For many years this used to be one of my favorites. Sadly, no more. Lunch menu used to be delightful, but now the portions are like appetizers and the price has increased substantially. It always felt like you were really dining, not just eating. But not anymore. Now instead of Greek music, they have a Tejano radio station blasting throughout the restaurant. Should have realized there was a problem when the place was empty…

I came here about 3 years ago for a friend’s birthday dinner on a Saturday night. I remember there was a live band and belly dancers. I also remember the food being really good! So this past weekend I was at the Galleria with my parents and we wanted to have lunch outside the mall. I remembered Alexander’ was not too far from the mall. Luckily, there was no wait and the place was fairly empty which is nice when you bring two 60-something year old’s. My parents and I shared lentil soup that was just enough before we got all«hangry» along with the bread the waiter brought over. I ordered the Athenian Chicken –chicken breast with spinach, feta cheese, nuts and covered in herbs. It was served along with potatoes and carrots/broccoli. My dad had a pork souvlaki sandwich on a french roll and my mom had the grilled chicken sandwich on a french roll. Overall, my parents were happy with this place and they want to come back. That says a lot especially from my dad as he is very picky on the quality of food, service and price.

Really bad experience there. Waitress and waiter there is rude to me, I haven’t checked their menu, then he said what do you want to drink beside water, and then he Trow the menu to me and then when I asked them questions, feel very impatient I asnwer my questions, feel very bad! Terrible and horrible experience

This is a true Greek restaurant. The cabrito reminded of the same dish but outside Corinth in the 70’s, tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned with garlic and oregano. Quiet space, white tablecloths and a knowledgeable waiter with a heavy Greek accent. A truly perfect meal. The prices are fair for the quality of the food and ingredients. The pace of the meal was relaxed, just like the Mediterranean people.

Wonderful dinner. Had Braised Lamb Shank with roasted veggies and a side of asparagus. Our party also had snapper, Yaya’s chicken and oregano Chicken. The tiramisu was great. The lamb fell off the bone. In a strip center, authentic Greek including the servers.

I ordered the lentil soup cup($ 6) and hummus($ 10). The soup was not at all like what it looked like in the picture. I am sure they just opened a cheap can of lentil soup, definitely not good tasting lentil soup. The hummus was beautifully decorated, but average tasting. What was actually quite tasty was the free bread with olive oil– the olive oil had some great spices and feta. So I dipped my hummus in the oil and it really made a difference. The service was fine, I was pretty much the only person in the restaurant.

I stay at the hotel across the street and have passed by this place numerous times. Tonight I walked in and boy how glad I am. I ordered the Soulvlaki Beef Kabob and asked for broccoli instead of the rice. It was incredible. My hats off to the staff that made sure I was well accounted for throughout the experience. I’ll be back for sure.

Bland atmosphere, tired server, pretty good food. Please do not ask me if i want more wine– twice is enough. Spanokopita nice(should come with yogurt dressing-not a dollar extra). My husband enjoyed his mousakka but said it should have more eggplant. Bread and dip delicious. Greek coffee and Greek wine also.

Great food in a non rushed atmosphere. The food was tasty and everything we hoped it would be. Loved the Greek Beer. The gyro platter was very tasty. Loved the Tzatki!

Stopped into Alexander’s on a Thursday evening. Not many people were in but maybe the crowds pick up when there’s a show? Regardless, I enjoyed my experience and I’m glad I gave it a shot. FOOD: The food is delicious. Spanakopita, made fresh and included enough for two people. My date and I shared a bottle of wine(which they have quite a nice selection) along with the Gyro platter and Greek salad. Everything tasted very fresh and the two dishes paired very well together. They also provided fresh oil and bread as a complimentary serving. Worthwhile place to check out if you’re in the mood for Greek food.

Being first timers, we throughly enjoyed our dinner experience. We expected a wait and came to a nearly empty restaurant but were not disappointed in the least. We started with dolmathes(my favorite appetizer or even a meal) and split a rack of lamb. They pre-split the perfect Greek salads for us, as well as, our lamb plates. The lamb was cooked to perfection in a red wine sauce and included sautéed mushrooms, potato, and veggies. Can’t go wrong with this meal! A definite must try if you’re in the neighborhood!

I found this place by looking for a place that has great Greek food and muscles as appetizers! The layout is themed around the Greek era just as it should. It has a family feel to it as well. Once you’re seated they being you some bread and oil to start with, which is made fresh, then you order your appetizer. After you’re through with that your main dish comes out. The staff is great with timing and food presentation. I will be a regular within the next month. I believe they also have ballroom dancing on some days too.

Can you give 0 stars? Horrible service. No sense of urgency from staff. Had to seat ourselves, then had to track down bartender to place order. Only three other tables, server was slow. When order came, it was wrong, and bartender was clueless, so we walked out.

The food was semi-traditional Greek, which is what you’d expect for this place. The Belly Dancer show starts at 9: pm, so if you want to see that go late and make a reservation. We were there with a group; the place is good for groups or parties. I had, «Greek Village Salad»(traditional Greek Salad) which I split with my wife, and the Giro plate. My wife had a Vegetarian Pasta dish with a Portabello Mushroom stuffed with I don’t know what but it was really good. We were with a group and everyone else loved their food as well. The deserts were unusual but good. I would go back. As for the show, it was a belly dancer. If you want that, make a reservation and go late, if not, go early(and expect a mostly empty restaurant) . We’re going to go back, but we’re probably going to go early.

After hearing great reviews about this place, I decided to take my guy here for his birthday dinner. BIGMISTAKE! We should have realized that when we witnessed an empty parking and restaurant. The waiter we had was really slow and we had to keep repeating what we wanted to order. We try to order some cosmopolitan while we waited for our food but the waiter stated he doesn’t know how to make it. My guy ordered the pork chop and it was super dry and tough. I ordered the flounder stuff crabmeat and it was really bland! We had to yell across the room to get the waiter’s attention for service. The whole entire experience here was a complete disaster. We then ask for the check and give the waiter the $ 25 gift certificate that I had and the waiter has no idea what to do with it. It took him another 30+ minutes to figure that out and finally we got our bill. Unfortunately, this will be our first and last time there.

I wasn’t a fan of this place. I thought the food was only okay and the price was way too high. We started with the Tzatziki, which was good but it didn’t blow me away. I got the greek salad with chicken, and the salad was extremely unmemorable and pricey. When I saw the bill, I kept thinking about all the other good food I could’ve had for the price. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but the fact that the place was totally empty wasn’t encouraging. I will not be back.

Great place! Celebrated my birthday here, had the fun of my life! We were a big group with almost 30 people and everyone loved it. A couple of them wanted to celebrate their special occasions there later on. The service was good, everyone had their meal at the same time. For that, you wait a bit longer than usual but it is understandable considering the size of the group. They brought some appetizers in the meantime so we were able to snack on. And the meals were delicious. The owners are really nice! They served me free shots since I was the birthday girl :) They also gave me a crown and a shiny belt. Yes the ones that the belly dancers wear :) Long story short, it was a blast.

I recently attended Alexander the Great for a birthday celebration. Reservations were for 8PM on a Friday and the restaurant was empty. Normally this would be a good indication that the meal would be forgettable, however, I’d heard great things about the food and it was Good Friday so turnout was expected to be low at this Greek restaurant. While the food was worthy of 4 stars, the service deserved 0. A simple birthday dinner in an empty restaurant turned into an energy sapping, frustrating 3 hour experience. To my pleasant surprise, upon entering I noticed there was a live band playing traditional Greek music as well as a belly dancer performing. The cocktails were forgettable to say the least. While very strong(a plus in my book), they were not well mixed and quite frankly bad. Why they took so long to get to the table, I’ll never know. Several of us shared the Greek Feast which consists of tyropita, spanakopita, keftethes, dolmades, feta cheese, tarama and kalamata olives garnished with tomatoes and cucumbers. The dolmades were some of the best I’ve had and everyone enjoyed the platter. For my main course I had the braised lamb shank which was well season and fall-off-the-bone tender. The potatoes were quite good as well. I also tried the chicken souvlaki and gyro which I also enjoyed. The time between ordering and receiving drinks /food seemed somewhat excessive, however, the most absurd delays were related to getting /paying the check. Normally a 2 minute part of a meal, this was a 1 hour disaster. I will likely return to Alexander the Great again, because I truly did enjoy the food and am a sucker for for Greek, however, if the service remotely resembles my previous experience, no amount of good food can win my patronage.
