I’ve been to this location twice. First visit my salad was included with my meal and the waitress served it before the meal, just like any other normal restaurant. My dining partner ordered a small side salad that was served before the meal. Guess what? When we got the bill we discovered she was charged $ 9 for the salad bar — not a small side salad — in addition to her entre. Really? Waitress did not tell us that. Salad bar was included with my meal, too. However we were never told we could help ourselves to the salad bar. And it was nowhere on the menu. Trip 2 — pretty much the same thing. We all ordered dinners that included salads. There were only a few other patrons in the restaurant. Our meal arrived after a long wait of 45 minutes and I asked«aren’t these supposed to come with salad?» to which the waitress glibly replied«yes — use the salad bar». OK. Nobody told us. Was not written like that on the menu. So we had the choice of rushing to the salad bar and gulping down a salad while the hot platters got cold, or skipping the salad bar. I tried a few salad selections. Calamari was tasteless and rubbery/chewy. Had to peel the shrimp. I HATE u-peel-em shrimp. It means the kitchen is too lazy to do it. There was no fancy lettuce remaining. Dinner was so-so. Overpriced for what we got. Trip 2 is the LASTTRIP to this restaurant for me. I gave them 2 chances to get it right. A

Very very average diner and way over priced. Got the crab cakes and they were just fried mush. Absolutely terrible. Our waitress was more interested in talking to regulars and the staff then helping us. Everyone that works here seems lazy and sourly. Very disappointed in this place. Got the strawberry short cake for dessert. It was old, dry and bland. This place is making me more angry the longer I stay in it

Never had a bad meal here! Avoid coming on the weekends for breakfast Looooong wait unless you have a party of 5 or more. The staff is very friendly, food is reasonably priced and cooked well.

This place is cool!! My friend and I went here to eat after a bar on a weekday early morning late night breeze!!! To our surprise there was no one here!! Not a soul, seems strange right??? Anyway the settings here are outdated it reminds you of the 70’s. The waitress was a very nice middle aged lady. I felted a little rushed when she asked for our orders but, we continued to make the time go. I went to the bathroom and when I came out our food was already on the table. Yes, that’s right, it only took 10 minutes and I am saying this at the most for our food to come out!!! The food was good, it was hot, it actually taste like something. I will be back soon!!!

I tend to view Lancers as a slightly above average diner(for reference purposes, I view The Great American in Langhorne as below average and the Edison Diner as above average.) I can’t complain so much, the food is decent enough in the late hours. Sometimes things come about a bit funky but not too often. I’m not expecting the highest end burger but a burger at least better quality than Wendy’s. They tend to deliver on this. Staff, I’ve gotten perky waitresses and some who must have been called in on short notice due to a call out. It’s the lower end of the restaurant world, it’s not El Bulli. In this aspect because most of the time the food I get is served hot, fresh and of decent enough quality they earn some reliability points. I give it four stars, certainly at other times of the day there are other restaurants open that I would go to — but at 2am… unless I feel like driving an hour to Edison, they are a safe enough choice. It would be kind of cool if diners got into the service of delivering food at 2am. Then again I guess I can see my HOA going bananas over that concept. Silly people and their morning hours…

We go here as a family almost every single weekend. The place is always super packed, but it’s worth the wait. It’s nothing spectacular or out-of-this world, it’s just a really great diner. Your meals come out super fast even on a super busy Sunday and they always stay on top of keeping your coffee full. The best part is they give the kids FREE homemade sugar cookies in little baggies when your leaving. What a nice touch? If it’s too packed, we go down the road to Red Lion, but I’m never as satisfied with that place as I always am at Lancers.

Standard diner. Maybe a standard plus. Would come back if nearby. Service good. Bacon wasn’t bad… glad I had the pancakes instead of the home fries!

Love this place! The food is fresh and the staff is super friendly. We really liked our server Jamie. She brought us a sample of something we’ve never heard of before. She has a great personality and a contagious laugh! We will be back.

I could tell the corned beef came from a can of Libby’s. I should’ve just cooked my breakfast in my kitchen. The senior citizen cashier explained, «that’s not a cupcake, that’s cheesecake ‚» in a tone that was a tad incredulous as to how I could mistake cream cheese as cupcake. If the pastries are unlabeled and cheesecake is presented in cupcake form you could see why I would mistake it for a cupcake. The diner had a cold 1970s feel. Kind of a sad atmosphere. The waitress was nice though, which was the only good thing about the dining experience.

We tried the fried flounder, chicken alphabet soup, salad bar, corned beef hash, and pancakes for our first experience. The salad bar and quinoa feta salad were excellent, and the hash and pancakes were exceptional. However, the fried flounder was so over-cooked it was dark brown, too hard to be edible, and lacked any seasoning whatsoever, while being very greasy. We returned two days later for breakfast again, and everything was very good. I would NOT recommend getting anything fried, but everything else we have eaten has been very good. One of the better diners in the area.

I was in the area over the weekend and like to try local spots. This one was worth coming back for dinner the next night. The meals come with soup, salad bar(with shrimp!) and large portions of your entrée. I couldn’t finish dinner the second night, so I took a piece of cake with me and enjoyed it later. In a sea of chain restaurants on this strip, this is worth a stop. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll try breakfast

I’ve passed this diner on so many occasions during the past year and always noted the full parking lot. Finally had a chance to have breakfast here recently, and it was worth the 20 minute wait to be seated. Our sever was SO friendly, and probably one of the best servers I’ve had in a long time. Her demeanor was awesome, it made me want to be her friend! She kept our glasses full and checked on us without being intrusive. Note, all the tables are cramped for some reason, especially those 2 person booths… smallest ever. My bacon omelette was alil runny, I’m cool with that, but some may not be. I chalked it up to the cook being«french» and made me a semi-runny omelette. Lots of bacon, which was good, which probably was why the omelette turned out on the runny side/got into the nooks of the bacon and didn’t get cooked long enough. I got a side of sweet potato fries instead of home fries(I’m forsaking regular potatoes these days) and they were only okay and not cooked long enough unfortunately. BF reported that his ham and cheese omelette was good. It had a really ample amount of diced ham and lots of american cheese, and was not«french» style.(haha) — so I chalk mine up to the bacon nooks. The bakery counter looks AMAZING. The cakes, and pastries… omg, I wish I indulged but this new year weight loss hype has me behaving. The salad bar was packed with options other than green salad, it had a whole bunch of other«sides» — looked great. I’d like to return for dinner, I’m a sucker for chicken croquettes and the pic I saw def. has me wanting to return when I need some comfort food(Or, when I fall off the weight loss wagon, lol) What keeps it from more stars is the«french» omelette. Some faint of heart might be grossed out by some raw/undercooked egg. The sweet potato fries were under cooked. The unsweetened ice tea had a very weird after taste. The employees, while seemingly happy around the customers… I don’t think were happy with management? Or maybe it was a bad day… or just overwhelmed… but they did quite a bit of muttering under their breath to each other — something I wish I didn’t hear. All in all though, a solid choice with easy parking and entrance and exit.

Lancers Diner is one of my favorite diners around !!! I have NEVER been disappointed by their service or food. I especially love their specialty Lacas coffee — a different flavor is featured each month. Along with the great food and service, Lancers is extremely clean, which often is an issue with other diners !! I highly recommend that you request Samantha for your server! She is so personable and welcoming! I was so impressed that she actually remembered waiting on my son and me, which was a while back! The only request I have for Lancers is that they add turkey bacon to the menu !

Our waitress was Janice and she’s fantastic. The food was good and hot although they need a new bread for white toast. Love the décor, nice and relaxed. Clean and open atmosphere, great restaurant.

I love this place ! I probably come here once a week! Usually I stick to the salads they provide because they always are huge and so flavorful but the menu is just right with a variety of breakfast lunch and dinner items! The service is great with friendly servers(they all know what I love to order) ! I will always come here when I need fast food that fills my stomach and tastes great !

Just enjoyed a nice brunch with my wife at Lancers. Just about every time we go(about 4, 5 times a year, for the past 15 years), we have the bagel & lox platter. Reading the reviews of my co-yelpers, I’ve learned that Lancers has an exceptional French Onion soup. I did not know that! It’s on my list for next time. Lancers is one of this area’s great businesses. It’s been here for decades. In the early years of dating my wife, we’d love to sit in a booth by one of the front windows. Occasionally we’d be treated to a Navy jet landing or taking off from the Willow Grove NAS, just across the street. Now we like sitting in the side room, to the right of the register — out of the sun. I’ve never had a complaint about the food, or the service. Everyone is very nice. We try to be as generous as possible with the tip. The waitresses have always been as hospitable as any other place. Why should they be penalized because the food costs considerably less? About the food — you get a generous portion for a reasonable price. The portion served is easily manageable by a normal appetite. Unlike a certain other diner a little further down the road, where they bring you a lot of food– but it’s bland and unedible even at the table, much less the leftovers at home. That diner can’t hold a candle to the legendary Lancers. Giving Lancers Diner 4 out of 5 stars — but only because you can’t watch the Warthogs taking off anymore. But that’s not Lancers fault. Stupid penny-pinching Navy!

This is one of my favorite diners in the area. They are 24⁄7 which is convenient for my work schedule. I love their French onion soup and the salad bar has grape leaves and bread pudding which are a few of my favorite foods. They serve breakfast all the time and have a more limited menu overnight, but still a great selection of food. The servers are very nice and they have plenty of parking. I used to come here with my dad when he would get off work at the Willow Grove Naval Air Base(15+ years ago) so it will always have a special place in my heart!

Here in the same location since 1942, and with good reason. This is a first-class diner restaurant, and while some of the detractors on here obviously expect too much from a DINER, it’s got a solid reputation of able service, good food.(WHO comes to a diner for snapper soup? Really??) Diners are made or broken on their quick service, decent execution of typical«diner food»(Breakfast, burgers, and various regional favorites for dinner). Lancers pulls it off exceptionally well, almost always. My favorite which I had again today was a petite order of chicken croquettes(2), on mashed potatos. It came with 2 side vegetables, a cup of soup, a drink, and the salad bar. WHO could beat all that for $ 11.12? WHO? Anyone who expects 5-star froufy French cuisine from a diner will be less than impressed but they’re obviously not familiar with diner food. As a road-side quick eats and friendly atmosphere destination, Lancers is among the best in all of Pennsylvania. That’s the reason they’ve been here for 70+ years. Anyone finding fault obviously is having a bad day or a caustic critic. 5-stars, from me.
