Sweet Teri Burgers that have been soaking for hours in their special sauce; which is delish, and creates high demand, thus long lines and patience for parking.

W & M Bar-B-Q Burger knows their way around a good old-fashion burger. My regular order is a Royal and Fries. Soft white bun, iceberg lettuce, tomato, onion, and that charbroiled burger soaked in secret sauce. It’s an homey burger made fresh to order. Check out W & M for lunch. The fries are hot, the soda is green(Green River), and if you don’t want another burger they also have hot dogs, steak sandwiches, and desserts.

Everyone knows the burgers are great, but have you tried their desserts? Omg, strawberry guava cheesecake, pumpkin crunch, custard topped butter mochi! You can tell they’re homemade with lots of love. Don’t pass these up!

Old school hamburgers that have been around for decades. I remember coming to W&M when I was a little kid and I love coming back now and having the same great tasting burger. I like getting the deluxe burger. It comes with lettuce, tomato and onions. Make sure to say yes to the sauce. What makes W&M burgers special is the sweet Teri taste of the meat. It’s so juicy and soft. It’s perfect. I also always get the crab salad and a side of fries. Parking can be tricky in this location so either call ahead or bring someone with you who can jump out of the car and pick up the order.

I remember W&M at Market City when it was funny to watch the neon bun chasing the burger. I remember the location at 9th Avenue. What I really remember is that smell. You know, the ones that makes you salivate because our ancestors used to make Brontosaurus burgers. I also remember having trouble deciding if I should go to Chico’s Pizza where City Mill now stands to play some old school pinball machines or St Louis Delicatessen for after school snacks. There is something about the marinade in W&M burgers that make you wanna come back over and over. The bun is light, the mayo just right and the veggies just compliment the sweet meat. The fries aren’t that great. I wish they were fat or crinkly fries. I wanted so bad to eat two more but Darcie wouldn’t let me.

The best burgers I tasted in the island. Burgers are cheap and super Ono. The fries good too. Located next to City Mill on Waialae. Its a pretty small place so you might miss it if you are driving too fast. Workers are super sweet and friendly.

The burgers smell way better than they taste. When you’re nearby you can’t help but smell the BBQ burgers. It’s kind of pricey and parking, oh well. Most people end up parking at City Mill. I will eat here when it’s not crowded.

This is my fave burger in town after the closing of the Whole Ox Deli. But before the arrival of gourmet burgers, this was my place. I remember picking up royals & fries(if you could get parking) and driving up to St. Louis Heights Park for a picnic. Teri-beefy-cheesey goodness. Good times…

Been going to this place sporadically since I was a kid. My Dad would take me here after I would get my haircut at Sue’s 9th Avenue Barbershop(shows my age, I know), and I would have the regular barbeque burger and some fries… it was better than all the other fast food places. Now as an adult, I have the Royal Burger with everything on it and fries, and it’s STILL the best place for burgers on the island. Of course, this place is a Mom and Pop type place since its start, so like those places, parking is not great and the hours are short by big-box store standards… however, if you want greatness, you’ll have to put in the effort to get it.

Would be four stars because burgers are cheap and good. But, parking is terrible. When parking is full the parking stalls are worse than having no parking. Plus, service is slow.

Delish. Nothing fancy or flashy, just a well made burger. The fries were crispy. The parking was a little tricky, just be patient. The folks behind the counter was friendly & service was quick.

I started going here way back in high school.(Needless to say, it’s been a long time.) This should tell you that their food has stood the text of time! The menu is simple so you can pick out what you want quickly. They have burgers, cheeseburgers, Royal Burgers. You can also have these burgers made with steak meat instead. There are fries, crab salad, and dessert. AND Green River, people! The parking can be a pain, but I will brave it for the food. There is no place to sit and eat, so if you eat there, it will be at a counter that they have to the right of the order window. When you approach the window, the menu is behind the cashier. There is also a menu on the counter for you to look at it. There are also take home menus for you in a stand. You have the option to call in your order, so if you have a LARGE order, take that option. You don’t really have to stand in the order line if you order ahead. You can check in at the pickup window, and then go to #3(it’s just a place to stand next to the order line), and you will be able to pay for your food, and grab it and go! The burgers. What can I say? They are always good. I have never had one bad burger from this place. The ladies in front can always recommend burgers and toppings if it’s your first time ordering. The fries always made to a perfect crisp. I like the imitation crab salad. I have not tried the desserts yet because I like to fill my belly with their burgers and fries. Green River is always flowing in the dispenser, if you want to relive good times from your childhood. This place is just a solid place to go to when ever you are in the area for good drive in burger food!

Hawaii’s original burger joint that’s been around forever! Basic menu of burgers(w/Cheese, plain or Royal w/onions, tomatoes). I like to consider W&M to be the closest that Hawaii has to an In&Out Burger. However, it’s old school, no drive-through & standing area to eat. I like to just eat it in the car before I drive. It’s fairly small burgers, but one will do, unless you’re really hungry, then get another. A MUST in Hawaii if u want a good old fashion homemade burger!

Okay, don’t be fooled by the three stars — this place has some bomb burgers. But while delicious, I feel like there’s nothing OVERLY exciting about this joint. We finally made it to this place after years of passing by it while it was closed — their hours are spotty and they aren’t open past 4:30, which is my prime eating time — and after maneuvering into the little parking lot, we got in line to explore the menu. This place reminds me of the local burger joints back home — fairly priced, good food, no extras, plain and simple. The menu isn’t extensive, which definitely isn’t a bad thing, so it didn’t take me long to settle on a cheeseburger, fries, and a Coke. The lady working was friendly enough and my order clocked in around $ 9 — not terrible, but also not suuuuuper cheap for what’s more or less fast food. We got our food and took it home, as there’s no seating in the immediate area. This is definitely a «grabbing lunch on the go» kinda place, which makes it’s hours of «during business hours» make sense. After getting home and devouring the burger and fries, I was super satisfied. The burger was fresh and good, and the fries were salty and delicious, and the Coke was, well, Coke. But it just seemed to lack that WOW factor for me that I was hoping for after hearing so many great things about the food. Maybe that’s a little picky, but that’s what would push my rating to a 4 or 5 star kinda place. Don’t get me wrong, I could see myself going back here again, but depending on my budget, I might spring a few more dollars for a bigger, fancier burger, or be stingy and swing by McDonald’s instead. I guess we’ll see!

Every trip home, I have to eat at W&Ms! Their char teri burgers are so simple, but so tasty! I like my burger plain with just mayo. Sometimes I will get lettuce and tomato. Whatever they marinate their burgers in is just perfect. Every teri burger I have I compare to W&Ms, nothing is better! The patty isn’t fancy, but it’s their sauce that really is broke da mouth! Their fries are good and oily and the crab salad is mostly mayo, but I love it with the burger! For vegetarians, their boca burger is just as ono! I love mom and pops like W&M, it keeps Kaimuki’s nostalgic feel. Parking can get pretty congested at times, sometimes we park at City Mill.

Classic Local BBQ Burgers. You want a burger made and bred in Hawaii? This is the place to get it! They have been in business since the 1940’s. It’s their secret bbq sauce that marinates into their burgers which makes it so addicting. This burger has become a craving for me and also brings me back to intermediate school days. FOOD A ROYALBURGER and fries please! The royal burger has lettuce, tomato, onions, and cheese. The meat itself has sooo much flavor infused into it, that each bite makes you want more! The taste is similar to a teri burger, but way better of course, without the dripping teri sauce mess. I always tell myself why didn’t I order another burger! Ahhhh! They also have VEGGIEBURGERS, STEAKBURGERS, and HOTDOGS. Also one of the places that still sell the GREENRIVERDRINK. I’m also curious to try their CRABFLAVOREDSALAD. Their FRIES are always hot and crispy. ENVIRONMENT Located on the famous Waialae Avenue in between City Mill and St. Louis School. No seats, just a bar like table to stand & eat. Some people eat in their cars. I wish they wouldn’t though due to the limited parking. So please have some consideration and please just eat it at home, work, or at a park even. SERVICE Everything is made to order, so get ready to wait. Service is fine. Family owned business. They now accept credit cards. CONCLUSION Sure it may look like a simple burger, but the meat is so packed with flavor and the crunch of the fresh vegetables just make it so onolicious! I’ll always be coming back!

It’s great to see eating places that have staying power. I haven’t eaten here in years and I love the nostalgic feeling I get just by looking at the building. Personally, I think the food quality has gone down, and the portion size shrunk. So what’s new? I guess they’re not immune to the increasing costs of doing business in Hawaii. I ordered the deluxe burger and it was more of a regular hamburger to me. Especially compared to the newer burger joints out there where a deluxe is twice the size and packed with extras. The burger itself was dried out and on the colder side of warm. Probably because it wasn’t very busy and the patty was just waiting to be served. The fries were extra crispy, because the guy in front of me ordered them that way and I got his leftovers. It tasted more like chips and I was disappointed that I didn’t get plain ol’ French fries. Next time I’ll order the royal with an extra patty, extra sauce, regular(not crispy) fries, and a green river! If not for the cute little lady and the quiet older gentleman behind the counter, I would’ve given one less star in my rating. Day-in and day-out they work tirelessly in a hot and smoke-filled kitchen to keep their burger customers happy. That’s gotta be worth something.

W & M is old school, no frills, good eats. Located next to City Mill with a tiny parking lot. Walk up to that counter, make your order, and take your food to go(or eat it in the car) cause there isn’t a sitting area. The aunties that take your order are friendly and helpful. The food is so good! The burgers are thin but are topped with fresh veggies(on the Royal) and the house made Teri sauce they soak the patties in is flavorful and not too sweet. I love the fries! They taste like McDonalds fries but better! And the green river drink is a non carbonated kool-aid type drink that reminds me of childhood. I will be coming here for my fast food cravings since I no longer go to chain fast food restaurants like Mickey ds or jack in the box. Make sure you come around lunch or for afternoon snack cause I think they’re closed at night.
