Overall not bad. Doesn’t quite live up to the 4 – 5 ratings of others. Has some oysters on half shell. Excellent and fresh. Had the shrimp boil– avg at best. None of the sides were boiled with the shrimp. The shrimp also did not come directly out of the boils. Luke warm at best. Still good flavor and spice just left a few things to desire.

It might be the«best» in Houma, but that’s not saying much since Houma barely has anything to compare it to. The food is so inconsistent. The gumbo tasted like water with salt added to it. How do you mess up on gumbo in the south?!! I just don’t get it. The seafood doesn’t taste fresh half of the time. It’s like they just keep reheating it up until they sell it all. I gave this place plenty of tries, but I don’t think I will be returning.

I’m from out of state, however, this place was recommended twice to us. So, I’m happy to say we gave it a try. It was fabulous! The raw oysters were ice col, reasonably priced, and overall delicious. A variety of items on the menu and the portion sizes were huge. I think we could have basically split a plate and have more than enough to eat. I don’t think you will be disappointed if you give Nancy’s a try!

This is the BEST seafood restaurant in Houma in my opinion. The crawfish and shrimp are perfectly made so it is worth every dollar you spend. When I have visitors from out of town, this is the place where I take them. Nancy’s definitely represents true Louisiana seafood.

Among the best seafood restaurants in Houma — if not *the* best. It certainly one-ups Big Al’s.

I went there for a late lunch and sat at the bar. The beer was cold and served very quickly. The wait staff were all cheerful and helpful, the fried shrimp were excellent. I’ll definitely be back next time i’m on that side of the tunnel.

Started with the raw oysters, they were awesome! Shucked well with no bits shell in them, cocktail sauce was very tasty. Next came the boiled crawfish, they were very full and seasoned perfectly(as if I had boiled them myself in my backyard) unlike the other«Big» restaurant across town(we had their crawfish the previous day. Our daughter had the corn dog bites and fries and they were tasty and fried well without being greasy — she approved by eating most of it. The service was outstanding! Our server, Blair, was very sweet and attentive leaving us to want for nothing even though the place was packed. She never made it feel like we were bothering her even though she was very busy and she took her time while table side with us to ensure we were taken care of. Do yourself a solid when in Houma, take a short trip through the tunnel to the East Side for seafood, you won’t be disappointed — Nancy’s will be my go to seafood restaurant when in Houma!

I’ve been here a couple of times and to me it’s just average. The service was not great. I feel we had to wait to get served. Upon entering, several people walked by without acknowledging that we were waiting to be seated. I did enjoy the softshell crab and the fact that we were able to substitute on the platter.

The seafood tasted good, but on the greasy side. The fries were cold.

Basic without being boring. Nancy’s seasons everything just right, doesn’t overwhelm and doesn’t lack. The staff is first rate. Ask for Nikki, the representation of Southern Hospitality. Everyone greets you with a smile. Hands down the best experience in dinning in a long time. This place has it all, great food, great staff, and the line out the door before noon proves it’s 100% worth the wait.

I came here for lunch one day while I was in Houma for work. I had the half oyster, half shrimp plate, with onion rings. Everything was cooked and seasoned very well, as is expected from Nancy’s. The service was good and the people were friendly. Our food came out pretty quickly and was freshly cooked. All in all, a typical Nancy’s meal.

I was hoping to get some good Cajun seafood while in Houma and Nancy’s had good reviews. Since I didn’t want anything fried, I went with one of their ‘boilers’. There was the choice between blue crabs, crawfish, shrimp and snow crab. I asked the waitress if the blue crab was good, and she said, «Yeah, they’re ok.» Since this didn’t give me much confidence, I asked if the snow crab or shrimp was good. I didn’t want crawfish. She said I could get the snow crab and shrimp, so I went that route, The snow crab was ok. The shrimp were overlooked and somewhat cold. The sausage was ok, and the corn was cold and mushy. The highlight of the meal was the potatoes. There was a good amount of food for $ 26.95; however, it just wasn’t very good. In southern Louisiana, it should be MUCH better than that. Very disappointing. I only ate about a third of the shrimp, because they weren’t even worth peeling, Originally, I was planning to get the bread pudding for desert, but after the main course, I had zero confidence that it would be good. Since I love good bread pudding, it wasn’t worth taking the chance of another disappointment, I suppose it could have been a bad mighty; however, with so many things wrong on the menu, I doubt it.

Nancy’s is a little Cajun treasure! I’m originally from Louisiana but live in Texas and miss authentic Louisiana cooking. I visited Nancy’s twice and it’s nothing short of fantastic. The gumbo, boiled shrimp and crawfish, crabs, and catfish are all a taste of Louisiana Heaven. The wait staff always friendly. Thanks Nancy’s! Looking forward to another visit soon!

I thought it was OK, kind of average really. I had the seafood platter. The gumbo was not too impressive. The crab and shrimp were good, the oysters and catfish were a bit dry and lacking in flavor. The staff was exceptionally nice and friendly here.

OMGOSH! The most wonderful selection of Blessings from the Bayou and then put on a platter restaurant. From the Chargrilled Oysters to the Shack Platter everything was delicious, fresh and bountiful. I couldn’t believe the price for the amount of food we were given. The Service was wonderful and we will definitely be back when we are in the Houma area. A gem of a place worthy of the #1 Spot on Unilocal

This is my go-to restaurant based on the location and quality of food and service! My dad loves the boiled shrimp, and I usually get shrimp on bun or a tuna steak. Great flavor and pricing !

Probably the best seafood place in Houma. The service has been pretty fast every time. Can get a little crowded in there at times, but it’s expected.

This is local place I would have never noticed without it being suggested. I had the Crab Sandwich dressed with lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The crab was nicely seasoned and a generous portion. Three of us split an order of onion rings and no one left hungry. Our server was fantastic and kept our beverages full.
