Had lunch here today with a coworker. We both ordered the fried shrimp Platter. The service was fast; however, the food was less than desirable. The platter(for nearly $ 12 bucks) boasted a handful of soggy fries and approximately 6 shrimp. The batter was falling off the shrimp and just barely cooked. This was my very first time visiting the restaurant so I have no other experience to compare it to.

Probably the best Fried Chicken I have had besides my grandmother fried chicken when I was a kid. This place only does the fried chicken on Saturday’s. It’s made to order so expect to wait 15 – 20 mins but don’t worry it’s definitely worth the wait. The warmed spinach dip, duck strips, onion rings and cheese sticks are all good appetizers. Then to cap it of taste there homemade blackberry cobbler. Great Cajun and home style meals. Super friendly staff.

I was down in Louisiana this past Christmas to meet my FH’s giant horde of a family.(No really, at one point there were 60+ people in one house to celebrate… and this only represented only his father’s side of the family). Pure craziness, but I digress. Needless to say this trip was pretty much a surreal experience for me. I’m a Kentucky girl and the idea of being in place warm enough to wear shorts for the holiday was a bit unnerving. However, it did enable us to have a delightful experience at Bilello’s Café in Houma. Our party consisted of seven people including my future niece and nephew and while the niece is old enough to enjoy dining without causing a ruckus the nephew is still at that tender age when dining experiences could range from an enjoyable time to utter disaster. Since it was so warm out, we inquired if we would be able to sit out on the patio looking over Bayou Terrebonne, I believe. The waitress was very accommodating and set up two tables just for us outside. We were a bit worried because this meant we were the only ones outside; however, service was still prompt and my future nephew was able to be entertained by turtle sunning itself on a slow moving log for most of our lunch. We ordered two sets of fried duck sticks for the table as well as onion rings while we enjoyed the sun and gentle breeze. The main courses came which were fried catfish for my fiancé and eggplant parmesan for myself — both of which were tasty in their own right. However, the star of the show for this meal was my future nephew. We had ordered him a plate of butter noodles(again, at that age when one is happy to see him consume anything). For him the table was bit too far away, so during the course of the meal he had slowly accumulated a pile of buttered noodles under him. We were amazed by how much he had ‘eaten’ by looking at his plate only to discover his secret stash underneath the table as we left. We all had a good laugh and were thankful the mess was outside rather than inside the restaurant. 4 stars for a great dining experience and friendly service.
