It’s expensive and I was still hungry after I left.
I don’t like being hungry. I get hangry.
I only come here if others want to eat here.

I didn’t have a great experience. Ordered the California burger to go… Waited 20 minutes for my food, only to find the burger was practically just thrown on the plate. After waiting 20 minutes for my to go lunch I was not expecting to have to pick up the ingredients and assemble my own burger :/ (By the way I opened the food on my way to my car, as I was that hungry.) Wish I could say the taste redeemed itself, but it was pretty bland and unsatisfactory. Probably won’t be going back. Servers all seemed really nice and hardworking though. They are about the only reason I’m giving any stars.

I’ve never ever written a negative review and find myself giving praise to restaurants that deserve it, but this will be my first as it was pretty concerning. The food was simple and pretty bland, but healthy. My main concern was the women’s restroom. It was filthy from the counters, flooring and even the exposed plumbing behind the toilets looked as though grime was seeping out from them. I almost lost my appetite to be completely honest. I met here for business, but will never choose to dine here at my own discretion.

Reliable food and service like any other Café Express, this one benefits from being in the upscale area of Uptown Park. However, the prices are still the same affordable fare you’d find at any location. On a side note, this location has plenty of electrical outlets and free wifi if you’re looking to grab a meal as well as get some work done on your laptop.

This location seems to be busier than the one on Woodway. Come early (before noon) to be able to easily find parking. I have picked up to go a few times, and only once was I able to snag a to go parking space, and that was when I picked up lunch around 11:30.
The orders are always correct and the staff has been very nice.

I’ve grown up with Café Express around being from Houston, but I don’t go too often. I work nearby the Uptown Park location and decided to go for lunch one day. I will say overall one of the top experiences I’ve had at a Café Express location. The cashier greeted me right away and was very friendly. I ordered the California burger with turkey, and it was ready in under ten minutes. I was super happy with my choice. They followed my request for no bun. The artichoke hearts and roasted tomatoes that topped it were super tasty, and it was definitely a generous plate. Overall I was happy with the dining experience I had. I’ll definitely remember this location for the future.

Café Express is great for lunch if you’re looking for something to eat in Uptown. It’s located next to Songkran Thai Kitchen. Parking can be a nightmare since it’s located in a popular spot, and valet takes up like ¹⁄₃ of the parking lot.
Café Express is like an upgraded McAlister’s, Newk’s, and/​or Panera Bread. They have a variety of options to choose from. I decided to try one of the sandwiches which include choice of French fries, chips, or seasonal fruit. Sweet potato fries cost additional.
Rustica Chicken (3/​5, sliced grilled chicken breast with roasted tomatoes, red onions, black olive tapenade, spring mix lettuce, basil pesto & vinaigrette served open-​faced on toasted ciabatta bread): Black olive tapenade was what made this stand out in my opinion with the roasted tomatoes. Chicken was somewhat dried out in areas. Since I am a bread person, the ciabatta bread was great and not messy to eat. Sweet potato fries had the right crunch and was not severely greasy at all.
Overall, decent place. This location is pretty big and seats a good number. The wait time for food was about 10 – 15 minutes after you pay. Everything else is self-​serve.
PS, they have free wifi! I wouldn’t come here to study though. It’s too loud for that.

We recently hosted an event, and Milton, the manager at this location, expertly took care of all our catering needs. He so thoughtfully worked out a menu for us that perfectly fit our budget, and he made certain that we had just enough food for everyone in attendance at the event. He even came in on his day off to personally oversee preparations and deliver the order for us! We were incredibly impressed by his awesome customer service and willingness to go above and beyond to exceed expectations. I highly recommend contacting Milton for catering needs. The quality of food, amazing service, and price could not have been better! Thanks a million, Milton!!!

This was my first time coming here with a large group and it was delicious. The food was awesome and the atmosphere was pretty cool too. If you’re not super hungry the combo meal with the petite sandwich is more than filling!

I love café express, I a soup (black bean) & Greek salad dressing on the side kind of person. Well I was sadden at the experience of the manager. When I didn’t receive my dressing on the side I went back and asked for 2 dressing he handed me one and then acted like he didn’t hear me at 1^st.
Second I asked for fruit instead of garlic bread & I received some sad, not fresh fruit (that I threw away) see attached picture!

Came here for lunch on a Thursday and was pleasantly surprised it was not as busy as expected. Ordered a Soup and Salad meal combo, and it was pretty good for the price. I had the creamy new potato soup. I would recommend this place for a quick lunch if you work in the area.

This is a great spot for lunch. I have gotten salads and sandwiches from here and they are wonderful. Not a long wait of your food, and they have nice staff. Never dined in, but it is always pretty clean when I pick up my order.

Food is okay. I have had their burgers and pastas. It’s not bad at all but I definitely don’t come here for the food. I like that they have free internet, spacious tables, and actual food. I come here for work meetings or whenever I need to get work done and want a bite to eat.
They do have amazing limeade tho!

Stopped by for lunch. Arrived at 12. Service was quite fast, even with being pretty crowded.
I ordered the chicken sandwich. It was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. I was impressed with the condiments to add after pick up of my order. I added sun-​dried tomatoes and picked carrots and jalapenos. There was a spicy mango salsa that topped nicely on my sandwich.
My friend got a chicken pasta salad that was tasty.
Quick service for the Galleria area and right at noon.

Ok this place is huge! I mean freaking huge. It’s quiet. And clearly a perfect spot for group studies. They also have a back room kinda thing going. No don’t let the name fool you they don’t only sell coffee. The have a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches and beverages. They have the Kenyan coffee. I like the smell of it. They have two side bars. For the beverages and for the salads. The have current tea. I ordered a chicken sandwich and frenchfries with Apple juice and later hot chocolate. It was cold outside and I was there for a while. I would so recommend this for anyone trying to get their study on or group meetings or simply try out the Kenyan coffee and tell us about it. They are not open 24hrs though. Be on the lookout. It’s conveniently located too

Good for small group gatherings. Soup & salad is great. Plenty of parking.
As far as regular dining — I’ve had better food for cheaper/​similar price. For example, cheese burger tonight came out to a little over $ 10 with fries, but I kept thinking how Dairy Queen tasted a little better for cheaper.

This restaurant is normally good but on my last dining experience, I ordered the vegetable tart and ceasar salad and was less than impressed
Both the salad’s romaine lettuce was slightly slimy and the spinach on the tart was overcooked and not fresh. Not a very good experience.

Food is good however it’s always FREEZING inside. Bring a sweater.

This is my favorite Café Express. It’s big and inviting, has plenty of seats inside and outside, and it’s real food in an very expensive area. They have free wifi too and overall a great place to come and relax in the middle of the day before you go back to the grind.

I’ve been to a couple of Café Express locations and this one is by far the most overcrowded because of its location. Although it’s always crowded the food is far from memorable. It’s a good place for lunch when you don’t know anywhere else to go and don’t want to do fast food.
Pros: free WiFi
The pickled carrots are pretty good!
Cons: too crowded and expensive for what you get
