A nice gallery for the First Friday art walk. Good art, although expensive, they have cheaper postcard options for those poor people out there. Free food and water. Also there was a psychic there last time doing readings. If you like art, definitely stop by here.

In addition to some wonderful artwork, I was suprised to find many inexspensive items that would make great gifts for under $ 20. I’m not sure if they were only there for the First Friday artwalk event or if they’re a regular feature.

I recently moved to downtown and one of the perks is walking over to events such as First Friday and Aloha Tower block parties. Well, New Years Day was my first First Friday event and I was really excited. I went along with two other friends who are«virgins» to this event as well so our expectations were high and unfortunately was shot down as the streets were empty! We only found two galleries open and Louis Pohl was our first encounter and naturally one of my highlights as I had nothing to compare it to. The front showroom was filled with ceramic art(Fun-Fantasy-Function). Only a few pieces caught my eye but my favorite must be the wall art using dryer lint! in the next room. This was intriguing so I googled it and dryer lint art has been around for many years now. You can use this material to make dryer lint paper mache, dryer lint clay, and dryer lint paper. On a side note, having an intuition reader during the event was kinda weird. I enjoyed my tour of the gallery but will have to give it 3 stars for now. Hopefully the next First Friday will be more exciting and the vibe of a bigger crowd and other open galleries will make my next experience a better one.
