Cool Box Portable Storage

Please see newly added photos of the water damage inside the unit as well as the broken hinge which contributed to the damage. Yes, after some exchanges and after posting my initial review on 4/​29, we were refunded the money we paid Cool Box to store our goods for a year, plus our $ 250 deductible but nothing more. So, we net $ 250 but that $ 250 was applied to our insurance claim so we still came out with a huge loss. I guess I should just be grateful that we were compensated anything at all, so thank you Cool Box. Your customer service and social media etiquette is exceptional.
*This update is posted in response to your comments. I don’t like for my character to be questioned. I am a fair and reasonable consumer (I rarely give less than 3 stars) and you’ve really pushed me to be a crusader for future Cool Box victims.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The driver was rude, late and rude again.
The boxes sat in front of my sold home (new owners moved in) for 4 days! We were in the box for less than a month. They charged me over $ 750 because my «anniversary date» was two days after THEY were able to fit me into their schedule for pickup. I am in talks with a manager now, if they refund my money I’ll let you know!

I stored all of my household goods with Cool Box while I was away for military duty for 6 months. When they redelivered my container all of my things were ruined by extensive water damage! This was more than standard humidity… clearly the container had been drenched through at some point. Cool Box recommends insuring your things, which I did… but here is the deal — my insurance company needs documentation of a weather event that could have caused such damage. All they had to do was give them something in writing admitting that their facility flooded on a certain day and my insurance would have paid me for my things… however they had no record of anything happening at the Houston facility. The main offices are in Tuscon, so which was their excuse for being too lazy to follow up and figure it out. Instead they left me with an empty apartment.
They did show up and drop off on the promised dates and times but for obvious reasons I recommend you avoid using their Cool Box.

This company offers rental of a variety of portable storage units, the biggest of which is 8 ft x 20 ft. The prices are surprisingly cheap, and the service and product are awesome. They are ontime, the units are easy to use and secure. The communications via email, web visit, and phone have been great. A girl in my book club has had one of their units for a couple of months. If this were not an option, it would be a real hassle to remodel our houses.
