Located on the grounds of Fort DeRussy across the Hale Koa Military Hotel near the U.S. Army Museum, Kuroda Field is the green-space of the Fort DeRussy Chapel. This field was dedicated to World War IIAJA veteran and Medal of Honor recipient, SSG Robert T. Kuroda who bravely served in Hawaii’s 442nd Regimental Combat Team. This expanse of park land was dedicated on November 9, 2000. A surviving brother and fellow AJA U.S. Military member wrote a very moving account that chronicled the event in which SSG Robert Kuroda so bravely served. You read the bronze plaque that details SSG Kuroda’s actions in Bruyère, France and marks this field. The dedicated field is another great honor and memorial to the soldiers of Hawaii’s highly decorated 100th Infantry Batallion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team. #463
