I live across the street. Been coming for few years for to go orders. Over time you can see the service has gone down. Today was horrible. After waiting close to 20 mins by the hostess table to place order, I than approached a waitress to take order. She said give her few minutes and than never came back. After asking another person and getting a rude answer they wouldn’t take any more orders I left. Kind of sucks they don’t value service anymore. I guess I now agree with other recent reviews!

The restrooms are so nasty all the time, the service in the evening is terrible, had to wait 10 minutes to get drinks and the waiter didn’t check in us the whole time we were eating…

Food was cold. Place was extremely hot. Margarita machine was broken and waitress brought us the margarita melted and expected us to drink it hot. She was not rude but not nice either. When it came to her check she literally asked for $ 10 tip. She said that we had to tip her $ 10 because it was a group check. Will not go back, ever.

I went here today for the first time for cinco de mayo! It’s a awesome place the chips and salsa are so tasty. We got the giant burrito and enchiladas, so awesome. The meat here is tender, cooked to perfection. Great waitstaff, my drink never went halfway

The service is OK, but the food is great and taste like Mexican food not the typical tex mex that most of the restaurants serve in Houston, I don’t drink margaritas but some say that those are good too. Great Mexican food at walking distance from galleria, I’ll be back soon

When we don’t want to drive we eat here. It is hit or miss. I usually order the tacos de bistec and there have been times I been disappointed because the meat was over cooked and dry. They have a decent happy hour. The margaritas are not the best but they will do $ 5 during happy hour and beer is just over a buck! You have to request water other wise they won’t bring it. Sometimes you have to remind them of what you order. Plan on waiting a while, that’s why we go during happy hour so at least we have a drink. There is a few servers that really love their phones and checking their social media, hence why they forget about you. I have noticed they have dancing lessons which seems fun. Good music. They do provide free chips and salsa!

I have mixed feelings about the place. My boyfriend is from Guadalajara and LOVES the«Tortas Ahogadas» which is a signature Tapatio dish. I LOVE their chicken soup which has Panela cheese cubes you drop in and they get all gooey… Soooo gooooddd. Their light green salsa that you usually have to ask for bc it’s so damn spicy and heavenly is my absolute favorite item there. Their chips are also freshly made mmm. Downside is the horrible service. My bf and I used to go frequently when he first found it. However one of the male servers kind of ruined the place for us. He never came to our table. He took forever to bring us anything(water, chips, salsa, beer) so we tipped him 10%. One day we were so frustrated we left him nothing. He spent his whole shift talking to his friends at another table! We went back another time and my bf asked the waitress if she could serve us instead of the other guy bc he had give us poor service in the past(I know this is not a good tactic, but he’s very outspoken). She gave us really great service but the other guy kept looking at us so we know she told him We loved the food though so we went back recently(after a long time)… The waiter saw us and walked away immediately. He went to go talk to the two other servers who kept glancing our way… It was so rude and very uncomfortable for us. But that food is so delicious and we didn’t want them to ruin that for us! Anyway, one of the sweet little ladies that busses pretty much served us. I wish she were a waitress bc she was so friendly and attentive. The other male server swooped by and took the tip we thought we were leaving her :(

I don’t agree with the low ratings related to the food. I had the most amazing Chicken-Flautas experience ever! I enjoyed my food. The strawberry margaritas on the rocks are huge, delicious, and strong. The staff was prompt and kind. I am definitely going to return. The only downside, I feel, about this restaurant is that it smells like the Mexican cleaning solution«Fabuloso», which I feel is inappropriate for a restaurant. There are many fragrance-free cleaning supplies. Other than this… it’s good.

This place is conveniently located by my apartment, so it is something that I can get in and out of quickly. I absolutely LOVE the interior décor and the fact that they have a porch to sit out on on nice days. The interior is decorated with a hodgepodge of different things that give it a great vibe. I also love the fact that there is plenty of floor space and a large bar area as well. One of my other favorite things about this place is the salsa and chips. They serve you a red salsa and an onion salsa that is SO good, but the cherry on op is the«secret» green salsa that they will give you only if you ask for it. Beware, it is SPICY!!! So good, yet so painful. Love it! The reason as to why I gave this place 3 stars instead of 4 is because of the food. I truly think the food is a little on the bland side. On the other hand, my boyfriend thinks its amazing. All in all, this could definitely end up being my boyfriend and I’s Friday night hangout.

I visited this place on a Friday night because we wanted some food and drinks, but didn’t want to go far from home or break the bank. Paparruchos fit that bill and I’m really glad we came here. First, the salsas that they offer are amazing. we got chips and salsa, but we received three different salsas, and all of them were amazing. I think one of them was a «secret» salsa so ask for that when you visit. I ordered quesadillas. They were not anything special, but just a standard quesadilla done right. The meant was juicy, the cheese was gooey, and the tortilla was slightly crispy. Also, the quesadilla was huge. I love quesadillas so I would totally get this again. My only dig on this place is that they don’t have any draft beer. They do have lots of bottled Mexican though. I’m definitely coming back.

I visited this place on a Wednesday night for dinner. They have lots of TVs to watch games and a good atmosphere. The food was good and the service was great. The chips and salsa are awesome.

My husband and I decided to go to there on a Friday night for dinner. We show up and they are charging $ 10 valet at 8pm! When we asked the guy if parking in the back was free he said no, that they charge valet on Fridays and Saturdays now. I would understand if this place was amazingly awesome and in a great location but it’s not. It’s ok. We have been coming here for years and I think it’s ridiculous to be charging valet on the weekends, before 9pm. We didn’t go in but I’m wondering if they were charging at the door as well. Definitely not worth it.

Avoid. Waiter repeatedly messed up our table’s tab and then ripped us off by demanding that we pay for food that someone had already paid for. Also, worst margarita I’ve ever had. Food was mediocre, at best. Not to mention, the place turned into a nightclub halfway through our meal. It was bizarre. They turned on a fog machine and people started dancing to 90’s booty music and reggaeton. I guess it didn’t bother me that much, since we were on the patio. It’s just a bizarre place. Also, first Mexican restaurant with hookahs that I’ve ever been to. Very weird place.

Good value for food for the most part. Typical Mexican food but nothing to write home about. Wouldn’t mind giving it a four star rating except for the bar service. As with most people on here we had issues with the horrible bartender. He served a normal drink in a double drink glass. When we complained he poured the drink back into the single drink glass. At that point there was no value given he had already diluted the drinks. When we pointed this out he told us it was our responsibility to ask for a single glass glass. I offered to disprove this by driving him to every restaraunt close by to show him that no one else insisted on this nonsense. He declined at this point. The waitress was kind and accommodating but the bartender was a waste of time.

I don’t give a shit that this place is low rated– this place is awesome! Kind of. It was within walking distance of our hotel even though it seems as if no one walks anywhere in Houston… Seriously no one. We wanted a night cap and the hotel bar was just loaded with too many older folks. We needed a livelier spot. Their spicy mango margarita — frozen and get the large –is soooo good. 11 bucks and it’s plenty. We came here a couple times to drink before a wedding and to end the night a couple times, and I always ordered this. The one gripe is their service can be a hit or miss. A little flaky/missing in action type of thing. Tick tock. Their tacos and fajitas are pretty delicious. I love this place and I want another giant spicy mango margarita to put me to bed. Forget the peninsula’s drinks. Yes to this place. I know my picture is fucked but I already tried rotating it and it uploads upside down so this is what you get so deal. But now you can see the wondrous spicy mango margarita! They’re larger in person. It’s sooooo goood!!!

This is literally the worst restaurant that I have ever been to, EVER. The lady secretly ripped us off for extra money and laughed in our face about it. She gave us complimentary salsa and chips for our starter like they do for everyone. After setting it on our table, she chalantly asked with these exact words, «would you also like cheese or guacamole?» We were just like ok sure, we’ll have some cheese. She NEVER once mentioned that it would cost extra, she didn’t say a price or anything. She came back with a small bowl of what tasted like microwaved cheese. Fast forward some 30 minutes later, we get the bill. She charged $ 6.50 for the small bowl of microwaved cheese. We called her to the table and told her that she never told us it costed money for the cheese. She said super rudely, «nothing’s ever free» and LITERALLY started laughing straight to our faces. She knew she basically stole money from us and was happy she got away with it. I’ve never been more enraged in my life. I felt so upset that I got ripped off for our hard earned money. This place has no idea what customer service is and they remind me a lot of my dog’s stool.
