Best burger in this area. Very nice and reasonable price

This is the only place that I’ll go to for a bulgogi burger. The building itself isn’t flashy, and everything else is pretty ordinary, but hands down the best bulgogi burger I’ve ever had.

I love going to this place. Their burgers are pretty good. I would avoid lunch time though. The place gets pretty packed. Bulgogi burger is pretty amazing. Try it out

Great burgers with buttery hamburger buns. They also have a crock pot with liquid cheese(queso without rotel). Good, cheap place for a quick and easy bite. Not a healthy place whatsoever.

This place is awesome. I’m a regular here. Billy the owner is a cool guy. I recommend the chicken sandwich. Good lord is that thing good! its a little pricey but worth it. I’ve also had the fish sandwich and its good but not as good as the chicken sandwich.

Fresh ingredients are the game. Tasty homemade buns made them fame. Where to find friendlier service? Burger Tex is the name. Thanks to the tips from fellow Unilocalers helped me to order the right thing. Yes, the veggie bar looked scary if I looked at it closely. Bulgogi Burger was tender and juicy. However, the description was misleading — not marinaded in teriyaki sauce. Otherwise, it would be Teri Burger. For those non-beef eating folks, they have Fish Burger Combo with fried catfish filet and chicken platters. Sorry, no kids’ meals here, grown-ups only. P. S. Watch my in-app video for a sense of its dining area.

Pretty good burger and fries. Fast and easy. Like the vat of nacho cheese you can self serve on your fries.

Burger was juicy, hot and the secret recipe buns are amazing! I had the mushroom Swiss with fries and it was out fast and the service friendly. If you are a burger aficionado or just a hungry burger lover, try this place out. Still have to try the Korean Bulgogi dinner or burger. You will not be disappointed!

My burger was absolutely delicious! I had not been here in years and it’s still just as good as the last time I was here. I would recommend this place to all of my family and friends!

Absolutely garbage! I work right down the street and tried this place a few times. Every time it has failed to satisfy my burger taste buds. The patty is small as hell and unusually chewy! Who the hell wants a chewy burger? lol Then bun is ok, but too big for the patty the put it on. I also didn’t like the vegetables open all in the public…

I have been looking for a good turkey burger and thought this was the place to have one. If you like a bland unseasoned frozen turkey patty this is for you. I won’t be back.

I have worked right down the street from this place for two years now. We used to order at least once a week without fail. Not only were their burgers delish, but the fries were perfectly seasoned and seemed to stay hot even when we pre-ordered and brought the food back to the office. And the wings. OMG…Total Addiction! But then a few months ago the Fry Lady left and it went downhill from there. How do you place an order for two and get one order of fries over-cooked and the other order of fries under-cooked and almost soggy? And what happened to the seasoning they used to put on the fries? I used to ask them to lighten up on the seasoning for my orders; now the fries are just bland. And the wing orders are all jacked up all time now! If I order Garlic Parmesan Wings(extra garlic parm) that does not mean«sprinkle» or «dash».(Twice they forgot to flavor my wings and the fry guy just put the garlic parm in a condiment cup for me to pour on when I got back to my office… WTH?) And to top it off the taste of anything fried is off because it’s obvious the oil is not being changed the way it needs to. Yesterday I had wings that hinted a taste of fish. Their burgers are still on point and AWESOME… but the rest has made me and most of my co-workers drive elsewhere lunch. We will try it every blue moon just because it’s so close us, hoping the original Fry Lady is back; but it is truly hit or miss now.

This is a burger joint that serves a very good hamburger. Their buns are excellent too. They serve the meat and bun and then you dress it on their condiment bar. Fries and onion rings are good too. They also serve some other dishes like steak and seafood that are inexpensive. I have not tried them. I believe their specialty is burgers. I would recommend that you buy one of their listed combo’s(sandwhich, fries and drink) as opposed to a la carte like I did. My burger, onion rings and drink came to 10.25 which isn’t alot but a little more than I would spend at a place like this. This restaurant has counter service only and is very basic and plain. I wouldn’t drive a long way to eat here but if in the area its worth a try. I am giving it 4 stars because the burger is very good.

One Monday afternoon I was on my way to have me some good BBQ at Virgie’s. But alas! The place was closed. Apparently Virgie’s doesn’t open on Mondays. No worries, on the way there, I passed Burger Tex. Now having been to a different Burger Tex location off of N. Eldridge and FM529 and trying their Bulgogi burger, I thought that maybe it’s time for me to try out their regular burger. So I turned around and went to Burger Tex. This place is a lot brighter than the other location. However, the menu’s pretty much the same. I learned from the nice guy that was working here that the location off of N. Eldrige is run by his aunts/uncles. Pretty much a family-run business. However, there’s another Burger Tex nearby located off of Brittmoore and he said that location was bought out and is not run by the family anymore. I proceeded to order combo #2(6oz bacon burger) with cheese. To my surprise, the burger was actually really good. You can see the guy cooking the meat and pouring some kind of seasoning all over both sides of the meat. This time around, the homemade bun tasted a lot better than it was at the other location. Unfortunately the fries still tasted like frozen crinkle fries. Maybe they need to pour whatever seasoning they put on the meat on the fries when they fry it. Just like the other location, you have your condiments bar. You have lettuce, tomatoes, onion, mayo, mustard, ketchup, pico de gallo, and jalapenos. I totally forgot to ask if they would have grilled some onions for me because I would have rather had my onion grilled and caramelized with my bacon cheeseburger. Same comment at this place with the other location. I’d be strictly for their burger, but I don’t think I’d be ordering their fries or drink. The burger alone filled me up really good.

I’ve been to Burger Tex a couple of times and it is okay. The most recent visit was because Virgie’s had already closed. Typical hole in the wall type place where you order at the counter and go sit and wait for your food. I had the standard cheeseburger and fries combo. The burgers come plain and you go and add your own toppings from their condiment bar. The burger was just okay to me. It did not really stand out or have any great flavors. The meat was a little dry but palatable. The veggies for the burger were fresh at least. The fries were not very good either and needed some extra seasoning. The one thing this place has going for it is price. The price for a burger, fries and drink is the same you would pay at any fast food drive thru place. At least you can get a made to order burger here for cheap.

I frequent here often for lunch since my sister works down the street from the restaurant. We always order the bulgogi burger with fries. Service is fast. The food is good. It’s a good in-and-out dining place. Nothing to complain about for this place. PS. Burger Tex is ranked 3rd among Top 40 burger joints in Austin I believe. :)

I’m on the same bun as a lot of other people are on this place. Have observed that some people think it is amazing(and they have a sign that says so) but I think it needs to be placed into context. Context being that it’s also pretty affordable for a burger place(and I noticed on the«best burger» sign indoors that price is a factor for the list). So you can probably ascertain from my introduction that I didn’t think it was that great. Definitely palatable, but there are a few things that turned me off. The primary offender was the open toppings bar. I’m not a fan of these kinds of things because all I can think about is how long everything has been sitting there, who has touched it or cross-contaminated it using the wrong utensils, etc. Not to mention the things floating in the air that have probably settled on it during the day. EEK! One other thing was just the general environment. Place needs updating and even then it wouldn’t be as big of a deal if it had been a little cleaner. It wasn’t filthy, but reminded me of an old dairy queen on the inside. Anyway, I had just a regular burger, and it was very affordable. I can’t really say much else because I just don’t know what else to say. It’s a burger. It’s cheap. If you’re looking for a burger on a day you don’t have much money, you can come here and be satisfied.

This place has the oddest combination, Asian style burgers and a primarily Caucasian clientele, the brugogi(Spelling?) is the greatest hybrid burger– Must Try!, and the prices males it really a steal.

In the mood for Virgies BBQ but they were closed(Tuesday)… across the street a sign says, «Best Burgers In Houston», well why not try a new place. I ordered the 8 oz burger with fries and a drink. It was ok but not quite in the best burger ballpark. You dress your own and the fixins’ were fresh and the usual … including pico and jalapenos. If you do choose to try this place, order one of the combos… 6 oz burger, fries and a drink for less than $ 6, which is better than the just under $ 10 for my order. Will I return? … not likely.

This is usually not the type of place I would stop to check out, but i’d read that burger tex was great on some ‘best burgers list’, and thought this was the one i’d heard about. it was a bit disappointing. not bad, but just a normal fast-foody type hamburger. they do offer a bulgogi burger; pretty interesting, but i opted for the regular. not bad at all, but the food doesnt really garner a high number on any burger lists that i would write.
