Cost Plus World Market

This store is the worst.
We went last week to browse. Among other frustrations, they item we wanted most they at two in stock on. However, they would not sell the only one we could find because it was their «display.»
My wife and I decide to buy online for in-​store pick-​up. They said two items unavailable for in-​store pick-​up splitting our total purchase into small enough amounts that our coupon was no longer applicable AND we had to now pay shipping on the second portion.
Finally, to top it all off, when I go in to pick-​up the order. The first associate seemed to have now clue what an in-​store pick-​up was. The second had «to go find it.» The whole thing took them 15 minutes to sort out and finish.
In a day and age where companies are finally recognizing the importance (and sustainability) of excellent customer service, this store has me thinking that World Market is missing the mark completely.

I have been anxiously awaiting this locations arrival, as I live very close by and have a new home I’ve been furnishing and decorating. I love World Market!
This location, however, needs a lot of improvement. Every time I go here — and I mean every time — someone, or myself, is having a problem with something. If you ask the staff for help they are clueless. I understand that this is a new location, but they should have brought in an experienced manager to train the staff. I have waited numerous times behind someone who’s waiting on a price check. They use the intercom for help and we wait… and wait… and reluctantly, finally, someone comes to help the cashier. I was checking out once and they asked me if I was a World Market Explorer member, which I am. I typed in my phone number then it asked the cashier for my email. When she tried to go past that she was stuck and had to call a manager.
Also, the middle of the store is empty! The store is not stocked up with all World Market has to offer. They need to whip it into shape here. I am so disappointed!

Great store! Everything you need to complete your upper middle class home and then some. I received amazing customer service from the employees and the sales are amazing!

World market is a great store! I’m so happy they opened a location so close to me. I really enjoyed the variety of items here. They offer a great selection of items on home furnishing items, holiday items, world wide snacks, cookware and wine selection.
What truly impressed me is their level of customer service. Manager Tara there offered great customer service. She was able to help me with a return and she was so sweet about it.

This store is GREAT! It has gifts for anyone on your Christmas list, and even all of the things you didn’t need you knew you needed in your life… and wine bottles are 20% off when you buy four bottles. Yes, I can hear your car keys rattling now to go scoop up that deal, look for Tiffany, she’ll take care of you!
But, just in case you have not gotten in your car and left yet, some other notes about the store:
— The entertaining section and glassware selection is awesome — the pieces are beautiful, durable, unique — and you name it, they have it.
— There are tons of cool cooking devices and gadgets, and row after row of unique food items and interesting cocktail concoctions. Perfect place to find something really unexpected for even the pickiest person on your Christmas, birthday, etc. list. Or maybe yourself…
— The wine glasses are some of my favorite things to purchase there (for my house, for gifts), as well as rugs and other home décor items (particularly seasonal items). The inventory is eclectic, and much more fun than your standard Home Decoration store, but everything is grouped in the store by collection, color, etc. so you don’t feel overwhelmed when trying to coordinate a particular design scheme.
It’s big box… but it’s a FUN big box store! And join the «Explorer» club online because coupons. :)

It has finally opened!
After many months and much anticipation on my part World Market is finally opened in the Yale Shopping Center next to Sprouts.
World Market is one of my long time most favorite stores and this one does not disappoint. It is well organized and well staffed. I for one am so happy to have specialty stores like this moving into our hood and keeping me from having to drive into the Galleria area to get my World Market fix.
There is no better place to get your fix of specialty food items and cute things for your house!
