Bar Louie

Our first time to Bar Louie, my mom and I waited over an hour for our food. Today, we decided to give them a second chance. What a mistake. The white bean chili had gravy-​ish broth, white beans, parsley, and a sad sprinkle of cheese. It was not good. The burger was obviously made from a frozen patty, and smelled old. It also had a lingering and very unpleasant aftertaste. Two stars because the server was nice and took the chili off our bill (otherwise this would just be one star). We won’t be returning.

Spent 160 $ for dinner and it was horrible when I called back to let them know about our dining experience and the manager told us to fuck off. I’m appalled. Never will be dining there again.

The service was absolutely terrible last night. The music was blarningly loud and the place was empty. I asked to have it lowered and the bar tender (posing as a manager) said to me that the volume was in line with some fake standard and they have to keep it this loud in case their VP walked in. Highly unlikely at 11 at night. Also, the waiter took my plate away from me before I was even done eating. I said something to him and he just laught

Keep walking to any other restaurant in the mall! When you walk in to a restaurant you are usually greeted by someone… Not here! The service was terrible, they were honestly just not interested? We had to ask to order a drink… Twice at the bar! I don’t know call me crazy, but when you belly up to the bar I’m sure most people are looking for a drink? I know they saw us, looked right at us, but they were deep in conversation and ignored us. Why we didn’t leave is beyond me! The salad we ordered was watery, blah, and over priced for iceberg lettuce. There are many new options at Ridgedale, and by far they will be your best bet! I will never bother to stop here again!

I went to Bar Louie Ridgedale again recently to attend a friend’s birthday party of about 15 people on a Friday night. Once again, service was lackluster. I went to the bar to wait for everyone else to arrive. I sat for over 5 minutes with several bartenders walking by before someone asked if I wanted a drink.
Once I moved to the table to join the party, the table service was terrible. I think the server knew he was getting mandatory gratuity and didn’t seem to care to provide decent service. The guy didn’t have a terrible personality but would literally disappear for over 10 minutes at a time. It was a joke. We would want to order a drink or food and just sit there until we were able to flag him down to place the order. We eventually just started ordering from the bar. This was a reserved table for a large group, the waiter should have been giving us more attention.
As I mentioned in my previous review, management seems to be lacking. However, don’t lump this Bar Louie location in with the Uptown location which actually has good service. The food isn’t bad, it’s actually decent but I’ve experienced way too much inconsistent and downright terrible service to recommend this location. Go across the sidewalk to Big Bowl or across the parking lot to Champps for a better experience.

Food is good but portions are small. Ordered fish, got 3 small pieces and a bed of fries. Calimari, looks bog bit 90% is lettuce. Not sure I’ll come back. 15 for fish and 11 Calimari. Little expensive .not great bang for the buck :-(

I’ve ordered take out from this location about 4 times and I’ve noticed that they «run out» of to-​go boxes and stuff my salad or burger into a small box. If I do happen to order something and they haven’t ran out of to-​go boxes, the order is messed up. Their fries are the only reason I’ll consider going back.

Love Bar Louie happy hour with 5.00 wine! The service was amazing tonight. Had the Southwest turkey burger, which was delicious. Potstickers for the app. Love this restaurant to just drop in. The waitstaff is always accommodating and very friendly. We will be back.

We came here for the free Martinis and Appetizers shebang they had last weekend. As soon as we walked in, I wanted to love this restaurant so badly. It’s BEAUTIFUL. It’s sleek and trendy and I wanted that to become one of our regular places.
And then things went downhill fast. Our server seated us quickly. Apparently too quickly because she seated us in the wrong section and another server started yelling at her in front of us. Oops.
Another server in the background, trekking back and forth with various handfuls of martinis and empty glasses, was heard on multiple occasions, muttering under his breath about all the «cheap a-​holes» out on the patio.
The martinis weren’t great, but I don’t super-​love martinis so I’m not a very good judge. Half of the appetizers were 86ed. We got a flatbread and some potstickers …40 minutes after we ordered them.
And let’s not forget about my martini that came garnished with someone else’s lipstick! Just sad.
In as polite phraseology as I can muster, it was a shitshow.

Had such a great night here until the bar closed prematurely and the management basically kicked my friends and I out before our sober ride arrived and was insinuating that we should wait outside for our ride (three intoxicated young women). Meanwhile, other guests that the staff must know hung or at the bar carefree. So upsetting after having a wonderful waiter and fun night. Rude as hell.

Just left this place pissed off. It was busy but it does not explain why the table right next to us got their order 20 minutes before us, when we ordered before them. We ordered chicken nachos and chicken quesadilla which were the exact same things the other table ordered. It took over 40 mins to get to our meal to the table. They were done eating by the time we got the same exact meal. I had the manager come over to explain the situation and he was an ass. He didn’t even apologize about the situation. The server was more pleasant and more apologetic than the manager. Will never go to his place over again at any location.

Been there a few times, usually a regrettable decision. Decided to give it another shot on a whim. Drove out there for $ 5 burger night, 5-​close, which is 2a.m. Got there at midnight, doors were locked, saw two customers on the patio, chairs up on tables, employees cleaning. Thanks for wasting my time and money.

I went here for Burger Night on Tuesday, and this is the best deal! All burgers are $ 5 with tots or fries, or any extras for $ 1 more! My boyfriend and I had the Chicago Stockyard with tots and a side of Mac & cheese, and I also tried the Blue Louie. Everything was delicious noms.
The location is hooked right into the Ridgedale Mall. We sat outside and I had a nice view of the sunset while we were eating. Our server’s name was Maddy, and she was super sweet and helpful! All employees were very accommodating and nice! We will definitely be back, especially for more burger nights! Best date night & best deal evaaaa.

Great service, nice décor, food not that great. Overpriced. My kid loved her kids meal with a free sundae.

Meh… or so the Unilocal stars go. I was at the nearby Sheraton for work, and the mall restaurants were pretty much the only choices for dinner. Bar Louie was pretty much the only choice for sit down options… unless you wanted sushi… in the suburbs of Minneapolis, which I didn’t — so Bar Louie it was.
I had a hankering for a burger and ended up settling on a blue cheese burger. It wasn’t bad — it just didn’t really hit the spot. Also, burger whining time — why do places like this ask how you want your burger, and then not even come close? I asked for medium, and it was definitely well-​done. Le sigh.
Anyway, I thought the service was fine and the drinks were cold, but the food just didn’t hit the spot this time.

The quality of the avocado was good, the chips were stale, and the guacamole tasted like it was not freshly made. I could be wrong, but it seemed like a store bought guac with a few things added.
First of all, we asked for chips and guac. Our lovely waitress brought us the chips and dip trio. Unfortunately the chips were stale, the queso was unremarkable, and the salsa was bland. The guacamole was too weak to save the dish. Some cilantro rested on the chips instead of in the guac, and there were no onions or garlic to spice it up. The peppers in the guac were a nice touch, but not enough to impress me.
Definitely avoid this place unless you enjoy a bland atmosphere, but then again, it is in a mall. The rest of the food was decent, albeit bland.

I’ve been to this Bar Louie location twice now, Veteran’s Day this year and last as they offer a free entrée ($ 12 off the bill) to past and present service members.
The service could use a little work. Both times I’ve walked in there have been groups of people awkwardly standing in the doorway unsure whether anyone would be coming back to the host stand or if we should proceed to seat ourselves. Our server didn’t say more than a few words to us and started walking away before he’d taken the entire party’s order, we had to ask for refills on water, etc.
Overall, I love the food & beer selection here and they have pretty great specials during the week. We came in on $ 5 burger Tuesday and while the burgers were nothing to write home about, they were good.

I was expecting really average bar food from Bar Louie, but what I got (chicken parm sliders) was really good. My friend really enjoys their salads, although I cannot speak to them myself.
We went for an early lunch, and the place was pretty empty, but it took about 20 minutes to get noticed. Other than that, pretty good.
