Total Look Makeover

This is my first time getting my hair cut and colored by Nicolette or Nikki. The one thing that was a bit misleading was the pictures on here. So she moved her station to a garage in her house in Aina Haina. I already knew that because of the address but I didn’t know the pictures were not from there. So her little converted salon is just a very simple place, not super clean or gorgeous. So don’t expect a nice fancy salon. BUT, I will give a good review because the cut and color by Nikki was soooo good! I absolutely love my cut.
I picked this place because I really wanted a makeover. My long hair was cut to a short shoulder length/​above shoulder length hair style, plus I did ombré… and I never colored my hair in over 5+ years. Nikki is very nice and she will look through pictures and give you feedback. She’ll also tell you how to style your hair, which is helpful and realistic if you want to maintain a certain look that you envision.
Being that I’m really particular about hair cuts, I notice she does bangs superb. My bangs and how the rest of the hair was layered was simply awesome. On top of that, the color was great. Ombré is basically highlighting your your hair from the bottom up. I was afraid of a look that was too streaky and unnatural looking but it turned out great. I got tons of compliments at work the whole two weeks after doing my makeover. So I highly recommend Total Look Makeover! Just note, its in her garage at her home in Aina Haina. It’s in a residential area, so lots of street parking. Prices are reasonable too.

I highly recommend Nicolette Von because she is skilled, professional and passionate about her work. I have seen her use the scissors so naturally and meticulously with my hair and my friends’ hair. She works out of her cute home and that’s probably how her clients can pay such reasonable prices for high-​quality work. I happily have my hair highlighted regularly and cut by her.

Nicolette, you are a magician. She did exactly what I asked for — layered long bob with balayage. Cut, color, style in just over 3 hours. And the best part is I don’t have to style it in the morning! My hair has NEVER looked better IMO. Styling takes less time to heat up my curling iron. She gave me the haircut every girl wants — low maintenance, looks good when you roll out of bed or dolled up in curls. Magician, I tell you this woman is!
She is not only an exceptional hairstylist, she is so easy to talk to, like an old friend. Book an appointment with her now — she is worth every penny.

Found this place on groupon. In need of a new hair cut and wanted to try the ombré. Came in not expecting the awesome outcome I ended up with. Nicolette was awesome as well as her sister in law and her apprentice. They were not only kind to me but to my daughter and sister as well. They helped me choose the right look for me. I came in looking at a look I thought would be good but came out looking better with their help. They made me feel comfortable and I’ve been to different places but they knew how to help me and get me the best and not just do a job just for the money. They listened to what I wanted and made some inputs that were very helpful! They are the best and I would definitely recommend them to family and friends!!!

I bought the full-​highlights and cut off of Groupon this past December. I haven’t had my hair dyed in 5-​years by a professional. The price was what grabbed by attention. I was a little nervous about what to expect since I was unfamiliar with the location. I have to say that Nicolette is awesome! She is so nice and truly loves doing hair. I am extremely pleased with my blonde highlights and haircut and will definitely be back!
Tips– Parking is $ 2, salon will validate. Bring cash for the parking. Google maps brought me right to the parking garage. Salon is on the 4^th floor there are elevators. I’m not from Honolulu and didn’t find it that hard to get there.

Nicky is the best! She truly cares about your hair as much as you care about your hair. I had very dark hair and wanted to lighten it up for the first time in my life. Nicky really knows her stuff. If you ask her for recommendations she will provide them. So after taking about it with her I decided on a balayage/​ombré. I was not let down. It came out perfect. She’s very busy and her phone is always ringing off the hook but she never answers while she has someone in the chair. So, if you’ve been trying to get a hold of her & were not successful, wait a little bit because she does get back ti you. Trust me, the wait is worth it!

I don’t get my hair done because no one has ever really known what to do with my super fine, borderline curly hair, and therefore it has historically looked like the uneven mess of a hippie or homeless person. However, when I collaborated with Nicolette on a recent hair show, I got it trimmed/​cut for the first time in 4 years, and now my hair looks better than it has ever looked since it decided to curl when I was 12! She knew just what to do so it would curl not sloppily, forming ringlets that now frame my face nicely. I haven’t changed my hair routine since getting the cut, but it always looks great now after I’ve slathered on the anti-​frizz treatment as usual. Very happy with this low-​maintenance cut!

Total makeover! My hair needed some help. Nicolette was great trying to get my hair some symmetry. No one has cut my hair the way she does. She is a perfectionist and that is an awesome trait. She takes her time to make sure everything us right. I recommend her for any of you hair and make up needs. She is punctual. Get a facial from her in her own little room.
I dyed my hair red and it came out beautiful. She know her stuff. She knew what red to pick for me and I couldn’t have been happier.
I recommend to do your appointments in advance. I know I’m getting a facial soon. :)
The studio is clean, neat, and friendly. Parking is $ 2.

If I could give Nicollette 10 stars, I would! Nicollette is punctual, energetic, honest and fun to hang out with! You’ll definitely find me in her studio often!
