Horrible food and service, I have been going to this place for last 10 yrs, tonite food had different taste and service was not good.
Not going back and drive all the way from south side.

I have been here a few times and everytime the food is really good. The lunch menu is on point! I will reserve the private room for business workshops and conferences.

Food is usually good but last time I was there; last week; the checkout girl had «trouble» with the credit card machine. She ran my card 4 times. And guess what? They all showed up on my statement even though I only signed once. And get this; the manager finished the transaction for her. So I am very suspect now.
Yes food is usually tasty but their prices are high.

Im not a real lover of Chinese food, but this is usually the place that friends who do love Chinese food go. The people are very nice and always give our group a private room (probably as much for other patrons as for us as we tend to laugh alot). The lunch prices are real good for entrée, rice and choice of soup or eggroll. I had the sesame chicken. It had a real sweet thick sauce over fried chicken pieces so I imagine it was full of calories, but it was tasty – and enough for another lunch. The waiters are usually always quick and attentive so I wont mention the poor service we got yesterday. I will complain that the fortune from my fortune cookie made absolutely no sense. Who writes these?

Excellent food, lots of varieties and choices and they always accommodate low sodium requests without an issue. Veggie friend rice is delish.
888 also has diet choices, dishes that are steamed with the sauces on the side which is
a really big plus if guests you are with are watching what they eat.
They could update their chairs, they are a little old and some a little uneven which makes for a not so comfy visit on occasion.

I have been to a few 888 locations. This one is pretty on the inside. I like that they have veggie options and tofu I got the sautéed veggies but with garlic sauce. Decent cheap lunch spot and consistent food in every location. I m not wowed but I left pleased with lunch.

I placed an order online at 8:22PM cause the website claimed this place closes at 11:00PM. Unfortunately after an hour and 45 minutes after I finally decided to call and check on my order; turns out they had closed around 4PM the same day. They did not had a pre-​recorded message on their phone line stating they were closed.
What a waste of time and now I have to clarify with my bank about the charges for this transaction.

Always a good place to go to get quality Chinese food.
I tend to order off of the «authentic menu» which you have to ask for. If you want American Chinese food, they do that well too.
Nothing beats an order of orange chicken when you get off work at 10pm.

I ordered the #1 lunch special — sauteed mixed vegetables, but asked them to make it with spicy garlic sauce. They accommodated with no problem, and it was quite good. It had asparagus, green beans, snow peas, and broccoli, and was served with fried rice. My friend ordered the General Tso Bean Curd from the vegetarian menu, and it was also surprisingly good. The tofu was crisp on the outside and firm on the inside, and the sauce was flavorful, sweet and a little bit smoky. It was a very similar taste to General Tso Chicken, but in a vegetarian version.
Overall — great food and good service. I would go back. Recommended.

Well, I came in for a to-​go order. I asked for some
Hot mustard on a $ 45 dollar order and I received one small hot mustard. It was the size of a ketchup packet. I know its a small thing to ask for so im confused as to why they are so cheap. They sure don’t mind increasing the prices on the food. Especially when they have reviews about the restaurant with «cheap eats» as a headline.

I used to eat 888 Bistro on a regular basis, like 2 – 3 times per week sometimes. Over time though, the quality and flavor became inconsistent and portions of meat were smaller on average (still get lucky sometimes).
The thing that finally made me stop coming here altogether was the fact that their food was starting to give me diarrhea and acid reflux, every time. I do not have digestive issues, nothing has changed in my health, and I don’t have this problem with other restaurants. I stopped eating here for a few months, came back… same thing.
I really miss the «old» 888 Bistro that had good food that didn’t make me sick.

Ordered delivery for my family in the afternoon. Left to go to work. When i returned i heard that part of my order was not delivered. The next day i called to tell them they forgot part of my order yesterday. The «manager» took my information, did some research, and then asked about the item that was forgotten. After telling him, he asked what i wanted to do. I said, could you just note my account (i order delivery from this place frequently and have at least twice a month since they opened), and not charge me for it when i order it next time. The manager said, «that’s fine, but next time, if something’s missing, make sure you call back that same day, or they may not honor the issue».
Is it my fault the delivery person, or whomever put my order together, did not completely provide everything that i paid for???
That is an unacceptable request from the Manager of the store. They can keep my money. I will no longer be ordering from this place ever again. That is terrible customer service, and a disappointment.
It’s sad because their food is actually quite above par. Too bad. Poor management will cause loss of customers.

Great service. Smoked duck appetizer was tender and moist with crispy skin, perfectly seasoned. Order this, you won’t regret it. The hot and sour soup was neither, but it was hearty and fresh. Add a few drops of the chile paste that’s on the table and you’re golden. Mango Chicken was sort of like a sweet and sour sauce, but not as sweet and very mango-​y and garlicky, lots of veggies and mango chunks. Good. A little sweet for my taste, but did have a good depth of flavor and many notes. Chicken is stir fried, not batter fried. Shredded Sichuan Beef was OK, not anything special. A little spicy, but not much. The sauce was one note and a little salty. I wouldn’t order it again. Choice of white, brown, or fried rice (I appreciated the brown rice option). Attractive rooms. Would recommend it if you are in the NASA area. Lunch specials are a good value.

Listen, Im from Yunnan, a province very close to Sichuan, and I have lived in NYC for 4 years, but I’ve never been to a Sichuan cuisine in America that came close to the real thing. This restaurant is the real gem, with real spices, flavors, and atmosphere! The price is surprisingly low, when my dad saw the receipt he thought the waitress charged us wrong, but it is that cheap. If I could give 7 stars I would do it without doubts. If you wanna know what is Sichuan cuisine and truly understand Chinese spicy, you have to come here.

Favorite Chinese restaurant. Their sizzling plate with beef is my favorite dish. It’s soooo tasty. Hot and sour soup with the fried noodles is the best I’ve ever had. I always come here for Chinese food if I’m in town.
Other good dishes include the stir fried duck and Szechuan style green beans as well as the kung Pao chicken

Has the grilled redfish 3 piece dinner and it was awesome.
Service from Tiffany was outstanding.

Great for regular Chinese food, sometimes that is all you want! I have upgraded the egg rolls to 5*! They are great/​wonderful compared to the local competition (besides one chain). I still enjoy sitting at the bar waiting for my food to-​go. Nice, chill environment.

We had a party of 14, and it was 10:00pm. They close at 11:00pm, which we thought would give us enough time to dine here. Dinner was last minute because we had just gotten out of a graduation. Yes, we had a large party, but we preplanned on ordering family style, having everything come out at on once, and getting the bill on one check. Not too complicated. Apparently, it was because they gave us a hard time about it.
The employees here have a serious staring problems. They seated us inside one of their private rooms with glass windows. The windows are seen both ways, so we can see them constantly walking by and looking at us, or straight up standing there and staring. Completely rude and made me uncomfortable because I was seated directly in front of the windows.
The food was good for the most part. One of the best dishes was the chicken lettuce wrap, so I suggest getting that. An order is enough to fill one person up! The seafood udon soup was alright. Mediocre flavor for the broth, and all the veggies in it were overcooked. I can’t remember what the other dishes were exactly since I didn’t order them, but they were your average dishes. They weren’t outstanding or worth getting again.
Plenty of parking. Big restaurant with many tables. I’m not sure how busy it gets since we went at a later time.
I most likely won’t return here, but if I ate here again, then I’d order the chicken lettuce wrap.

This restaurant is the best Chinese food in south Houston. Friendswood to be exact. The food is airways hot and always fresh. The staff is great. The 888 steak stir fry is absolutely out of this world.
If you have a craving for Chinese, and you’re on this side of town, drop in… you won’t regret it.
