The tachos are seriously the most delicious thing I’ve ever had. There’s beer cheese sauce on them, I wouldn’t change a thing! The buffalo chicken salad was lacking, the iceberg lettuce pieces were too large and they forgot the blue cheese crumbles on top of the salad. Service can be a little slow, but their burgers and apps are really good!

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Patio seating was nice but service was few and far between. That said, the food was definitely worth the wait. I had the Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was perfectly breaded and crunchy while the waffles were fluffy and chewy. Served with a side of forkable sausage gravy, this dish was to die for.

I live in Hopkins, so I eat here often. Most often, 819 is somewhat busy but during lunch/dinner time, you may have to wait a few minutes. The wait is worth it — 819 is a great spot! There are two patios which is a huge bonus — plenty of outside seating. The bar is massive — I’d guess they seat over thirty at the bar and there are plenty of TVs to catch a game. The food is consistent. I’ve tried most things on the menu. Fish tacos are amazing. Tachos are a diet killer but will knock off your socks. Thai peanut flatbread? Yes, please. There is an extensive selection of beers, cocktails, whiskey, etc. You won’t be thirsty. I’ve always enjoyed the staff. They’re great people and I’ve always had good service. Hopkins Pro Tip: There’s off street parking behind Pub 819 in the public parking lot, and an entrance in the back of 819.

One of our favorite places! The Red Wine burger is to die for. And the Tater Tots are sinfully good. But… EVERYTHING on the menu is good! We’ve eaten there at least 10 times in the last year, and every time has been delicious!

2nd time here. Sunday afternoon patio. Patio is small, tables close together. Electronic music is really loud even on a Sunday afternoon. I received the tiniest complimentary half glass of Mimosa for Mother’s Day I’ve ever seen. That was fine as it was mostly champagne, so I didn’t drink it. He had a Shirley Temple made twice, I think the 7up was out of syrup tho. We had Spring Rolls which were good, and a Margarita Flatbread that was not great. I think it’s too low on the mozzarella and the sauce tasted like spaghetti sauce. I had a Capresi Salad which was unexpected looking, but tasted good. I just needed a bit extra Balsamic. I would’ve like a bit more basil to taste. My partner had the Juicy Lucy which said was very good aside from the paper it was laid on. It’s such a messy burger, he ate it with a fork and knife and the juices from the burger melded with the paper underneath. The bun was delicious he said. Previously, he had the red wine burger that he also liked very much.

My husband and I were here on Monday for lunch. We were antique shopping and asked where to go for lunch. Winner! I had the brisket grilled cheese with coleslaw and my husband had the Turkey club. Both were excellent! I wish we lived closer so we could go again and again! Service was really good and attentive.

The spring rolls were great and so was our server Jason. Must try the Manhattan! Recommend the beer flights.

Okay, I admit it – I’m not a big beer guy. But this place is great, not just because of the beer selection, but because they have great food. The menu has a average-sized selection of items, but they vary from tradition pub fare(e.g. Shepher’s pie and Bangers & Mash) to Jucy Lucy’s, salads, and burgers. Everything I’ve had here is excellent whether for Happy Hour or for dinner. Service is excellent — always fast, efficient and friendly, with attentive service to keep those glasses full! Prices are comparable to competitors such as Jimmy’s, Crooked Pint(Chaska, Minneapolis, and Prior Lake), Tavern 4&5 and Jake’s in Eden Prairie. Parking is on the street — fortunately, there is plenty of it around, and there are also public lots behind the buildings along Mainstreet in downtown Hopkins.

Been here a few times. Waitress Anna was great. But quac should be more than half mashed avocado. Yes. Just avocado. Had to Dr it up with my taco fixings. Lame! Orders a High West Campfire as an after dinner treat. Not Campfire. Tastes like a generic bourbon. Again, LAME! Come on 819, get it together.

Went here for Easter brunch and I was extremely satisfied! Complimentary cinnamon rolls were bomb! My boyfriend got the stuffed French toast with strawberry cream cheese and it was incredible. We also got a side of sausage and I ordered the classic eggs Benedict which was perfect. Service was great too and so were the prices. This will definitely be our new brunch spot!

Great addition to Hopkins. First of all they have a great list of Bourbons, Whiskeys, and Ryes at decent prices. The house Manhattan is very nice, especially at $ 8. We split the Red Wine burger and the Dickel Burger. The red wine burger sounded weird but it surprised me. It is cooked in red wine and man it tasted great. The Dickel burger had nicely done onions in bourbon and balsamic. Good fries and non Heinz ketchup(usually a horrible thing for me but in this case it was good). Third time here and we will be back for sure.

We went on a busy Saturday night post movie in downtown Hopkins and had a very short wait. The staff was very friendly and everyone at the table enjoyed their meal choice, but I gotta say, my lamb shepherd’s pie was amazing! Great flavor, super sauce, nothing about the dish I would change! They have an extensive beer list and were happy to bring us samples to try. Not sure why some had problems, but guessing everyplace has their bad nights. We will go again – and I will have to force myself to explore the menu.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a good sandwich or burger. We stumbled upon this place thanks to Unilocal. We got here during happy hour, which is a pretty good menu. He had the Dickel burger, which had the most amazing glaze and I the brisket grill cheese, which brought back some adult like childhood memories. Then it comes to the service. It’s 4 pm on a Friday with half of the place full. Our waitress Catie, well she’s one of those run away ones. Ya know the ones that can’t stop long enough to get a question out before they are running away. She was sooo busy but there were 5 others just staring at us doing nothing. She gave us our check not even 5 minutes after receiving our food, which basically made us feel like we weren’t welcome for another round of beers. So thanks to the awful service on a less than busy Friday afternoon they receive a 2 star review… Had the service been different they may have scored a bit higher

A very bright and happy place, the total opposite of the vision of a pub I have in my head. Probably a bit pricier that the other spots on main and they don’t offer a separate lunch menu. The food was worth it though. I had the Angry Burger but I wasn’t angry about it at all, it was actually quite pleasant. The combo of sauteed jalapenos, onion, ghost pepper cheese, and spicy ketchup were enough to make my nose run, but not enough that I was chugging water after every bite. Had a beer, but really wanted to dabble in some of the whiskey’s they had on the menu. 7 Whiskey flights available?! Guess who will be back to check that out!

This is my new favorite part of Hopkins! My old favorite part of Hopkins was, you know, not going to Hopkins(I kid! I don’t actually understand why everyone hates Hopkins so much). Anywho. This place is as classy as a bar can be. It has a simple rustic charm, which I love! It’s all wood and stainless steel and chalkboard. Very trendy. They have a strict«meat and booze» focus, which a girl like me can really get down with. They have something in the neighborhood of three billion whiskey options, which might be slightly exaggerated. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend checking it out.

Meh, rib tips are overdone and portions are meager. Drunkin Burger is bland; it was supposed to be stuffed with blue cheese and glazed with a Guiness sauce. No blue cheese to be found & Guiness sauce was cheese whiz. Onion rings were completely tasteless. Overall one of the worst meals I’ve had. A corporate restaurant trying to pass off as a neighborhood place. Whiskey list is fab. Too bad the food and service are subpar.

In short: solid beer selection and above average bar food. It’s a little expensive, but I felt like we got quality for the price. I enjoyed my Drunkin’ Lucy. My wife liked her black bean veggie burger a lot, but would have enjoyed a little sear. Kids ate their simple kids burger and chicken strips without complaint. Also, like the décor. I’m probably the target audience for this style, to be honest. Only real distraction was a couple more flies than normal. Then again for late summer, almost can’t be helped. I would go to Pub 819 again without hesitation.

Very good. I came in here specifically to get the donut breakfast sandwich. Service was good, but a little confusing. The sandwich was AMAZING if you are into that sort of thing. I got it with ham instead of bacon or sausage, and it also had cheese, hash browns, and a scrambled egg, all on a maple donut from Yoyo Donuts. Came with a side of fruit, because health. I put sriracha on the breakfast sandwich and was in heaven. Don’t say it’s weird. Just trust me. You need this.

I’ve been here twice this week once for dinner and today for lunch. Both times I’ve been impressed with the food and happy with the service. The first time we walked in on a Friday and hit it perfectly and was able to get a seat at a booth right as the happy hour crowd was starting to wind down. We tried the fried cheese curds with spicy ketchup(yum) to start and each had one of the specialty burgers for our main course. They were ample servings, juicy and full of flavor. I also sampled one of their many whiskey drinks, an Old Fashioned, and have to say it was prepared perfectly(and I’m from Wisconsin where we take that drink VERY seriously) — definitely recommend trying one. It’s so unexpected to find a place like this in «downtown» Hopkins but we like the location although parking can be a bit tricky if you want to park right in front like most Minnesotans. Definitely recommended.

We stopped in with some friends the other night for a post-dinner drink, and I have to say that I was pretty surprised(in a good way). This is a pretty trendy spot for downtown Hopkins. The interior is very appealing and it is a really comfortable place to hang out. The booths are huge and comfy, and I could have easily seen us hanging there and closing the place out. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened. Issue one: Since we didn’t eat a full meal there, I can’t say much about the entrée type food. But we did get the cheese curds(which were pretty standard) and the Tachos, which are tater tot nachos. That’s a totally awesome concept(so much so that I would order an $ 8 plate of tater tots). The execution was pretty good, though I swear to God the menu said there was bacon on those things, and there definitely was not any bacon on our actual dish. In fact, our friend who’s a vegetarian felt so confident there was no bacon on the plate that he ate some. Hmmmm… it’s a bad thing to promise bacon on anything and then not deliver. Issue two: Beer-wise, the selection was decent, though I was super über bummed when our waitress came back to our table to report that they were out of the one beer that three out of the five of us had ordered from the tap menu(Indeed’s Mexican Honey). It’s always unnerving to me when restaurants don’t keep their beer menus up to date. I would rather have a chalkboard that can be updated in an instant than get my heart set on a beer only to be told they are out of it. It was so bad that one of my two friends who also ordered a Mexican Honey wound up just ordering a water and skipping the drink all together. Issue three: Service. First we had confusion… two different people thought they were serving our group. Once we got that figured out, our server seemed disappointed to learn we were not eating a full meal, and I honestly think that when she saw her chance at a $ 100+ tab disappear, we got a lot less attention. Refills on water were difficult. She didn’t even really try to sell us a second round. And she didn’t even offer to split our check, which then resulted in us having to tell her how to divide it three ways. When she brought the three separate credit card receipts back, she only brought one pen. And(super pet peeve) she came back and collected the signed receipts before we’d vacated the table. If she was anxious to see what her tip was like, it wasn’t great. There’s a lot of potential here, and I’d give it another try. The atmosphere, menu, beer list, whiskey selection and even things like the bathroom décor are all great. Maybe they had an off-night. I can’t really say. But for now three stars with room to improve.
