Love this store! Every year for Black Friday there are 50% coupons in the newspaper. There are no restrictions and it is like a gift from the store that you get to purchase one of their unique items at 50% off! Thank you Tapestries! Go early, have a friend stand in line for you while you shop or better yet pre-select your item and put it on hold. Tapestries is my go to store for unusual, comfy, casual unique items throughout the year. The sales staff are always friendly and helpful. Support local small businesses by visiting Tapestries(Uptown, second floor near Macy’s).

Finally had a chance to stop in to the Pearlridge store, and so happy that I did. Tapestries by Hauoli has been around for some time, but has been tucked away in an odd location at Ala Moana. If you knew it was there, on the lower level near Foodland, you were a lucky woman. This location, just steps from the women’s clothing at Macy’s in Pearlridge, makes so much more sense to me! The store is a nice size, and every inch of space is filled with color. They carry a wide selection of designers, including Flax, Citron, and Cut Loose, and all of the clothing is cut to provide both flair and comfort. The store caters to a certain crowd, women who have realized that cut and quality trump trend. Most of their customers are middle aged women and older, and are looking for approval only from within. This isn’t to say that the clothes are not beautiful, or trendy. They are, just in a different segment of the population than many designers strive to please. I’m happy to call myself a part of the store’s demographic, and I am happy to spend time wandering through the racks. The selection is not inexpensive, but a shopper will discover bargains scattered through the store. The scarf selection is filled with beauty at a reasonable price. It is where I would start a search for a gift for a friend, followed by the jewelry counter. I was looking for something casual yesterday. I need to change my «look» just a bit, and casual clothing is my downfall. I found exactly what I needed, but was distracted by a rack of fancy dresses. Typical me. The sales staff were understanding, and immediately pointed me towards a group of dresses that hit the balance between what I need and what I want. They had not caught my eye as I walked past them at first, but they were a fantastic suggestion. Still, I woke this morning thinking of the dress I left behind. It is too fancy for my every day life, but would be perfect for an evening out and about. I’ll give myself a few more days to contemplate, but I have a feeling that I’ll be back soon. Their selection is wide, but not deep, so things disappear quickly. Now I just have to plan the right event!
