Happy hour 5 – 6:30. 22 oz draft beers for $ 4. Drink specials. Great view overlooking Waikiki Beach. Lots of TVs for watching the game. Will usually open outside normal hours when playoff games are on. Decent appetizers. Free popcorn. Service can be a little slow(you’re in Hawaii), so order at the bar if impatient.

On the surface the happy hour prices look good and food prices appear to be a good deal. Mahi mahi sliders for $ 7 seemed reasonable but they were flavorless and literally only one bite each. I realize that they were busy the Thursday evening we went, but the servers were almost angry when we asked questions about the menu. Plus it took forever to get served. Definitely won’t be going back here.

One star for the service. Our large group stopped here for drinks prior to a wedding on property. Older female bartendar angrily yelled at us to take our order and slammed the drinks down on the bar. She could only remember two drink orders at a time, so not only was she rude, she took forever to serve us. They were pretty slow and empty at this bar besides our party, so I guess they just don’t enjoy the business.

Inattentive staff overwhelmed by happy hour. Food took way too long and portions were a joke. Only good value is the beer specials. Seems they know they have a captive audience or at least the think they have one.

If the barefoot bar is a little too unruly for you, then mosey on over to the Warrior’s Lounge where things are a bit more calm and mature. This is a great place to get a view of the setting sun through the leaves of the banyan trees while sipping a mai tai or old fashioned. The drink prices are beyond reasonable and they give you free nachos and popcorn as long as the booze is flowing! The crowd is a little on the older side, but that is more than alright with me. I have no qualms with chillin’ in the aforementioned conditions whilst overhearing some retired G.I.s talk about what weapons they preferred to use along the Mekong Delta during the Vietnam war. «You got a shot gun? I didn’t get a shot gun!?» True story. I sat and sipped my delicious libation thinking to myself, «I wouldn’t want a shot gun… I’d prefer something a little more long range, like an M-16. I really enjoyed it here and plan on returning tonight after the luau.

Thoroughly enjoyed the great service provided by Joy each night of our stay in Waikiki. She is very proactive remembering exactly not only our choice of beverage, but our choice of food for the happy hour. If she is typical of your range of employees, then you are a blessed organization.

This is the cheapest happy hour in Waikiki– and open to the public! The food and drinks are great. Get there early for lanai seating to watch the sunset. Inside gets very cold with arctic AC! This place would be absolutely perfect if it weren’t for one really bad bartender. This guy has been rude every time myself or someone in my(military) family have interacted with him. He really has a way of making you feel unwelcome. I really wish they’d get rid of him and hire someone with a customer-oriented attitude. Other than that, the waitress who works weekday’s is wonderful, the food & drinks are great, and it helps support a resort that benefits service members. Wins all around! Helpful tips– free popcorn, cheap validated parking at the Hale Koa parking garage

Go for Happy Hour. 5 — 6:30pm, I think. You can park in the Fort Derussy parking garage. Bring your parking ticket because you need to get it validated. Walk across the street and up the giant stairs to the Hale Koa hotel. The stairs are too big for one step and too small for two. Can’t remember any steps anywhere with this odd configuration. The Warrior Lounge is upstairs if you approach it from the hotel. You can also get there from the beach. The A/C keeps it very cool — just like a lounge should be. You can sit at the bar or sit at the tables and chairs in the adjoining room. Or you can hang on the Lanai out back. I was drawn back to Warrior’s with the memory of Happy Hour beers and shrimp cocktails. You know the ones where the shrimp hang over the edge of the glass. But alas the guys in the back kitchen grew tired of peeling shrimp, and the shrimp cocktails are no more. Now peel-your-own shrimp, about ten to a buck so don’t complain. There was no sign of «the fat guy(bartender) with the paper in the back», as previously reported by a Unilocaler. At the bar was a friendly guy from Kauai. The 22 oz draft beers are $ 4.00. I was led astray by a prior Unilocal report that the smaller drafts for $ 3.00 were 16 oz. No, no, no. They are 14 oz only. It makes no sense not to go for the 22 oz for alcohol therapy. The Ahi sliders on taro bread buns($ 6.00) are exquisite. The steak panini sandwich(about $ 7.00) is tasty also. The popcorn is hot and free from the machine, but for whatever reason they empty the machine at the end of HH. We have never been here for Karaōke, so I cannot comment on later in the night. Seems odd to me that the place closes too early when there is a bunch of people there. They should figure out their staffing situation and stay open longer in a win-win situation where they make more money and the crowd can stay and enjoy their drinking, or rather … fun. The HH crowd is a diverse mix of people, so most of you will feel comfortable. Don’t forget to validate your parking ticket if you drove! After you are good and drunk you can have sex on Waikiki Beach down near the water where it is dark. Just kidding…(or was I?)

This is an okay bar. Not a great view of Waikiki and the happy hour prices are fairly cheap. Both nights that we went, the air conditioning was on so high it was cold.

We came here twice during this trip. Once on Tuesday for a comedy show and again on Thursday for karaōke. The comedy show was good, but the headlining performer they had on all the advertisements was not present. After the 3 comedians performed they announced the headliner would be back«next week». For us that was bad because we were not going to be there«next week». The three comedians they did have were funny so no harm done. Karaōke on Thursday was very good. The host of the karaōke show was one of the best I’ve seen(and I’ve sung karaōke hundreds of times and even hosted karaōke shows myself). He was an excellent singer to the point that I was wondering why he was a karaōke host. By the end of the night he had a huge crowd(and a long wait to sing). The karaōke show ran from 7pm-10pm, which are odd hours. We were there just about that whole time and the show could have madu much more money from the bar if its hours were 9−12pm. At 10pm the crowd was large and wanted to party — but they had to find somewhere else to do so. The karaōke song lists had a limited selection and were only«by title». I’m pretty sure they had 5 – 10 times more songs available but there was no way to know unless you asked. Having a book«by artist» would be a big help too. IT was a still a great experience overall and we’ll be back when we return to Hawaii.

I don’t even know where to begin… Service Basically non existent… If you go during the weekends before 6 or 7, forget about service. The guy who works the bar is probably one of the most lazy people I have ever met in any service industry. We showed up to try and catch some football while on our honeymoon and staying at the hale koa. This guy sat back and read his paper, made us drinks, never brought them out. We had to go get them. We were the only ones in the bar… Does your heart act up if you move? For such a worthless server he was pretty cocky. He takes the cake for I don’t give a fuck attitude. During a Monday game we had good service, but this guy wasn’t anywhere in sight. Our waitress during that time was prompt, efficient and very respectful. Seems that if you can avoid the fat guy with the paper in the back you will be a ok. The Food What food? They serve a happy hour, but nothing is actually made anywhere near the bar. Don’t even waste your time. This isn’t a I’m a picky little bitch, it truly is a DONTWASTEYOURTIME. The End We only showed up here because we were staying in the hotel and wanted to catch our games. Yes thank god I married a football fanatic. Worst service I have ever experienced. I come from the Portland, OR hipster server central of I don’t give a fuck and this guy here takes the cake. He would be a god in Portland, rude hipsters would bow down to him and drink his sweat… We gave them 3 chances, 3 games then moved on to Buffalo Wild Wings… Well worth the walk, even if we were already staying in the hotel. I hope that when we return this guy will be long gone. If we see his lazy mug we won’t even bother stepping in the door.

The Hale Koa hotel is a military hotel right on the beach and a part of Ft. Derussy. Nice attractive place. You wouldn’t know it was a military hotel by the looks. The Warrior Lounge is open to the public & faces the grounds and beach. We accessed it from the beach. A colleague brought me here for what’s probably one of the better draft beer specials. Happy Hour is 5 — 6:30pm with drink specials including the $ 422oz draft and the 10¢ peel and eat shrimp. Not bad. Touristy and cheesy? A little, but there are a lot of local regulars there too. Really no need to stay after a beer or two, The menu looks okay, but better options out and about.

3.5 — Touristy? Yes. Cheesy? Yes. Cheap and Fun? Yes and Yes! I came here to watch my sister and her friend sing some karaōke as part of their voice class. There’s a live band, dancing and free karaōke which usually starts at 7 p.m. Come early for the happy hour specials between 5 – 6:30 p.m. The food is okay and enough to keep you filled(garlic fries, mini burgers, nachos, calamari, veggie and dip, spicy wings, etc.). Then there’s the drink specials. Kona Longboard, Coors Light and Bud Light on draft were $ 3 for the 16 oz and $ 4 for 22 oz! What kind of crazy deal is that?! Amazing! Leave your inhibitions at the door, come with a group of friends and have a jolly olé time! Fun group of electic peeps here! Promise. ;)

So here’s the deal, and I would like to keep this a secret but I like you Unilocalers… You park at Ft Derussy and you come here to get your parking validated for 6 hours!!! So you spend $ 9 on chilled vodka and a budlight instead of parking what a deal. Also this place isn’t so «nice» but they have the AC cranking! And if you get buzzed enough you can go next door to the jewelry shop and buy your chick some jewelry(tax free) that wasn’t my case but the option is there guys. There is no Belvedere but Adam is a cool bartender and the climate is right when your knees are sticking to your jeans! HOLLA!
