Ordered a Bear, a cheese pizza and ice cream. The bear was very good although a couple people thought it was too spicy. The cheese pizza was way over cooked. The ice cream was awesome. Overall this is a good place for pizza but we have had better locally. Davannis is even better.

I love Pizza Luce for the fact that they have unique flavors and seasonal specials. This is a review on tonight’s flavor experience. I ordered the Korean Steak pizza and was slightly disappointed. Although the delicious beef, red onion, basil, and cilantro marry well with the sweet chili sauce, the jalapeños took over the show. I love spicy! But the amount of jalapeños outweighed every other ingredient on the pizza. I was disappointed that the name sake, Korean Beef, was added sparingly; like an after thought. My recommendation, increase the beef and reduce the heat(jalapeños). It’s about balance. If you can’t taste the other ingredients, then what’s the point?

I would give the pizza and salads a 4 star. It’s good stuff. But they earn five stars for their service. I had Elly as our server and she was awesome. She was on key with the drinks. We never went dry. She had a great attitude, funny, and knows the menu. Pizza Luce should not loose her.

I don’t even know where to start. I love this place. It doesn’t matter if it is brunch, lunch or dinner, it’s always good. Luce has a patio right on the Greenway and there is a constant stream of bikers at the bar. Brunch: I’ve had numerous Eggs Benedict, my favorite is the original. The hollandaise is amazing. The breakfast burrito is also solid. Lunch/Dinner: The pizza is good. Sandwiches are good. Salads are good. The wings are good. Notice a trend? Personally, I’m a huge fan of The Bear — it’s heaven for carnivores. The Ruby Rae is also very good. Bar: There is a great selection of beer, wine and cocktails. Tap beers rotate so there’s always something new to try. Overall, the food is always fresh, the beer is cold and the atmosphere is great. I have enjoyed every trip to Luce! They do have trivia on Wednesday nights! 9p.

Great food, but service is lacking. Took my mom out for dinner and it took over an hour for us to get our dinner. The wait staff came over and explained the kitchen had made a mistake and they put in for a new meal for my mom. No apology was given. 30 minutes later we get the pizza– which was now cold and and a fresh meal for my mom. The wait staff never checked back in until we waved them down for drinks and boxes. I get that mistakes are made in the kitchen, we are all human. But a simple I’m sorry and then maybe comp our sodas or something… well it goes a long way. If I grab food from Pizza Luce in Hopkins– it will be take out. I’m over eating in, this isn’t the first time we have had issues with service there sadly. Again, food, amazing, customer service lacking severely.

Decided to give their weekend brunch a try since the menu looked really good. It wasn’t too busy so that was good especially when it was also Mothers Day. I ordered the Pesto Benedict. The Pesto hollandaise sauce was alright. I enjoyed the artichoke spread more. It was more flavorful. I also wished the hashbrown was not served under the eggs Benedict because the hollandaise sauce made it quite soggy. The Salmon Benedict was no different. Instead of the Italian sausage patty, it was cooked salmon. Baja Burrito Verde with chicken. It was good. Everything inside was good from the fluffy eggs, to the jalapenos. I liked that the jalapeño was still crunchy. Its basically an omelette in a burrito. Cajun Skillet with added chorizo. I really wish I could like this because I love trying anything with the word Cajun in it. It was plain. Even the chorizo didn’t have that mexican taste to it or any spicyness. I was just glad I didn’t order this dish instead of the pesto benedict. Decent brunch. I’d come back to try other things. Plus, I like the pizza at this location.

Pizza Luce has the best pizza in the Metro. A great beer menu kept our thirst in. Check while we enjoyed the meatball appetizer and Spanish chicken pizza. The meatballs were drenched(in a good way) in sauce with just the right amount of mozz sprinkled on top. The Spanish Chicken pizza was cooked to perfection, with delicious flavor that had us wanting more… so we came back a week later. Yum!

My husband and I ordered a pizza from here for the first time this week, and we were not disappointed! The mashed potato pizza is absolutely delicious and has left me craving more. Also, the lady that delivered our pizza was very friendly and even took the time to answer other questions I had about the restaurant and other items on the menu. I will definitely be ordering from Pizza Luce again and will most likely become a frequent diner at the restaurant!

I came here for a networking lunch, and absolutely LOVE their lunch option of half a sandwich and a salad. I had the Caesar salad, and it was delicious. The person I was with ordered a sandwich and a salad(which the name of is escaping me) but she also raved about the salad! The only complaint I had about this visit was that the bread was just too hard. I know that they are toasted«hoagies» but that doesn’t mean that the bread has so much crunch that it hurts the top of my mouth. That is why it got 4 stars instead of 5. I hope that next time the bread isn’t’ that crunchy and hard. Other than that, I will definitely be returning to Pizza Luce in the future.

Omg I love pizza lucè, but our server John F. was the worst, he was never there took over 6 minutes to greet. The food was really good but, it took over 30 minutes to get a veggie meatball sandwich, and meatball app., our server blamed the kitchen rather than apologizing. Probably going to stick to the Richfield one from now on, because of there consistent good service!

It’s tough for me to put a rating to my experience with this location of this chain. Granted, it IS across the street from my apartment right now-so it’s often convenient. However, of all the times I’ve gotten actual pizza from here, things have certainly been a miss for me. I’m not sure if there’s just an amazing kind that I haven’t actually tried yet-or if a place with the word«pizza» in the name is just plain bad at pizza. Things that I feel they CAN do right are weekend brunch! It’s always nice to wake up late and walk across the street and have some Salmon Benedict-which is just my absolute favorite! There’s also a Bloody Mary bar, if you’re the one person in the twin cities who doesn’t already know about it. The spinach and artichoke dip is also very good, I’ve had it on many occasions with friends and it just hits the spot! Another quick and easy thing I can call on my drive home from work and have ready are the parmigiana hoagies, the chicken and meatball are my favorites! Needless to say, I will still be coming here and desperately hoping to find a pizza that stands up to other places I’ve had-and in the meantime, there’s hoagies and brunch! Definitely worth a shot, if you’ve never been before!

I feel like over the years Pizza Luce has changed from being a quirky, fresh lucky find to now enjoying their still tasteful dishes while reminiscing on the glory days. Perhaps the downtown locations are still like this, I can’t rule out the possibility, but at least the Hopkins location in the burbs has left me feeling nostalgic. The pizza, don’t get me wrong, is still quite good. Unique flavors and concoctions(Baked Potato, Pizza Athena, The Wrangler… the list goes on). I always love a good Hawaiian too.(Pizza). We tried the Wild Mushroom and Arugula most recently and it was lacking the zest that I thought was implied by «wild». It was a bit blah so next time I’ll be sticking to one of those on the previously stated list. We also got ½ Fire Breathing Dragon which had much more of a zing to it and yes, the flavor was there on this one so that was a win in our book. The food is 4-star worthy but the service and all-around experience gets a 3 this time… unfortunately I was inclined to round down. Pizza Luce always seems to be crowded, so plan accordingly. We still got right in but were seated in what appeared to be the kid room? It’s tucked away by the bathrooms and I don’t think it was purposefully designated as for children, but they were EVERYWHERE. We, as four adults, actually felt weird about it which is hence why we looked at across each other like«ok why we were placed in the kid room?» Ha. Not bad, but it was just a little weird. Also, something seemed a bit off with our server too. Someone from our group said that it was pretty chilly where our table was placed since we were directly under an air conditioning vent and she just shrugged and said«Yeah we get that a lot.» Ok… She wasn’t very attentive either and a couple of things were forgotten yet still charged on our bill. Long story short, this is not one of the better locations. The pizza is still good, and getting it to-go or delivered would still be a safe option, but dining in at this location wouldn’t necessarily be my first choice. They have a nice ample sized parking lot and a patio for when we get those nice weather days. Worth trying out I’d say.

Just had the 16″ dragon pizza and it blew out every pizza place in this area for pizza. … beeks, not that great and overrated. … sarpinos is good in other areas but the one at the Knollwood mall is greasy and not that great… pizza luce however, first time ordering they delivered on time and well worth the money. My gf always asks me how the food is and I usually tell her it’s edible which means really not worth it. Pizza luce is definitely worth it. … Order the dragon pizza

I have been here twice, once for after an Optum sponsored conference and my wife brought home some left over pizza I had for two nights. Really great pizza and a good beer selection. Lots of solid meat toppings and not too greasy. I like that the toppings are stronger than the cheese. Overall a great pizza place that plays to the masses, but is still really good with awesome toppings.

We love Pizza Luce. The pizzas are a great relatively thin, nicely chewy, and flavorful. Beyond the usual mix of toppings they have some great combos(Ruby Rae with sauce on the top and nicely spiced sausage; Spanish Chicken with chicken, Gouda and onions; The Bear with all meats known to pizza). Ask about the seasonal specials which are also good. Their salads are crisp and loaded with fun veggies. Their sandwiches are the only thing that falls short. I find the focaccia ends up tasting too dry and bready. A nice assortment of local and micro brews, some fun cocktails, and great happy hours both early and late night round it out. Also THEYHAVEBRUNCH. I need to say that since a lot of people forget that. Think fun twists on the classics. Pesto or Wild Mushroom Benedict’s, Egg Pizza, or my favorite the Burrito with chorizo on a bed of crispy hash browns. Oh I almost forgot. Weekend Bloody bar for only $ 6. Nice assortment of add ons.

There’s no reason to deduct any stars. The food, service and atmosphere is all great. The pizzas are delicious full of wonderful topping choices and excellent excellent sauce. The best I’ve tasted. The service is also great. We went at a very busy time yet were seated quickly and served quickly and paid attention to but not overly done. Everyone seems happy to be here

Every time my family and I go here(or order delivery) we always say, ‘maybe this will be the time’. As we have never been overly impressed with Pizza Luce and we certainly don’t understand it’s popularity. Our family likes to dine out and we like quality ingredients that taste good. We expect to pay a little more for a finer dining experience, so it really stings a bit when we pay more expecting that experience and we don’t get it. That being said here is my review… 1. DON’T ORDERDELIVERY. We eat gluten free and the GF crust offered here is terrible. It’s especially terrible when delivered. Every time we have ordered the GF pizzas the crust have been soggy to the point of pudding type texture. They are also one size only: small. AND the GF crusts carry an ‘up charge’ AND customers are not allowed to use any specials or coupons on the GF pizzas. We have never once had a good GF pizza delivery situation. 2. Stay away from bigger orders. We have a family of 5(plus friends) and usually go here at the end of a busy day when we are just too tired and don’t feel like making food for all the kids and their friends. When we go here(or order delivery) with bigger orders items are missed, mixed up, under cooked, etc… 3. The ingredients never seem fresh. We have ordered several different style pizzas and have never been wowed by the flavors, texture, freshness. With exception to the brussel sprouts… These are awesome. All in all, PLuce seems to excel and cater to a 2 – 4 person party of people who are just looking for an average pizza to split while chugging some beers. It’s more of a higher priced college aged target crowd and not really a finer tasting pizza experience. We will look elsewhere in the future as the GF pizzas here are terrible and expensive.

We eat here somewhat regularly(or carry out). I need to be gluten and dairy free which is often difficult. Pizza Luce makes it easy! The spinach salad is great and every pizza my normal eating companions have eaten has reportedly been good. I seldom can order dessert so the molly bar is a real treat. The vegan gluten free pizza is so so. But what can be done with those limitations? Definitely one of my favorites.

The first pizza shown on the menu is the wild mushroom. Be prepared to scar away the vampires as the roasted garlic was plentiful. I also loved the taste of the caramelized onions. I’m glad that we ordered extra mozzarella. The only thing I wish they could improve on is the salad dressing. It would be nice to have a house salad dressing. If I were to order another salad, it would be the Caesar as the home made dressing was delicious.

Garlic mashed potato pizza. ohmygawd. You really can’t go wrong on pizza orders here. The slightly crisp and stretchy crust is excellent, the sauce is a perfect medley of tomato and seasonings with just a slight touch of sweetness, and the cheese is deliciously rich. Seriously, what more could you ask of a pizza?! If you want to dine inside around 5−8pm you’ll probably have at least a 20 minute wait, especially on weekends. The outdoor patio seems to have a quicker seat time. I’ve gotten takeout from this location on multiple occasions and the pizza is almost always ready in less time than what they tell me, so plan on getting there early so your pizza is extra fresh. Located on the bike trail that goes through Hopkins(the Loose Line trail or is it still the Greenway there?), this is a fun destination or mid-way stop for a day out on the bike. The outdoor patio is my favorite. Overlooking the trail and with a bar that opens up to the indoor bar on warm days, it’s a shady and relaxed space. Cool off with a beer, fill up with a pizza, hop back on the bike.

I love this place! I live in the neighborhood so frequent it often. It’s been consistent every time. The staff is very friendly me welcoming. I think the pizza is amazing! If you’re a big time carnivore like me I suggest The Bear pizza. It has five kind of meat on it! Seriously, it’s all good though, even the brunch on Sunday’s. I do suggest going early on weekend evenings because table can fill fast.

Pizza Luce and«Meh». Peanut Butter and Jelly. They just belong together. The pizza is great when you’re a little tipsy and you realize its 1:45AM and you need to eat, yet you are smart enough not to drive, or when you really don’t want to go into the city and don’t want to sit down at a «fast casual» restaurant – the two occasions Pizza Luce has fit the bill for me. It’s OK pizza. Nothing that when I’m craving Pizza, I’d seriously think about driving to Hopkins to grab Pizza Luce. It’s definitely a restaurant of convenience. The last time I was there I actually ate at the restaurant too and was very underwhelmed with the demeanor of the staff and their extreme lack of attentiveness. Not that it’s some high class get-up, but c’mon people whatever happened to the golden rule? Now that I know Davanni’s delivers to SLP(they have a lovely little map online of their delivery area), I probably won’t be ordering from Pizza Luce anymore.

I eat at the Seward Luce frequently, but now we live in St. Louis Park and boy, am I happy with the Hopkins location! The other spot gets 4 stars for quality everything, but a few nights ago, I had one of the best slices I’ve ever had of an American-style pizza from this location. That’s right, the Chupacabra. You probably had it in mind when I said that already. With pineapple, ginger-sesame pulled pork, cilantro, pesto, and a strange combination of other flavors to boot, my tastebuds went on an adventure as I got tang, citrus, sweet, spicy, and every other flavor known to man working in perfect harmony on a soft, delicious crust. We got half-Athena, and while I am absolutely obsessed with the Athena, I would bet money that I’ll be getting a large Chupacabra within the next month. Maybe 2. Some restaurants make stellar dishes, Luce is no exception. Fan-feakin’-tastic. I’m not sure if the Seward location’s take on this pie is this good, but the folks in Hopkins made me a really wonderful dinner and I am eternally thankful for that.

The zas that the Pizza Luce chains push out are usually consistent in taste and composition; however, my most recent visit left me susceptible to flirting with other sexy, hot, and voluptuous pizzerias with better, errrrrr, meaty flavors. In other words, it was an underwhelming experience. Sure, I don’t mind waiting fifteen minutes to order and half an hour for our food. I understand restaurants get busy, especially on a Saturday night. In addition, Pizza Luce’s service has never been an issue for me… Sadly, the thing that I didn’t love all too much was the sub-par pizza we ate that night(The Maximus), where the meats, and their fellow cheese brethren, were immediately pulled off with each bite leaving each slice dough-ass naked with speckles of tomato sauce. Am I a pizza connoisseur? Hardly.(LOL!) I do know, though, that toppings shouldn’t fall off like Kanye West’s talent or Kevin Love’s loyalty to the Timberwolves. Look, Pizza Luce will forever have a special place in my heart. I mean, I LOVE their garlic potato w/feta! For this location, though, I feel that it’s just A-OK. I wouldn’t recommend this place, but I wouldn’t object to going there, either.

I called here hoping to get delivery to my office in Eden Prairie, but was told we were located«just out of range» for delivery. Boo. No worries — I hopped online, fired-up Luce’s website, and placed an order for pick-up. The earliest the online system would allow me to schedule pick-up was for 1 hour from the time of my order. I arrived exactly at the prescribed pick-up time; the bar was largely empty. A friendly bartender immediately greeted me and asked what I’d like to drink. As good as a nice cold Surly sounded, I had to defer… she ran back to grab the pizzas. The pizzas appeared to have been ready quite a bit earlier; the bottom box was wrinkly and damp, as if it had been sitting for a while. I signed for the order and made my way back to the office. Each pizza was perfect, if not a little bit cold… combine the 10 minute drive from Hopkins to Eden Prairie with the«sit time» that they had while at the store, and it left a little room for improvement. Everything else was otherwise awesome. Pizza Luce is some seriously good pizza, even when it’s not piping-hot-fresh.
