Unilocal 365: 029⁄365 Sorry everyone, this review is long overdue. I’ve been so busy lately. No time for myself, let alone for Unilocal.By the way the misses wrote most of this… Held at Kochi’s and it was our first UYE! It was a much more intimate event(versus the elite events) where we actually got to meet and chat with other Unilocalers. It was great to meet all these awesome Unilocalers! Much thanks to Les M. for organizing this event! The place itself, Kochi, was nicer than what the miss(us) imagined. There seemed to be limited parking and was surrounded by «semi-dingly» looking buildings(Jimbo’s and Gulick). We were gathered in the lounge area, and the interior atmosphere was set nice. Since we were at Kochi’s during happy hour, we got some of the specials. We got to try the corned beef hash balls, chicken katsu, and spicy wings for $ 5 each. Funny story… when the waiter brought all those dishes, he asked the miss(us) if it was all for her. She nodded her head and the waiter had to ask if she was eating it all by herself. Of course, she replied that the mister was sharing with her. And the waiter thought she was going to eat it all herself… Anyway, the food was really good! We also got to sample someone’s agedashi tofu. Yummers! Only unfortunate thing was that we were not able to try their happy hour drinks– he was taking medicine and she was recovering from stomach problems. But next time, we’ll definitely try it! Service itself was pretty decent. The waiters and waitress’ were energetic and accommodating to our group. Although there were times when ordered drinks and food took a while to come out, the service people made up for it with their positive attitudes and hustling service. Overall, we had a great time and can’t wait for the next UYE!

Unilocal Challenge 365 # 34⁄365 It was a gathering of new friends, great fellowship coupled with great food and drinkie. What more can one ask for at a UYE? As to the monthly event on the Unilocal Challenge, I got personally meet and thank Racquel S. who thought of this Unilocal Challenge idea(boy! it’s a tough one; like going to school and having to do your homework daily… yikes!) and to Les M. who planned and coordinated this UYE. The turnout was great, it looked like a continuation of Saturday’s Oceans Farewell and Sunday’s Hungover at the Beach. I will look forward to next month’s event… whereever it may be. Good Job Les M!

1st365 Gathering of the year all thanks to Les M. for organizing the event! So grateful for all his help because he called in advance and reserved us the sweet space by the bar and got us all separate checks! Never been to Kochi’s and what an awesome way to experience it with great company! Got here a little after 5 and the place was already packed with Unilocalers! Got to meet new Unilocalers and some that came out to their 1stUYE and it was just an awesome crowd. Our waiters were extremely nice and serviced us very well, they were constantly checking on our drinks and if we wanted to order more food. I must say there Happy Hour is fantastic! $ 3 domestic beer, $ 4 imported, $ 5 Pupus and I know there were a lot of their drinks on the HH menu too! The pupus were delish… I got to taste the Yakisoba(noodles with pork), popcorn tako, french fries and the chicaron(deep fried belly fat/pork). My favorite was the french fries because I liked how it was soft. I love soft french fries… I know most people like it crunchy! I like it almost soggy :) Don’t ask why, never figured it out myself. And my friend and I shared the bill along with two drinks and it our total came out to $ 33! Seriously? Thats great HH! Now I know I can come here during HH and be full and enjoy it too! Can’t wait till the next edition… September! #Yelp 365 Challenge: 032⁄365

I just love spending time with my fellow Unilocalers and what better way than the this UYE! I had not been to Kochi before. I wish I had because this is a great place to have a get together with sushi bar, restaurant, and a lounge. Happy hour was on when I arrived and it featured $ 3 domestics and $ 4 imports with $ 4 chilled Patron! There were also many food items to choose from for $ 5 or less each. I ordered chicken katsu, teriyaki chili edamame, and a Corona. Fellow Unilocalers were so nice and I was offered and got to try many other dishes besides the ones I ordered. I would have to agree with Esteban and say that the Corned Beef Hashballs were pretty good! These were deep fried balls that resembled andagi, but were much different inside being filled with corned beef hash. The french fries were yummy too. I really liked the Agedashi tofu with it’s slightly crispy outside and soft inside with shoyu. The servers were really nice and fast here and even though we had many people in our group, we were able to get separate checks and there was no minimum purchase amount. Much thanks to Bubs and Racquel for helping to put this together and anyone that I missed! It was really nice seeing old faces again, meeting new people, and making new friends. Can’t wait for the next one! #Yelp 365 — 34⁄365
