Big Freeze Ice Cream

I tried to find big freeze ice cream because of the great reviews left by other users. After circling the parking lot many times, an employee of Buffalo Wild Wings informed us that it closed down last week.

If I could give this place a 3.5 I would but… that’s not possible :(I’ll keep this review short and simple. The interior was really clean and I like the abundance of seating here. Reserved parking since it’s on the strip with buffalo wild wings which gets pretty packed.
There were tons of flavors of icecream as well as frozen yogurt and sorbets, some were classic other flavors were a bit more eccentric. I tried the shipley’s donut and my god does it really taste like a donut. Amazing! But I don’t think the pricing here is really worth it. Two icecreams for 11+ dollars with no toppings? mehhh. You can get other interesting flavored ice creams at much more decent prices at other places around houston. BUT thumbs up for the really wonderful and charismatic girl behind the counter.

Literally the very BEST ice cream in the city!!! I scream you scream, we all scream «You have got to get THIS Ice Cream!!!»
They change out the homemade flavors all the time and I can’t wait to go back in to see what’s new!

Salted caramel ice cream… don’t mind if I do! Along with the aforementioned deliciousness Big Freeze had a case full of delectable treats. While I went with the one flavor that piqued my interest the fiancé went for a trifecta of flavors. The samples that I tried before settling on my one flavor all had one thing in common. They were rich, creamy and true to their flavors. This is a dangerous new addition to the Washington corridor. I will be back.

I am always excited to try out a new ice cream place. They have frozen yogurt here as well, but I’m all about the fattening stuff.
As soon as we walked in the lady started handing us samples. It was good to be able to try all of the different flavors. They had the old faithfuls, like rocky road. They also had some I had never tried before like Shipley Donut, and Caramel and Sea Salt. I really liked the Shipley Donut, (it tastes exactly like a donut) so I coupled that with some Birthday Cake and had a sundae. I was not disappointed.
They have dedicated parking out front and the prices are totally reasonable. The staff is friendly and the place is spotless. I will definitely be back.

The excellent selection of specialty ice creams and delicious flavors will keep you coming back! As a ‘regular,’ I applaud the exemplary service on the part of the employees, and the consistent high-​quality product.

The proprietor used to be a bartender, and you get the vibe that you have stepped into some futuristic ice cream saloon… I’m pretty sure there was a rack to stash your hoverboard. Sidle up to the bar, and sample any one of the 32 flavors of handmade, homemade, gourmet ice cream, sorbetto and gelato. Nay, sample ALL of them, if you like. After cutting myself off of the sample wagon after more than half a dozen, all served up with a smile, we ended up getting ice cream, sorbetto, gelato… AND a milkshake. Like any good bartender, we were properly chatted up. All of them are amazing, but the highlights were the bourbon butterscotch ice cream, the raspberry sorbetto, and the limoncello. The prices are a little high, but considering the locally sourced and high end ingredients they use, and the aforementioned liberal sampling policy, it was well worth it. Houston needs more ice cream parlors, fewer bars. Plus… no hangover (except that driving back to the office afterward, all we could think about was napping) Get here! You’ll scream for ice cream!

I had been eyeing this place for a while, as I wasn’t sure what was going to open. So, on my Saturday night ride to grab a burger for my movie night at home, I decided to pop into Big Freeze for some ice cream. They have only been open two days. The gentleman that helped me was super nice, very friendly, and cool. He allowed me to taste a couple, but right away I knew the bourbon vanilla had me. The brownie tasted like what you lick off the spoon of brownie batter, and the pistachio was delicious. Honestly, if I hadn’t just gained 4 pounds from Thanksgiving, I would have taken one of each. For 2 scoops it was $ 5. They make everything in house, theres enough room to had a flat screen tv, and they have some really original flavors. The ice-​cream was absolutely devine. I will be back!
