. Pardon another«cheap labor» moment… yay no hispanic worker bees! I appreciated the gal dropping off your meal, whom seemed nice, too. Someone also came out and randomly asked people how their food was. Thumbs up. I’ve heard about you Carl’s Jr. Now I know why.

Tasty fast food fare. My favorites are the Western Bacon Cheeseburger and regular style fries.(Splurge on the Thickburger version once in awhile). I have always received good service from the crew.

I’m not into chicks, but wow. The western bacon cheeseburger is hands down my fave fast food chain burger. I must be a neat eater though, because it never drips half as much as it does when Padma was eating it. Can’t believe the Hawaii mark-up though. $ 8 for a western bacon cheeseburger combo?! Sheesh.

I’m with Squid S. and Guam A. If you are looking for a colon-cleansing, instant-diarrhea kind of a good time, eat at Carl’s Jr. Probably more than you needed to know about me, but seriously, beware. At least it tastes better going in than Ex-Lax does.

If you’re looking for something to consume that will give you worse diarrhea than ex-lax, look no further — just order a number 1 from Carl’s Jr. I’m not sure why the food here completely destroys my digestive track, but it does. Every time… without fail. Perhaps this is too much information, but buyer beware!

Its a national fast food chain specializing in $ 6 burgers so what can you really say? It’s not as good as Kuaiana, Ted’s or other specialty burger places, but not as expensive either. I ate there for the first time last weekend and its pretty good. I had the Mushroom Swiss burger and we were suprised by the size of the burger, but really it matched the price charged. A nice change from McDonalds, Burger King, and Jack in the Box.

I can’t believe I’m reviewing Carl’s Jr., but I just love this place. So greasy and just so dang good. We need them extra calories after training on the beach.

I have been here a few times in a bind. I like their Western Bacon Cheeseburger. I like to go here, get a large drink, walk around the mall and then go back for a refil. What else can I say? It’s Carl’s Jr. They do have a normal menu. It hasn’t changed because it is in Hawaii.
