So I’ve been working nearby for about 8 years now and I’ve seen this place slowly transform from your basic convenience store at the bottom of a building to a store with an eatery attached to it.
Like any smaller convenience store in a hotel you’ve got your basic necessities that you may need right away like toothbrushes, toiletries, medicines, chips, soda fountain and drinks.
They also had a deli counter that started off with simple things like hot dogs, pizza, sandwiches and salads. But most recently they installed a full kitchen and have started serving plate lunches, poke bowls and Indian food. Yup you hear that right, Indian food. I’m sitting at my desk eating lunch from there and I have to tell you that the Indian food is pretty authentic. I got the chicken curry with basmati rice. Yum! A little on the spicier side but the flavor is good.
When you decide you want to get away from the office and eat there, they have a few chairs and tables in air conditioning with a large flat screen TV you can catch up on the news or sports. If you’re like I am and work around the Kapiolani DonQ area you must be sick of eating the same things over and over again. Well here’s a new place for you to try. The Indian food with one entrée will set you back $ 8.32 but the servings is pretty generous so no worries.
