Went here for lunch earlier this month. I don’t know why I continue to try to search for good Mediterranean or middle eastern food on this island because I know I’ll never find it. Giving it two stars because at least the chicken and beef had flavor. The rice was oily. The tabouleh was basically chopped up parsley and there was barely any bulgar in it; parsley overload was terrible. The hummus looked like they used vegetable oil instead of olive oil on it, or maybe it was just really cheap olive oil — who knows!

I am from NY. We have amazing Mediterranean/Lebanese spots there so I am going to be brutally honest. The grape leaves were huge. I guess not completely a bad thing when they are $ 1.50 a piece but, so much rice. They have a particular size because the proportion will be off otherwise. It was spiced well but way too many mouthfuls of rice for my taste. The falafel was okay but it was missing something… like hot sauce! They only had Tabasco sauce available which I only ever put on oysters so I did not use it on this occasion. In general the food was bland for my taste but I am a flavor queen so give it a try or use the sauce in your purse!

The $ 0.50 off Unilocal ofder HASENDED Dec. 2015, according to the order taker. Tiny little place with amazing tasty Lebanese food. I love the vegetarian plate with two grape leaves, two falafels, eggplant salad, lentil rice, salad, and pita. The guy asked if I’d like hummus in place of green salad. YES! There are three tables squished in this little joint so take out is good. Or sit in the common hallway of the building for space. Executives and office staff and others are seen waiting for food from this quite popular establishment.

Crazy tasty and amazing portions! FOOD: I love Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food so much, which tends to be a bummer because Honolulu doesn’t have that many options. But this little hole-in-the-wall(or hallway) has some amazing food! I ordered a side of hummus and pita as well as a greek salad. The salad was pretty good — the ingredients were fresh and plentiful and the salad was more than just your average iceberg lettuce. The side of hummus was fantastic though!!! I was warned that hummus and pita would be filling enough, but I didn’t heed the warning. I though, «please, this will be a scoop of hummus and one slide of pita –à la The Fat Greek». The hummus was an unrealistically large portion size — it filled the entire container. Best of all, it was the creamiest, most flavorful hummus I’ve had in Honolulu! So goood. SERVICE&SPACE: The space is very small for sure. Not much atmosphere. You can sit down at one of the two indoor tables or outside in this bizarre ‘hallway’. I took my food back to my office to pig out in private. The service was incredibly nice and friendly. The owner asked me my name and chatted me up. He was also really helpful when it came to ordering. PRICE: By far the best part. The food was really affordable. For $ 13 I was eating lunch for days! Great value — you should definitely stop by this place.

Ordered a small salad earlier today since I was early before the the store opens, the vegetables were very green and fresh was glad to be able to have something good & healthy. There was onion, red pepper, lettuce, cabbage paired with goat cheese and Caesar dressing, could not be any more classic. Love the way it was simple and easy, very light and natural way of diet.

This little find in Downtown was AMAZING during my work week. It is tucked in a long narrow hall way that can be accessed from South King Street or Merchant. Unfortunately the hall was does smell of urine but the quality of the food is not tampered with! I had the Thursday special which consisted of a hefty portion of Couscous(the best I have ever had), Homemade Hummus(top quality with chunks of garlic still in it) with soft Pita bread, Falafel with creamy dipping sauce, and some sort of kraut like thing. Everything was healthy and delicious. Serving size was perfect, I had left overs for dinner which mostly my kids ate!

Good and Healthy is neither of those things. This was the saddest $ 8.50 I’ve ever had to part with. I got the Falafel Plate and as a couple other reviewers mentioned, the falafel balls were straight outta the fridge: cold, inedible, unable to cut through with a knife(it was plastic but still!!!). Bland olive oil on the hummus. Old tomatoes. Flavorless salad dressing. Old pita bread — some parts were hardened. Solid grey tahini sauce. If you have tastebuds and value your hard-earned money, I strongly recommend not eating here.

Love this place! This is a hidden gem off of Merchant street in Downtown. Plates are generous size and one plate is good enough for my lunch and dinner. I ordered the Chicken Tarma plate which was delicious! It came with a generous amount of hummus and chicken. The plate came with one pita bread. Truly a hidden gem in Downtown!

Favorite Mediterranean place in the area(maybe it’s the only one? I don’t know) — prices are reasonable for a mini plate and large plates are only like 2 dollars more. Hummus tastes great, and the food is very healthy compared to the usual mixed plate you find in Hawaii. Big fan here!

Had this for lunch. Had the falafel plate. Pros: — good flavor — pita was warm — good portion size Cons: — falafel was served fridge cold — falafel was really dense and had to be cut with a knife — humus was really thick, like a paste. — falafel sauce was watered down and too thin This is NOT a great place to experience Mediterranean food. Will not recommend and will not return.

For those of you looking for a healthy meal, this is the place for you. Great Mediterranean flavors. For those who are looking for a vegetarian option, they have something for you too. Pita bread and the hummus are delicious and tastes fresh. The sit-in area for this restaurant is quite small, however there is seating in the hallway directly outside the restaurant. Not to mention they provide fast and friendly service.

I discovered this restaurant in the hidden alley you can’t really tell what in there when driving by. Great food always fresh! I always get Gyro plate! Yum

This is my new favorite lunch spot. They’re quick, fresh, delicious, and the guy who works there is very sweet and friendly. All good and KEY qualities that I look for in a place to eat at. I came here last Friday and ordered the Gyro Salad. I got the smaller size, but it was enough to fill me up. I LOVED it. It had all the amazing ingredients that you would expect in a Greek salad at just the perfect balance. The walk there is a little bit far for me because I have a half-hour lunch break, but it’s definitely worth it. I made the mistake of going to a different place to get the same salad, and I’m never doing that again. Good and Healthy all the way! Another bonus of this place is that it is very affordable. My salad, with all its fixings, came out to be under ten dollars. That’s a good enough price to keep me coming back! My coworker is the one who recommended the place to me, and he had some other plate that looked delicious(it wasn’t a salad, I think it was a Gyro Plate instead), so I might try IF I ever get tired of that amazing salad! This place is great. GOHERE!

Super fast. The vegetarian options are limited. The eggplant salad and pita bread was really good, the hummus was pretty bland not a lot of flavor.

Visited twice since my original review and unfortunately both times were less than satisfying. Falafels were stone cold(as if taken straight from the fridge), eggplant dish(don’t know the name) tasted sour and rancid, and the pita bread was pretty hard. Very disappointing because the food used to be good, and the staff are always very friendly. I highly doubt I’ll be visiting again… for the same prices I’d rather go to Fresh Garden Deli next door.

I feel like this place has changed for the worse as the new owners have taken it over. The gyro meat is no longer sliced thin and crisp, but is thick cuts of gyro loaf, too overwhelming without being browned a bit longer. When we ordered, it seemed to take no time at all, but the meat wasn’t warm either. I would rather take a bit longer and have a better end product. The dressing for the salad was too oily, and didn’t have the necessary bite of vinegar to make it an actual great dressing. It was reminiscent of the old style, but just more oily. Maybe they didn’t shake it up before putting it on the salad that tasted slightly chemically… You know when you take the romaine home and it has that slight bitter taste if it’s not well washed? It tasted like that. I ate it anyway, since I was super hungry — but that probably took a couple days off my life. Anyway, please remember what this place was like before you bought it. Although on a side note, I feel kind of bad for leaving a not so great review because the guy at the register was SUPER nice. Maybe I’ll be back in a month, just because I hope that it gets better.

This is becoming one of my new favorite lunch spots. I usually get the combo kabob plate, which comes with hummus and rice. It is delicious and if I get a diet coke, I spend less than eleven dollars for lunch. Yay! On Fridays, this place has a beef special, so I order that if I come on Fridays. I also enjoy the spanakopita. I ordered the falafel once but learned that it is not my cup of tea. That was my first time trying falafel so I can’t really speak to the quality. I think I might just not like falafel. The guy who takes your orders is really polite also. He’ll bring out your food if you sit at one of the tables in the hallway so you don’t have to stand around. There are also a lot of regulars that come here, which you can tell from observing the guy at the front. He already knows what people are going to get as soon as they arrive.

I made a special trip here today to use my Unilocal deal voucher. I noticed immediately the normal cashier wasn’t there. I showed the worker who was there my voucher; he said I can’t use it because the normal cashier called in sick, and he’s the only one that knows how to process it. Needless to say, I walked out of there pissed. That is totally unforgivable. How can you run a business when if one person is gone the whole thing falls apart? Oh, and by the way, I’ve been coming here for years, and the food isn’t nearly as good under the new ownership.

The café is small, so I recommend getting take out. They are pretty quick at making the food after you order, so that’s always a plus. Especially since there is always a lunch line here. The prices seem average downtown prices. Not cheap but not over $ 10. The Grub [[ FALAFELPLATE $ 8.50 ]] so falafel is a mixture of fava and garbanzo beans. In the Falafel plate, you get 5 of these balls, lettuce, tomatoes, tahini sauce, hummus and pita. Honestly I was not a fan of this plate at all, I felt the Falafels were really really dry(which they probably are supposed to be) but I just wasn’t digging it. [[ CHICKENTARNAPLATE $ 9.25 ]] The chicken served in this place is boneless chicken strips, gardren salad, rice pilaf, hummus and pita bread. I thought this plate was alright. It had an interesting taste to it when you dipped the chicken in the sauce that they give to you. [[ SPINACHPLATE $ 7.50 ]] Yum, the spinach plate. This is basically a spinach pie that is called spanakopita. It also comes with hummus, pita bread and salad. I think out of the three items that I have tried here, this one is by far my favorite. Overall I think this place is good. I aint no Lebanese food expert at all. To be perfectly honest, Good and Healthy Café is the first time ever trying Lebanese, so I really don’t have much to compare it with haha.

This review is long overdue … I should’ve done it last year when I had lunch there many times :/My bad lol I work in the downtown financial district, and as you know there are MANY places to chose from. I was craving stuffed grape leaves … Mmmmm . So I Unilocaled around and found this place. It had a lot of great reviews and the pictures everyone posted made my mouth water. I went down on my lunch break and got a vegetarian plate. OMG!!! Their hummus is to die for. The best I’ve had!!! And my plate serving was huge!!! Couldn’t finish it all!!! I also got the baklava … Heaven! And the felafel was soooooooo good. Service was fast and I loved talking to the guy at the counter … Who happened to be the son and the mom was in back cooking all the food :) Sadly though, I heard that this awesome family business has new owners. They sold it and moved to LA. What a shame :( I loved going there for lunch!

Not impressed with my brown bag PB&J for lunch, I looked to Unilocal to help me find a better alternative. My only requirements were that it be nearby, cheap, and delicious. My search concluded that It’s Good and Healthy Café is one of the downtown favorites, so I just had to check it out. I got there a few minutes after 12 on an unofficial holiday(Half of downtown takes the day before Thanksgiving off). There were 2 people in front of me to order and about 3 people waiting for their meals. Not bad! I’ve definitely stood in longer lines at lunch before. Unilocal’s reviews listed almost every item as «the best» so I just went ahead with the Gyro Plate with the intention of returning one day for the popular Falafel Plate. I waited for about 10 minutes before getting my food, although people in front of me were waiting much longer. I’m not sure what they ordered, so perhaps it required more time. The gyro plate is HUGE, but just the right amount for me. It comes with a mushy rice that many people have commented on. It really didn’t have too much flavor. The gyro meat, however, was flavored perfectly! It came with a delicious yogurt sauce that complimented the meat’s saltier taste. A salad, pita bread, and hummus also came with the meal. I liked the hummus, but it lacked flavor as well. Or it is authentic and I am just used to the sodium packed hummus from the market… There are two tables in the tiny restaurant, but with everyone waiting inside for their food, it can be crowded and a little awkward to sit there. There were also 2 tables outside in the hall, but they were taken. I happily took my lunch back to the office to enjoy in comfort(and A/C). My meal came out to $ 9 exactly. Pretty average for downtown. I would definitely return to try other items on the menu! Service was friendly and fairly quick. I’ m not sure how packed it would be on a typical day, but I think the quality is worth the wait.

This little hole in the wall is definitely a downtown gem. A family runned restaurant with the son running the front and the parents in the back cooking. I’ve tried their greek salad(which is premade — i.e. sitting in see-through containers in the display case.). I’ve also had their shekobs. Everything I’ve had here is very tasty. The cons: hardly any seatings; wish they gave more salad dressing on their greek salads.
