I really love this concept, and I really have enjoyed everything I’ve had here. Think of this as the subway for pizza — you start with just a plain crust(gluten free for no extra charge ++), then have the option of different base sauces(white, red, pesto etc) and a schmorgasbord of toppings! They have unique offerings such as capers, fresh garlic, fresh cut herbs such as basil and cilantro, artichokes etc. They do have premade concoctions if you choose to go that route as well. After building your ‘za, they toss it in the piping hot over for 3 minutes and you have your pie! They offer an awesome selection of local MN beers, and some Sutter Home wine. Pizzas are $ 7.95, but for $ 10 you get a pizza and your choice of beer or wine — great deal! They have the usual suspects of red pepper flakes, parmesan and oregano for the table, and a Freestyle pop machine for all sorts of options. I saw on my way out that you can also concoct your own salad which was a cool alternative too. Great stop — always make sure I swing in when i see one!

Anybody from this store care to explain why there were no employees at the location to help me, a customer? I came in around 2:30pm today and there were no employees to be found. A woman, who was on her break(because she was eating in the seating area), went to the back but when she returned, no one else came out. I even called the store directly and no answer. Hopefully, people were updating their resumes for future jobs that don’t involve customer service. Go to Pizza Luce down the street.

Yuck nasty pizza that was hardly cooked and had to search for the cheese. I really wanted to like this place since I’m obsessed with pizza but a frozen totinos would satisfy you better than this pizza.

Loved this concept. Service was engaging and they have Coke products. A must have for me. Make your own with all ingredients at one price. Very tasty sauce, that is key for me! Also try those fun mini cakes! A huge favorite of ours! Yum!

Building your own pizza is the way to go. Decent selection of beers for a fast casual restaurant.

Ugh. I should never write a review based on a first visit. I’ve been here at least a dozen times. It has become a favorite date place for my 2.5 yr old and me. Choose your own ingredients will be your best bet. It’s cheap and I can have a beer.

I freaking love this place! I love pizza but hate how I get charged extra for more than 3 toppings. And let’s not even get into the great debate of what to order and disagreeing about mushrooms or olives. The solution, this place! No longer do you need to battle for your favorite toppings with friends, or lessen the pizza awesomeness. You can try different things each time and not spend half your months rent on a pizza. The size is perfect! Eat 2⁄3 take the rest home and have a late night snack. Pizza rev, you have sparked a revolution for sure!

I love the made to order pizza. Add as many ingredients as you like, and they’re happy about it. They can’t accept tips, so the price is fixed.

Read the below with a Chicago accent(Da Bears). As a former Chicagoan, I know pizza very well. And I’ve been fortunate to find many great pizza establishments in the Twin Cities over the past ten years. However, Pizza Rev is absolutely not on that list! I love the concept but the execution lacks flavor, the service is ok but nothing special. There is absolutely no reason to visit this place unless you love bland food.

I have a pet peeve about trendy gourmet pizza joints: it’s that I’ll eat lots of kinds of pizza but when given options I like to have pizza the way I like it. That might vary by the day but usually involves no fewer than 8 different types of flavorful toppings for maximum taste co-mingling. Usually, this habit is an expensive one. At places like Punch that allow you to build your own personal pizza you can end up paying over $ 10(and quick!) for a small, sparsely adorned hand tossed pie and feel you’re getting gypped for a small number of toppings(especially if like me you focus on inexpensive veggies). Pizza Rev is like HEAVEN for someone with my variety loving, customize able tendencies. For $ 7.95 plus tax I can walk up to the counter and choose from oodles of fresh delicious toppings(as many as I want, at NO extra cost) to add to a wonderfully thin but generously sized(11″?) crust that then goes straight into a fired oven and comes out hot, melty, and perfectly crunchy in fewer than 5 minutes. Seriously, this is too good to be true. On my first visit I tried half BBQ /half organic red sauce, chorizo and bacon, mozzarella and blue cheese(why decide when you can have both?!) and added a bunch of veggies: sun dried tomatoes, red onion, green pepper, kalamata olives, fresh basil, and peppercinis. I’ve never had blue cheese on a pizza so can thank this place for making me think to try it. The end result was delicious and it was enough food that I shared and was lunch-full off of half of it. Thanks for a great experience, I will be back FORSURE.

OK, first things first, the pizza served at Pizzarev is not neapolitan pizza, so it is not fair to compare Pizzarev to the coveted Punch. It’s like comparing a Ford F150 to a Honda Civic. Yes, both are cars but they are two entirely different styles of cars. If you are in the market for a new truck, you aren’t going to head to your nearest Honda dealership and ask to test drive an Accord or Civic. Similarly, if you are in the mood for neapolitan pizza, you should head to Punch, not Pizzarev. Now that I have established that Pizzarev pizza does not equal Punch pizza, I’ll property rate Pizzarev for what it is, fantastic. I love the concept. The food was good. The service was friendly. And the portion size was just right. Five solid stars. I would weigh 700 pounds if Pizzaarev opened a location in London, UK. Pizzarev is basically the Chipotle of pizza restaurants. You start by ordering your crust, then the type of sauce, then your toppings, and then you pay. Your name is called a few minutes later, you raise your hand, and it’s delivered to your table. I mean, what more do you want or need? I ordered a customized pizza(as many toppings as you like for $ 7.95) with half pepperoni and half green pepper/fennel sausage. It was delicious. The amount of red sauce on it was perfect. The crust was thing and crispy and the toppings were flavorful. I topped it off with a soft drink from the futuristic soft drink dispenser. We don’t have soft drink dispensers in the UK(well we do but they are rare) and we certainly do not have ones that look and behave like a spaceship, so I had to call in my sister to explain how to use it. I don’t think such a sophisticated soft drink machine is necessary but I did enjoy my «tap» Coke. Would return time and time again.

I took my daughter here today after school. Pizza was a tad bit better than frozen pizza. The staff had the personalities of socks. No real reason to come back.

I tried this place for the first time the other day, and I must say, it was a pretty alright place. While the pizza itself was nothing out of this world, the concept was nice. For just under $ 8 you can get yourself an average sized small pizza. You have a choice of their regular crust, or a gluten free crust which costs $ 2 more. While I knew it was a thin crust, it ended up being a little thinner than I anticipated. Not a bad thing, per se. It just means you have to polish off the entire pizza to get full. After choosing the crust you have your choice of sauce, cheese, and toppings. They have a wonderfully extensive list of toppings you can choose, so you can make whatever type of pizza you’re craving. And the nice part? It’s a flat rate! No more paying per topping and ending up with a $ 20 pizza. You can get whatever you want on there, and it’s already included in the price. That’s the true appeal of this place. They also do have a couple tap beers, some wine, and a couple other individually-bottled alcoholic beverages if you’re looking for a drink with your meal. Otherwise, they have one of those neat new Coke machines where you pick the soda you want and you can pick a flavoring(orange Mello Yello is the way to go). There’s also a condiment bar that has crushed red peppers, Parmesan cheese, and a nice variety of hot sauces if you want to «rev up» your pizza. Ultimately, I think PizzaRev is a good place to go on a situational basis. If you want a super great pizza, go elsewhere. If you want pizza but you and the others you’re dining with can’t agree on which type of pizza you want, go here. You can each get your own and top it with whatever weird combinations of toppings your little hearts desire.

The voices in my head: Pizza Rev crust: 2 stars Everything else about Pizza Rev: 4 stars Crust is the foundation of a pizza, weighted accordingly… it’s 3 stars overall. I like Pizza Rev. I love options. I love a lack of upcharges for ingredients even more. Service was quick and easy. They do a nice job of explaining the process for first timers. The ingredients look fresh and taste good. The pizza comes out quick and has some good char grill goodness going on. There are red pepper flakes, parm and spices in shakers available(this is important). So yeah, lots of good. But the crust has been lacking. Cracker thin(good) but absent of taste and texture. I’m not expecting magic for $ 8 but am expecting more than what I’m getting. Bottom line: it’s still worth it and lightyears better than most«fast» food at the equivalent price. I will continue to drop by and hope the crust improves in time. Bonus: They have beer.

Pizzarev has a great concept. «Create and build your own». I like the quick-casual in and out ability and being able to select as many ingredients as you want. All for the same price($ 7.99). They offer an original thin and crispy crust or a gluten-free option for a few dollars extra($ 2). It reminds me a little of some of the other fast food restaurants like Subway which may be the problem for me. I tried the Mediterranean with a red sauce instead of white. My pizza came out of the oven fast(within minutes of ordering) but felt it could have been baked a little longer. The crust was soggy. Overall my pizza was ok but I just didn’t think it was anything special. I too prefer other pizza options like Punch. Pizzarev needs to step it up before I would make a another trip back.

The concept is personalized fast service pizza. After being greeted inside the door you step up and choose crust type/sauce/cheese and toppings. After a couple of minutes the pizza is served up. I was using a BOGO coupon they had mailed out so I went for two pizzas with red sauce and different topping combinations. I also got them to go, as that is one test of a pizza. By the time I was able to cross Hwy 7(which is always a pain) it was almost 10 minutes before I got the pizzas home. The edge of the crusts were still crisp but the interiors were limp and soggy. The sauce had a nice bite to it and there was an adequate amount of cheese on the pies. The spicy pepperoni would only be considered spicy if you only ate plain oatmeal. The canadian bacon was a better choice. Maybe if we had been eating in it might have been a better experience but as I mentioned part of the test was to see how they held up during the drive. I’ve done the same test with cracker thin crust pizzas from Chalet in Hopkins(which is even farther from home) and the crust there held up much better. In the personalized fast service pizza category I think I can say that Solo in Plymouth has a better concept but with work Rev could catch up. Some fresh herbs on the pizza when it comes out of the oven would help too.

WIth so many excellent pizza options around, it takes a lot to stand out from the crowd. In my estimation, PizzaRev is another option, but not one that stands out from the crowd(especially with Pizza Luce right down the road). After looking at the menu and pricing, I was skeptical that a single pizza would be enough for a meal, and I was right. At Luce I can buy two big slices for about the same as it costs for a pizza here, and it’s much more filling(although not customizable). Having a plethora of toppings and gluten free options is excellent, though the crust in both cases leaves a lot to be desired. I’m not entirely sure what Pizza Rev is going for with this crust. Thin is one thing, but almost non-existent is another. Luckily, the toppings were tasty, so the result is a decently tasty pizza with a crust barely thick enough to hold the weight of the toppings. The atmosphere and décor of the restaurant are unremarkable. I give BWW credit for bringing this option to MN and do believe this place is worth trying; however, I wasn’t wowed to the extent that I’ll become a regular like I am at Luce.

So far, so good. When I arrived ~7p last evening there were fewer than a dozen people ahead of me. The line moved quickly. I decided on a variation of their Mediterranean, original crust, white sauce, mozzarella, feta, garlic, mushrooms, capers and spinach. The za was perfectly done in minutes. I liked the crisp, flaky crust and the high quality ingredients blended well together. For the money, a good value. Not up to my gold standard of the Adriatico at Punch. But PizzaRev is a very credible alternative much closer to where I live. I’ll be back to try some different combinations. However, next time I’ll probably skip the uninspired side Caesar salad.

PizzaRev open for business! I’m a pizza addict. Neapolitan pizza is my favorite(which this is certainly not), but I am game for any new ‘pie shop. When I heard that the locally owned Buffalo Wild Wings had purchased a California pizza concept and was franchising it out nationally; I of course wanted on board. This is the first location outside of CA from what I gather. I came in at noon on opening day(Update — and 6pm too). To my surprise it wasn’t busy at all. About two dozen people were dressed in suits which I would assume meant either BWW corporate staff or local chamber of commerce individuals. Beyond that they had about 15 staff members dressed as such ready to make my custom pizza. The décor was nice, very Chipotle style(as is often compared to). My main issue upon walking in was the music volume. It was beyond obnoxious. I had trouble hearing the staff help me order, I had trouble talking to my friend I was with, and the bathroom was music was simply blaring as well. I enjoy extremely loud music at concerts/raves/inside my car; but at a lunch spot like this it was way overpowering. First day of business, so I hope this gets corrected soon.(Update — This was better my second visit +½ star) On to the pizza. They very prominently display the build your own pizza menu. I wasn’t even offered the preselected options by the staff, they assumed I wanted to build my own. This is a great idea, but easily leaves you open to screw up your own pizza. I would rather that they give you a few very inventive custom options to choose from then let you customize if desired. Instead it is the other way around here, relying on me to be creative(and successful) with my pizza building skills. Pizza to me is a cheese delivery system on perfectly wood fire baked bread. Unfortunately the crust is thin(my least favorite style), and the cheese didn’t stand out. For thin crust this is some of the best I’ve had, with some nice blackening of the crust, and good flavor. The toppings are all very good quality so if you are up to the task you can certainly make a good pie here. Overall, my experience was fair. I much prefer the fast casual pizza that you can also get locally at Punch Pizza. PizzaRev has a model that is very much a franchise model. They will do well since the pizza is priced well, tastes good, and it is a new fast casual concept. The main issue they will face in MSP is Punch Pizza, and nationally similar chains are popping up like CRAZY. I will likely be back here again, because as I said I love pizza and they do make an excellent thin crust here.
