This is a cool place with a very chill vibe. I LOVE the nachos here! You also have to try their lemon bars(unless they have sold out for the day) because they rock! Greta beer and wine selection, local art and local bands!

They have a great happy hour and their pizza is the bomb. I’ve been here a few times and never had been let down. The place is always packed with a nice looking crowd.

Definitely not expecting to find this kind of place tucked into the middle of 3rd ward, but I was pleasantly surprised. Giving off a distinct Louisiana /new Orleans vibes which parallels with good jazz and good soul food. The ambiance and vibes of the place were inviting and calming. They had a plethora of beers on tap and draft to choose from. The food was also incredibly vegetarian friendly but I chose to go with the shrimp tacos. They also served coffee and the entertainment was presented in a live manner. The audience was very involved in the process and receptive.

A huge meh. I sincerely doubt I’ll ever find myself here again. The food is alright but nothing spectacular. I wasn’t going with high expectations, since it’s really just a coffee shop, right? So, the set-up is really cool with a nice interior including some cool art and a great patio area with different types of seating. Naturally, as a coffee shop, you’d think the coffee would be good. And yet, easily one of the worst coffee experiences I’ve ever had, and I am not a picky connoisseur. Even your corporate coffee is better than the stuff they use. My uncle can brew better coffee with a Keurig or Mr. Coffee. Seriously, I can generally eat and drink anything, but I couldn’t go through with it and more importantly, didn’t want to finish it. The same went for my partner in crime who disliked her latte. I can’t knock the presentation or the site itself, but the area doesn’t exactly give a happy, safe vibe either. So, if this is all you got within your vicinity, then make the best of it. Outside of that, just remember that you can find better, and it’s probably worth the drive to go elsewhere. In a word: awful.

Omg. Shrimp tacos. That is all. But seriously they are so good. I don’t know what they put on them but I honestly think they are the best shrimp tacos I have ever had. I had one shrimp and one fish taco, and I liked the shrimp one better. The wait wasn’t too long, staff was friendly. The only thing that was disappointing is that I went mainly because a local website said they had a live jazz band there that evening, but they weren’t playing when using got there nor were they playing when I left. Not sure where the disconnect was.

CONSCONSCONS: Not clean, WORST coffee I’ve ever had — tasted like water, chicken sandwich was overcooked, staff seemed checked out. Have no clue how this place has positive reviews!

Houston is made for patios and courtyards. Why don’t more places have them?!? A homey spot in the hood… ah, good times :)

I love this chill place. Fish tacos are delicious! Love the live music and cool patio. Family friendly, low-key and relaxing. Great staff, delicious beer on tap and always fun. I’ve been here many, many times and have never had a bad experience. Fun art, great people, good music and yummy food. You won’t be disappointed.

The fish and shrimp tacos are all I can attest to, but they were pretty darn good. I also had a pretty good porter. Cool place with cool patio area. Check it out.

I wanted to like Bohemeo’s. It has a cool/chill vibe. Decent selection of beers. Very hipster atmosphere. But the food… We got nachos and pizza. It just wasn’t great. I could have made better in my own kitchen in minutes. They use the cheap round stadium nachos, the cheese almost instantly solidified, and the toppings just didn’t taste fresh. Now granted. The food is VERY cheap. And I think it’s an ancillary service. But we went there to eat dinner before an event at UH and I was a little disappointed. I’m not sure I’ll be back. If I lived in the neighborhood, I’d probably go every now and then, but it’s not worth a drive for.

Adorable east side café that offers a lot of vegetarian options and often has live music! Last time I was there I only got coffee, but next time I’ll definitely try some of their food!

Bohemeo’s recently hosted the YES Prep Fine Arts Exhibition and, wow, it was such a great experience for our students, families, and the community we come with. The drinks were great, the food was a hit, and even though we may have overrun them a little bit, everyone was excited about coming back next year. Thank you Bohemeo’s!(Try the tacos and Honey Zen!)

Thanks Unilocal,I thought I new the area well but I never new this little whole in the wall(love whole in the walls) existed. The fish and shrimp tacos on a wheat tortilla were very good. I like the vibe I will definitely be coming back. I love that the East Side is transitioning.

A perfect neighborhood coffee shop, and so much more! If Bohemeo’s was just my local coffee shop, it would still earn five stars. Everything else it offers just goes above and beyond. 8 local and/or craft draught beer options(~$ 4-$ 8) as well as a sizable bottle collection(12oz to 36+oz) The coffee here is simple and great, as things should be; with quality main ingredients, you don’t need a bunch of fluff to dress it up. They do make one blended ice coffee drink that I love, it’s been solely responsible for getting me out of bed on more occasions than I care to admit. Very capable, knowledgeable and cute baristas. With two stages, one indoors and one out, Bohemeo’s does a number of different types of shows, from poetry readings to musical performances to open mic. They also throw art shows and have a community bulletin board for fliers. Their food menu is rather expansive for such a small kitchen. Salads, sandwiches, pizzas, on top of dessert and little coffee shop pastries in the case up front. Fish tacos(2for$ 5, 3for$ 6) are also super popular and excellent. Just the right amount of spice for almost any palate! A couple couches and ~8 little tables inside, surrounding a stage they use for shows, readings, etc. A side patio with six tables(w/several power outlets!) Back patio with twelve 4-tops under cover surrounding the outdoor stage(perfect place to set up with your friends for a lazy afternoon, or with your laptop for productive evening), and a couple picnic tables and stone benches on grass around a fountain(can anyone say ‘late-afternoon-first-date-coffee-with-that-girl-you –just-met-on-your-bicycle’?) So come, have a beverage, relax in the shade, hang out. You’ll be glad you did.
