Big Daddy’s BBQ

Asked for a LEAN brisket sandwich to go, took a bite on I-​10 & it was a glob of FAT. No comprende. For the money, there are better places.

The brisket was very dry and pricey. The customer service wasn’t any better. I called 6 times to get a person on the phone. I will not be back… EVER!

I came in w my mom for the 1^st time. Restaurant was completely empty except for her and I, and the 2 workers. Super quiet which made it kind of awkward. Suddenly a guy appears and WE greeted him. Lol. Told him it was my first time here and he just say… nothing. We both ordered the baked potatoes w brisket and a drink. Paid $ 21. They over-​chop the brisket to the point that it looks like ground beef. Brisket was dry, tasteless, just very BLAND. They give you the potato slit in the middle and they give all the sides separately in little styrofoam containers (cheese, sour cream, butter, chives, and even the meat), plus a tiny side of BBQ sauce which is extremely sweet! Even though all sides were added, potato and meat soaked it all up bc it was so dry and even then it was still horribly dry and bland.

So I am in town visiting my best friend, and we decided to do a bbq run for the family. We walk in and the place was dead, There were tables that were not cleaned up, with food and silverware everywhere. That was weird. So we ordered the food and the sides were in these cheap plastic containers that kept collapsing. After we paid, we asked for another bag to put the leaking side dishes in. These sides were leaking all over the counter, and the apathetic employee told us to get napkins to clean it. Seriously. While we were waiting for the additional bag, I swear I saw a mouse run out then back under the island. I was real tired and thought I was tripping. As my friend and I walked to the car, I was like man I don’t think I want to eat this stuff. She said yes, we have three year old kids and what if we really saw a mouse. So we go back in and demand a refund. As the apathetic employee was giving us our refund, I saw a RAT. I swear to God. A RAT clear as day. I screamed! The guy was not phased at all. The place is filthy and I’m glad I was not too tired and losing my mind. A mouse is bad but a RAT. This thing was a beast. The total for the food was almost $ 50. They have a lot of nerve to charge that much. The restaurant also did not have their most recent inspection posted up anywhere. DO NOT GO HERE. FILTHY. The guy also took his sweet time trying to give the refund. We were the only ones there. Give the dang money back and worry about the register later geez.

Probably the most mediocre BBQ I have eaten in Houston. Priced way out of range for the quality.

Disgusting bathrooms, filthy restaurant, and mean staff.
If I could give them negative stars I would. We ate there for over ten years, but since the restaurant sold recently the new owners and their staff are just awful.
I wouldn’t go there again even if I was paid to go.

Love Big Daddy’s. Love the BBQ sauce. The meat could have more smoke, but it is tender & moist. The sides & prices are great. Much better value than any other BBQ place in the area.

We tried the brisket here. Did not care for it. No season on the meat, sauce was so watered down. Wish i could say something good, but the food just lacked flavor.

This place used to be good. It’s gone down hill considerably throughout the years. The meat is either dry or tasteless and the sides are VERY greasy. Who’s ever had greasy green beans??? Ribs are dry and the meat is scarce. Their brisket sandwich isn’t too bad. Prices are really high for the quality of food and lack of service. We’ve been to at least 2 locations and both had staff that acted like they didn’t want to be there.
Not recommended.

The pork was dry. You shouldn’t serve pork if you can’t keep it from getting dry. It had no seasoning at all. I won’t go there again.

Servers did not greet customers and floors were dirty and I noticed bugs flying inside the restaurant. Restrooms were dirty. Restaurant needs major attention was not satisfied with this place at all. Their menu is confusing too and customers pay too much money for what they serve.

Recently one of the deals of the day that I am currently obsessed with (was it groupon? living social… can’t recall) offered a good deal on Big Daddy’s– $ 10 bucks for $ 20 worth of food. As Big Daddy’s is only located a five minute drive from our house, my husband and I decided to partake. Worth it!
When you walk in you are welcomed by the manager and the servers behind the bar– they seemed like very nice people. The food is cheap, simple and to the point. I got the two meat special– chicken and BBQ, and two sides of macaroni and cheese scalloped potatoes, my husband also got the two meat special but went with the BBQ, spicy sausage and the same sides because he likes to copy. I thought the food was good, although a little bland. My husband, however, was in love. I thought he was going to lick the plate or roll in the sauce, and he hasn’t stopped talking about it since. I was just like ‘ehh,’ but the prices were really good for a big meal and I am interested in trying the BBQ stuffed potatoe another day. So I’ll be back. regardless if my husband decides to drag me or not.
