They’ve got a pepper-happy chef. I ordered a gluten-free pizza with plain red sauce, broccoli, artichoke hearts and ground beef. The crust was hard as nails and browned but worst of all, the pizza was saturated with black pepper — so much so that you couldn’t taste the flavors. I’ve ordered here before and it’s always the same. The cook so over-does the pepper that it ruins the food.

While my son’s Marguerita Pizza was great, my Wild Mushroom and Arugula was poor; very skimpy on the toppings, the cheese coverage so poor that it didn’t cover the crust and was thin where it was, and I expected some decent amount of mushrooms on it given it supposedly had four variants on it. It was also pretty bland, at least partly due to the skimpy toppings. I think I’ll try another location before writing off the chain. Not all of the wait staff know their beers, either. I hear that famous Chicago outfit opened up in Minneapolis, too, Uptown. Next on my list.
edit/update: given there is a review from exactly a year earlier showing two pictures of poorly covered pizza, I wish I had looked here before going to Hopkins Luce.

Went here last night for a quick Happy Hour and the bartender was very friendly, food was great, and MN beer was $ 1.00 off (on Mondays)

When they do it right it’s very good but they are incredibly inconsistent. Half the time they miss something. Ex. Forgot the tofu on a tofu salad. Now that’s just sad. I always feel like I’m taking a risk when I go here.

quick delivery, indifferent pizzeria.
we asked for extra cheese… this is what we got.
A lot of extra crust… not good.
They offered to make us a new one if we brought it back to their store. Really?
Let’s see if I get this; you took a whole 35 minutes to get the pizza to us, now I have to drive back to YOU and wait ANOTHER 35 minutes to get the new pizza I should’ve received to begin with, with no guarantee it’ll be any better…
…because why?

I have never actually been to the restaurant but frequently order delivery using their online ordering system. The online tool is very user friendly and easy to use. Orders always come quickly and the drivers are very polite and respectful. We order pizzas, salads, and wings primarily. The Peking and Buffalo wings are both very good and you can order them well done if you like more of a crispy wing. We usually build our own pizzas but have tried the Maximus and the Margherita. The Maximus is phenomenal and we always get extra cheese. While we loved the flavor of the Margherita, the one we got was a little dry and would have been much better with extra cheese. I’d get the Margherita again but definitely with extra cheese.
