LOVED THIS PLACE. So sad to only have gone here the last day before I moved! I don’t know the names of the nail techs who did my mani/​pedi, but I have no doubt that everyone there does an excellent job. The chairs are so nice, and the drinks are definitely a nice touch. If you’re ever in need of a nail salon in Houston, you’ve found it.

If your looking to really relax, this is not the place. Chairs are very uncomfortable (haven’t been to a nail salon without massage chairs in years) and the music is loud.

I am not a regular manicure– pedicure person due to my busy schedule but when I get it done I want it to be good. This place has a lot of pluses —
1) it’s 2 min walking from my house
2) beautiful ambience
3) They offer drinks.
4) very pleasant people
5) i loved the way they shaped my nails and the gels and creams they used for the massage.
6) Lisa is very nice, the next time I go I will definitely ask for her again.

Mod nail bar has the greatest atmosphere! I love the décor that makes me feel like I’m in a lady gags music video and the complimentary drinks while I’m pampered. But that’s pretty much all I like. While it’s cute and techs are fairly nice I don’t think it’s nearly worth the price tag. Especially when my feet look the same way they did before I came in. Maybe I’ll try them again, but for now the search continues!

Had such a wonderful experience here! This is where you go to treat yo self! Perfect for a girls day. Atmosphere is classy and staff is very friendly, helpful, and warm. I recommend the lavender pedicure and gel nails. Staff is VERY detailed oriented and professional (and this is coming from someone very picky haha). Feeling so refreshed, relaxed, and pampered after my visit!

This place was okay. The reason I am giving three stars is because I don’t feel as if my pedicure it was worth $ 67. The customer service isn’t that great. The place is run by a brother and sister, who have their mom working as a nail tech. I was lucky enough to have mom as my nail tech, and her service was great! My pedicure was wonderful, I just think this place is way over priced. The chairs aren’t even massage chairs. But, their creativity with their pedicures and the great service I received from my nail tech was definitely a plus. I don’t think I will ever go back because I would rather get better customer service and the same quality pedicure with a massage chair for $ 30 down the street.

What a lovely establishment! I was on Fall Break from school, and I know I deserved some pampering before I hosted a giant Friendsgiving. I actually set an appointment at Noon (appointments are not necessary, but I wanted to know someone was available for me). I arrived at 11:55am, and I was given a menu. The menu had drinks as well as nail treatments! So, I opted for a diet coke, an Exclusive manicure, and Mod Special Pedicure.
Both of the technicians were so friendly and spoke in English the entire time! I never had to pull out my magazine or feel that I needed to «busy» myself. It was also nice to notice that every other chair had a person in it as well as their shellac area – well, that was packed!
I was happily melting in my chair and didn’t give a thought to the stresses that awaited me on Thanksgiving Day. I needed this. My service ended around 1pm with my manicure COMPLETELY dry and my pedicure spent about ten minutes under the heat lamp. I could have fallen asleep… but I didn’t.
I did, however, run out afterward to grab a coffee since I was way too relaxed to go home and work on Turkey Day prep.
I hope to return during my winter holidays for another pampering session (probably before I go see the in-​laws).

Chic & swanky! Love the gold and black decór. Dropped in for an express pedicure and couldn’t have been more content. Considering I was a walk-​in on a Friday afternoon I expected to wait, but the place was actually fairly empty… which makes me believe I beat the after-​work rush! I was promptly seated and given a choice of wine, champagne, water or soda. I opted for champagne and settled into my seat. The pedicure tub was a traditional soaking tub (no jets) adorned with flower petals and cucumbers. Oldies music played lightly in the background, which allowed for optimal relaxation. The nail tech did an exquisite job, and really took his time and honored my specific request. Overall it was a great experience & I highly recommend!

I went to get a shellac manicure. The place was super chic. It would’ve been fun to bring my mom there. They have neat set ups for pedicures and they serve alcohol.
However, I paid $ 50 to have a shellac manicure which is more than most nail places charge for solar nails. And the shellac chipped after one week. Cool atmosphere but not worth the money.

I wish I could give more stars to this place, since it absolutely exceeded my expectations! I have never had a pedi done by someone else but myself since I think it’s so unsanitary for several people to put their feet in the same sink! Mod Nail Bar has liners for each sink and they dispose them after each pedicure. I have now changed my mind and cannot wait for my next pedi!!! The staff is so friendly, super nice and they truly desire to pamper you! I think I spent more time talking to the techs during my mani-​pedi than the friend I went with! My shellac has stayed intact for almost 3 weeks now… no chipping and it’s still super shiny! You feel like a princess the entire time you’re there and you seriously do not want to leave after they’re done! Best place in Houston!

I have been in Houston for 2 years and haven’t found a nail place that I keep going back to… But this is it. Very clean and staff is friendly. If you are into nail design then try this place out! You may be paying a price but for a great quality and service — totally worth it :)

This is the absolute best nail bar in Houston! The general atmosphere is both trendy and modern, while the efficiency and undivided attentiveness of the staff is evocative of a relaxing spa.
Most importantly this nail bar is super CLEAN. All top of the line polishes (Chanel, OPI, etc.) and shiny new tools, and none of those gross, jacuzzi-​bubbly pedicure tubs that amass large quantities of fungus/​disease-​causing bacteria! There are always available appointments, even on weekends, which is perfect if you’re a procrastinator like myself.
Tanya makes a mean Mimosa and is a genius at choosing great colors for both the season and your skin tone. Also, ask for Pearl if you’re looking for unique, artistic designs. I’ve come to trust her talent so much that now, on those days when I walk in with zero idea of what I’d like to do with my nails, Pearl will free-​style beautiful designs, leaving me worry-​free.
If you’re in Houston, and you’d like to experience a modern, trendy, Cali-​style nail bar, Mod Nail Bar is definitely for you. I almost wish this place wasn’t so conveniently located to my loft, I’ve been there every week since they’ve opened!

To start off, I will be leaving my usual nail place for this one and the reasons are.
— I absolutely love this place, the atmosphere, the quality, the customer service.
Starting with the atmosphere, when you walk in its bright and just beautiful. The chairs, although I at first thought they would’ve been uncomfortable due to their size I was wrong– they are EXTREMELY comfy. I could sleep in them bc they’re just so comfortable, and beautiful I might add. The diamond stitching and gold and black pillows are adorable. The gold and black theme is so pretty. I love it.
The quality, I think it’s awesome how they ask if you would like to keep or throw away nail filer and buffer. After my pedicure I noticed my nail tech throw away the sink liner. Which as for me — someone who’s extremely germaphobe, its a good and comforting feeling to know that their equipment is clean and SANITARY.
Lastly customer service. I was greeted by the receptionist, I believe her name was Tanya and she was extremely sweet. Talked me through every question I had about the packages they do. I went with the MOD SPECIAL, which I know some people may think is pricey, but as someone who drove for two days and was looking forward to a nice pedi it was so relaxing and just soothing. Also I might add, I arrived 25ish minutes early to my appointment, and was seated as soon as I had chose what I wanted done which was to me so amazing. I had my pedi done by Christina, and the design was beautiful, her company was good — not your normal tech who doesn’t talk much to you or just occasionally stares lol she conversed with me and it was nice to have a nail tech I can talk to. For my nails I did shellac and just like my toes, I was so happy with my outcome.
Oh, and I must add their complimentary drinks are a super PLUS! overall I loved this place and will be returning. Love love loved it.

I felt like a princess in the chairs! Excellent work and a lot of colors to choose from. If in the area, I definitely recommend you check them out.

I’m going to go back and give it another try. I really want to like this place!
I was a walk-​in opening week. I wanted to have my nails done for an event that night, and requested colors to match my outfit for the event. Sadly, the manicurist reversed the colors, so the reason I got my nails done was moot. She also over-​cut my cuticles, and when she couldn’t get antiseptic out of the bottle, she used acetone instead over my cut cuticles. This has caused a painful infection along my cuticles on 3 fingers. They only gave me $ 5 off of the manicure for the color mistake. Their prices are also higher than I typically pay at Citris, which is also nearby in the Heights.
The pros are that the place is very cute, the employees seem to be nice, and do a very clean job on the design of the nails.
The one thing that makes me very nervous about returning is the pain I’m experiencing from having my cuticles mishandled. I may give it another go in 6 months though.

I have never been to such a high quality salon before. From the moment I called to make an appointment to when I walked out the door, I was given amazing customer service. Tanya and Brandon are a magnetic duo. Hands down the best experience I’ve had in Houston. Ask for Tina — she did a fabulous job on my nails. She was fast AND accurate. And Nilsa was so thorough on my pedicure and massage. I could have stayed at this place for hours. I highly recommend and can’t wait to come back and get pampered!

I love this place! I had an amazing pedicure. The staff was great, very attentive and made sure I was happy throughout the process (including a glass of wine and Fiji water). The place has a chic/​modern, upscale look and is very clean. I always wondering about other places and the tubs they use. This place uses non-​traditional tubs, with a lining (see the pictures). Personally I think it’s way better than other places. The chairs were very comfortable, with tons of space for a drink and your phone or purse. Overall great experience, my feet feel and look amazing!

Uh-​oh… I’ve been so loyal, but now I’m totally in love with another! My friend & I attended Mod Nail Bar’s soft opening last weekend, and from the moment we walked in, we were hooked.
Tanya made us feel right at home with champagne and spa menus only a sheer genius could dream up. And you can’t help but feel like royalty in those luxe thrown chairs with diamonds everywhere?! Love the atmosphere.
This is not your average nail spa. It has an intimate boutique feel, and the services are ON POINT! Total attention to detail — best hand and foot massage in town — the hottest colors, and a killer location. Tina did my refill + pedi, and she did an amazing job.

Christina and Tanya are SOOO good. MOD NAIL BAR just opened and I was lucky enough to walk in on their first day. They were very organized, communicated well with each other and with clients and they tag teamed a fantastic mani pedi for me. The store has a unique posh new vibe with custom chairs and mirrored tables. Annnd. COMPLIMENTARY DRINKS! I will def be back!

Mod Nail Bar has been on my bucket list before it was even opened, with private soft opening invitations & hundreds of followers on their instagram page I thought this place was all hype. Mod Nail Bar has definitely delivered the luxury & service to match with its hype & has proven it is not just all hype. For my first ever service here I got the mod special pedicure, why not? Pedicures come with a milk bath and fresh rose petals for your toes.
Rose petals? Fiji water? Yup, the whole royal treatment. Amenities include complimentary sangria, wine, champagne, and Fiji water with you service. Don’t want Fiji? They also have variety of other drinks including Starbucks coffee, soda & juice. Complementary neck pillows for your service as well. Nice!
Don’t forget the hot rock massage & mask for your legs/​foot.
Tina was extremely professional & friendly during the entire service. Sanitation is the biggest priority for Mod Nail Bar. My manicurist Tina informed that files and buffers are a one time use, afterwards clients may choose to take them home or are properly disposed of. Before each pedicure the sink is covered with a new sink bag for each client. Pedicure tools are sterilized after each service. This definitely puts my mind at ease because many nail salons do not practice these sanitation procedures.
Mod Nail Salon has definitely wowed me with their beautiful décor, lux service, sanitation procedures & customer service. A salon I will definitely be returning to soon.
