Dr. Loma Hamouie has been my dentist for over 10 years. She is a fantastic dentist and I trust her implicitly. I noticed some reviews that say she does not seem friendly or ask a lot of questions. Since I have known her, she has never been very talkative and I am ok with that. She typically only brings things up if they are a concern. I can understand why this might not come across the right way for a first impression but she is a great dentist and she will take excellent care of your teeth and she doesn’t try to sell you things or perform extra procedures that are not necessary. Another great thing about this dentist is they always have the latest technology. While in college and living in another city, I went to different dentist for a routine cleaning and the dentist told me I needed a root canal and it would be $ 1600. I drove to Houston to see Dr. Hamouie for a second opinion. She was able to save my tooth and made me a partial crown using a new technology and for 1⁄3 of the cost quoted by the other dentist.

Only part of the story: Miles of smiles. I found two reviews, one good and one bad. This dentist shouldn’t be to bad then is what I thought. I schedule two appointments, one for myself at 2 and one for my husband at 3. The parking situation for this strip center is non existent. Not the dental practices fault but it may be a deciding factor. We got lucky and parked a couple doors down. I had filled out the paperwork ahead of time for both of us. This was a nice feature. But turns out they didn’t have my husbands. Found this out after we were greeted by a bland, blah receptionist that hardly made eye contact. No smile, no warm welcome. No welcome at all. My husband fills out his paperwork and we wait to be seen. 20+ minutes after 2 my name is called. I ask if my husband can come back since he’s the next appointment(the waiting room is tiny and cramped). I had to keep repeating myself before she understood. He came back with me because she said it was ok since he’s next. We walked into a room with two exam chairs. Then past the two chairs to a sectioned off portion of the room with another exam chair. They lay me back before wrapping my arm to get the blood pressure. I then had to sit up to take part of my sweater off and after to get the rest of my sweater on again. I didn’t need to lay back for blood pressure being taken. Oh well is what I’m thinking. The dental hygienist introduces herself after getting me prepped for a cleaning. She doesn’t sound happy at all. She then pokes my teeth and gums while calling out a series of numbers to an assistant between each poke. Then the doctor pops in asks her a question and the hygienist replies. Then asks me a question about my X-rays and I answer by saying I hadn’t done them yet. The dentist leaves and the hygienist says I’ll get my dental plan after the x-rays. The dental hygienist then starts cleaning my teeth. Stops and says my gums by one tooth are bad and will need a deep cleaning. She goes to check the price. Comes back and I agree to the $ 80. She continues and there is water everywhere! All over my face and she keeps wiping it away. It’s so awkward and uncomfortable. I’ve never had water constantly splashed on my face for 20 minutes. The deep cleaning HURT. I was bleeding profusely. I’m then taken to get my x ray in a different room. But it’s occupied so I’m taken to the waiting room. I wait for a while. A long while. They come and get me. The x ray tech doesn’t have any bedside manner either. At least she’s quick with me. She also asks me about if the dentist saw me yet. Yes but I need my X-rays before she can talk about any problems I may have and the plan. I get taken back to the room my husband is in. I see him being poked and prodded some by the hygienist before getting sent to the adjoining room. This is the room with two exam chairs and no divider. After the hygienist commands me to sit in one of the two chairs to wait for the dentist another patient gets commanded to sit in the other chair. We are both sitting there waiting. Me and this other lady and we’re both trying not to look at each other. More employees coming and going. Then I hear my husband and the hygienist talking(not sure what they are saying) on the other side of the divider. The hygienist starts calling me to come over. My husband needs his entire mouth deep cleaned. That’s expensive but he apparently needs it so I say yes. Healthy teeth are important. I’m told I can go sit in the other room again. After more sitting the hygienist comes in again and tells me I need special mouthwash for my dirty couple of teeth and that little section of gums. That way they don’t get infected. The other patient is sitting next to me still and hears everything. Even how much it will cost me. She goes back to take care of my husband. The dentist comes in and starts to talk with the other patient. The hygienist comes in(one who should be working on my husbands teeth) and tells the dentist I need to be seen. Dentist comes over to me, looks at the computer and says I look good. And did the hygienist give me the special prescription mouth wash. The answer is yes. Apparently that’s my dental plan. The dentist goes back to the other patient and starts talking about their chipped tooth, financial stuff, etc. My husband is finished getting a cleaning and is taken to get an X-ray. The X-ray tech isn’t there and the room is empty. So we wait a while together. I start looking through my file I was given to hold on to when I was seated in the room with two chairs next to each other. Turns out only one paper in the entire file has my name on it. The rest of the 4 papers are someone else name. Not only this it has all their personal info. Including age, address, health history, and social security number! This also means my info is someplace else. If I was a bad person or a bad person had my info…

This dentist is terrible and rude. Do not waste your time and money, no one introduces themselves and the dentist didn’t introduce herself not did she even ask why my name was before sticking her hand in my mouth
