Calico

I stopped in on a Saturday to pick up some fringe and rope-​style trim for some pillows that I am having made. They had a few employees working, but MANY customers (most seemed to be «lookie-loo’s). I imagine that this makes things difficult for staff. Most of those shopping were hetero couples. The women were looking at all of the nice fabric and the men looked bored out of their minds. I was by myself, but must not have looked like a «buyer» and fair enough, I was only there to purchase about $ 50 worth of stuff. I walked around the store and on my second attempt, found what I was looking for. Then, luckily an employee asked me if I needed help. At first, she looked at me as if I were either wasting time or should not be there. However, she did a great job at answering my questions. They were having a sale that begins the coming week and she honored 25% off. They did charge $ 5.00 shipping, but that seems fair.
If I were to have them reupholster furniture or create curtains, I would go during the week in the middle of the day. Then, I imagine the service will be great.

I just moved here and needed help picking out fabric to redo my couch, love seat and pillows. «Sonna» was AMAZING! I didn’t have a clue what I was doing and she spent over 2 hours with me choosing fabrics and trim. She was so helpful and knew just what would work. In addition she was great about helping me take advantage of the upcoming sales.
I came back a few weeks later to check out fabric to recover my dining room chairs. Sonna was not in but «Tony» helped me and again was able to help me pick out a coordinating fabrics, trim, etc. He had a great eye for décor and found all of the fabric and trim I needed.
I am so impressed with this Calico and the caliber of help. I felt like I was dealing with top notch decorators. And for someone like me who comes in and doesn’t have a clue… this was key! In addition, Vickie has been wonderful too in coordinating the actual upholstery work… I was very impressed with her!
I would totally recommend this top notch Calico for your fabric, upholstery and decorating needs.

I’d drive a long way to go to any other Calico Corners than this one.
I get the distinct impression that no one here knows ANYTHING about customer service, nor do they think it’s important. It took 35 to 40 minutes once waited on to get a remnant cut and to complete the purchase. New saleswoman helping me. I was being really patient as I could see the lady was new, but she didn’t know anything i.e. how to hold the scissors, how to cut a straight line, how to ring up a sale, etc etc etc. and was definitely not ready to be waiting on customers on her own. The more experienced person who tried to help her told me to count to 10 and hold my breath. There were 4 or 5 customers lined up behind me who witnessed the whole thing, and we were all kind of speechless.
I’ve been in this store one other time in the past few months and that was not a great experience either. Hope you have better luck with them than I did.
